Liu Guangtian's face turned red and white as he was speechless at Sha Zhu's words.
"Shazhu, I've noticed you're incredibly ungrateful. I was just trying to maintain harmony in the compound. We all live in the same compound, and you act like I'm asking for your life just because I apologized."
Xu Damao slammed his hand on the table. "Guangtian and I were setting up a clothes rack in the backyard. What did you do, Shazhu? All you do is cause trouble in the yard all day long. I think this yard will be turned into a complete mess by you sooner or later."
"Alright, let's put this matter behind us."
Liu Haizhong reached out and tugged at Xu Damao, then pushed Liu Guangtian out, saying, "Second Aunt, you and Huairu hang up the clothes and hurry up and do other things. There's still a lot of work to do this afternoon."
Xu Damao wanted to say a few more harsh words, but Liu Haizhong dragged him out.
"Da Mao, listen to me for a moment."
When they reached the moon gate leading to the backyard, Liu Haizhong finally let go of her hand. "I know that Sha Zhu is involved in the incident where you were hit, but you don't have any evidence. Now Sha Zhu is insisting that Bang Geng hit you himself. Are you going to let Qin Huairu take you to the hospital?"
"So even if we argue about this until tomorrow morning, we still won't get anywhere."
Liu Haizhong put his hands behind his back and said, "But I find Sha Zhu's behavior despicable. You are clearly working for the compound, but he not only doesn't help, he also interferes. His methods are extremely despicable."
"Da Mao, go back and rest for a while. Let's leave it at that for today. Next time, I'll definitely avenge you."
Liu Haizhong witnessed everything when Xu Damao was being attacked, and when they arrived at Shazhu's house, he immediately realized that Banggeng was definitely instigated by Shazhu.
Xu Damao was doing his job properly, and you, Sha Zhu, were messing things up. Not to mention Xu Damao, even Liu Haizhong, this old man, was furious just thinking about it.
"Alright, then it's settled, Uncle. Next time something like this happens, you have to take my side."
Xu Damao remained silent for a moment before speaking.
"Da Mao, not only my dad stands with you, but I stand with you too." Liu Guangtian was very dissatisfied with Sha Zhu's attitude, so he naturally stood up to Xu Da Mao and shared the same hatred.
"Good brother."
Xu Damao chuckled, patted Liu Guangtian on the shoulder, then took out a cigarette and offered one to Liu Haizhong first, then lit one for himself, and finally stuffed the remaining half pack into Liu Guangtian's mouth.
Liu Guangtian happily took the cigarette, lit one, and said, "Thanks, Brother Da Mao."
After finishing his cigarette, Xu Damao left. After resting at home for a while, he still had to go and retrieve the equipment for showing movies.
With half a pack of cigarettes to tide him over, Liu Guangtian didn't complain about the rest of the work and busied himself with it.
After the scaffold was set up, Qin Huairu and her second aunt came over.
After saying goodbye, Liu Guangtian went back. He wanted to take a break, otherwise he would be busy in the afternoon and evening.
After having a full lunch, Wang Dabao went home, tidied up the stove, and waited for the fire to get going. Then he brewed a pot of tea to get rid of the sweet potato's pungent smell before collapsing onto the bed and falling into a deep sleep.
Wang Dabao didn't hear the noise from Xu Damao and the others outside at all; he was sleeping soundly and comfortably.
I woke up and checked the time; it was almost 3 p.m.
Instead of rushing out, I stayed at the Space Farm cabin for a while, had the housekeeper cook a meal, played with the two dogs for a while after eating, and then returned to the courtyard house.
The sweet potatoes at noon were quite big, but they weren't enough to keep you full.
Upon opening the door, I heard lively sounds coming from the middle courtyard.
Judging from the sounds, there were quite a few people, and many of them were unfamiliar voices. They must be the neighbors from the next courtyard who were watching a movie coming up one after another.
It was almost four o'clock, and it was getting dark around five o'clock.
Just as Wang Dabao locked the door, he saw the door next door, belonging to the deaf old lady, open.
"Grandma, take your time, no rush. We've saved you a good spot." Sha Zhu helped the deaf old lady out, carrying a small stool in one hand.
Wang Dabao smiled and waved to Sha Zhu.
"Oh, it's Brother Da Bao! I haven't seen you all afternoon!" As he said this, Sha Zhu helped the deaf old lady over.
However, judging from the deaf old woman's demeanor, she didn't seem to like Wang Dabao.
It's no wonder, Wang Dabao was just short of slapping this deaf old man across the face, and he'd done everything else. It's no wonder he couldn't stand him.
"Ugh, I've been feeling sleepy lately. I fell asleep as soon as I got back from the front yard."
Wang Dabao chuckled, "See, even with all the noise in the yard, it didn't disturb me."
When Wang Dabao said he had just woken up, Sha Zhu smiled.
"What a coincidence, my grandma just woke up too. She couldn't sleep last night because of the noise from the Liu family."
Wang Dabao asked, puzzled, "Did the Liu family make a scene? What happened? Did Old Liu hit the child again last night?"
Before Sha Zhu could speak, the deaf old woman squinted at Wang Dabao and said, "You slept really soundly. There were all the howling and wailing in the backyard last night, but you didn't hear a thing."
The deaf old woman's words clearly indicated that she suspected Wang Dabao of lying.
If it weren't for Sha Zhu being there, Wang Dabao wouldn't have bothered to even glance at the deaf old woman. He thought to himself, "If that old hag keeps acting up, I'll make sure you don't sleep well tonight."
Just then, Xu Damao came out of his house humming a song.
"Hey, Da Bao, you're awake now."
Wang Dabao nodded, his gaze towards Xu Damao somewhat strange.
It was obvious that Xu Damao had just tidied himself up at home; he shaved and definitely put something on his hair.
Wang Dabao hadn't styled his hair since he transmigrated, and he didn't know what Xu Damao had put on his hair, but it looked incredibly shiny and silky smooth.
The little cotton-padded leather shoes on her feet were also shiny, the kind that even a fly could slip and do a split on.
She wore navy blue trousers on her lower body, a wool coat on top, and a light green sweater and a white shirt underneath.
