Chapter 413 Yi Zhonghai gives Liu Haizhong a gift?

"You idiot Zhu, you son of a bitch, what the hell can you do besides playing dirty tricks?"

"Let me tell you, Qin Huairu wasn't just played by Yi Zhonghai, I even touched her big ass, that fleshy feeling was amazing. You're a fucking idiot, always calling her 'Sister Qin,' in Qin Huairu's eyes you're just a plaything."

"Yi Zhonghai didn't treat you like a human being either. He kept fooling you into helping the Jia family, but what happened? He himself would sneak into the vegetable cellar with Qin Huairu every night. Maybe what everyone said is true, the locust flowers are Yi Zhonghai's seed."

"Calling you an idiot is an understatement. Holding hands with someone can make you happy all day. If Qin Huairu doesn't fool you, who else would she fool? Now look what's happened! She'd rather give the meat to Yi Zhonghai than let you have any. You're so pathetic!"

Xu Damao was furious. He clutched his stomach and cursed loudly on the ground, which earned him two more slaps from Shazhu.

He was whipped until he clutched his head and spun around on the ground.

No one passing by dared to get involved; some even avoided the situation from afar.

After venting his anger, Sha Zhu spat at Xu Damao, clapped his hands, and walked away humming a little tune.

He had been holding back a lot of anger, and today's meal was the best he could do to vent the frustration he felt from being punished by the security department earlier that day.

Xu Damao lay on the ground groaning, his heart filled with resentment.

He couldn't understand why Sha Zhu was so resentful when he hadn't said anything at the factory, and why Sha Zhu would block him and beat him up after get off work.

After a long while, Xu Damao struggled to his feet, pushed his bicycle, and limped home.

When Wang Dabao was almost at the gate of the compound, he ran into Xu Damao, who was struggling to move a car.

"Da Mao, did you fall on the way?"

It's no wonder Wang Dabao asked that question. When he saw Xu Damao in the afternoon, his face didn't have so many injuries. How come he had so many bruises after get off work?

Xu Damao almost cried when he saw Wang Dabao.

“Da Bao, you don’t know, that bastard Sha Zhu ambushed me at the alley entrance. Look at the injuries on my face, he beat me up just now.”

Wang Dabao felt a chill run down his spine; Sha Zhu was ruthless enough!

Xu Damao was beaten twice in half a day, with an interval of no more than three or four hours. Even a biological son wouldn't be beaten like that. If you don't believe me, let's ask Lao Liu. Liu Haizhong at least knows to give his son time to recover.

"Zhu Zi is being too outrageous. Wasn't everything explained clearly at the factory? Why did he have to cause such a scene?"

Wang Dabao glanced at Xu Damao, who didn't seem to be seriously injured; it was just Sha Zhu venting his anger.

"What...what's going on?"

Yan Bugui came out, holding the temple of his glasses, and approached Xu Damao. "I heard you guys yelling in the yard, Damao. Who hit you? That was really rough. Why did they hit you all over the face?"

When Xu Damao recounted what had happened that day, including the beating he had received in the alley, Yan Bugui immediately became furious.

"This idiot Zhu is really outrageous. This is clearly an act of retaliation."

Then Yan Bugui looked at Wang Dabao and asked, "Dabao, what do you think we should do about this?"

Wang Dabao really wanted to kick Yan Bugui out of the room and ask me what I was doing. He thought I knew exactly what to do.

“Old Yan, although this happened in the family quarters, everything still needs evidence. It’s not that I don’t trust Da Mao, but that’s the rule. First, Da Mao has to find a witness to prove that it was Sha Zhu who attacked him.”

"We still need to find witnesses?"

Xu Damao said with a long face, "Everyone avoids the area when they see people fighting. Besides, I was lying on the ground and didn't even see who was passing by."

Wang Dabao shrugged: "This is really difficult to handle. Even if we get to the police station, it will be hastily concluded without any evidence."

Meanwhile, Sha Zhu was cooking on the stove as usual, his eyes peering out through the crack in the door.

Seeing Xu Damao limping back pushing his bicycle, he chuckled and closed the door with satisfaction.

Yi Zhonghai finally recovered and was able to walk around for a while, but he was under tremendous pressure because of the rumors circulating in the courtyard.

Lying on the kang with a worried expression, he knew that once this matter got out, it would be difficult to control, but he was helpless.

If he knew that several versions of the story were circulating in the factory, even blaming him for Jia Dongxu's death, he would probably spit out a mouthful of blood several meters away.

Aunt Yi sat expressionless to one side. Yi Zhonghai went over and explained several times, but he couldn't understand her at all.

When it was time to cook, Aunt Yi would cook and bring the food to Yi Zhonghai on the kang (a heated brick bed), without saying a word else.

Yi Zhonghai was deeply troubled. Last night, he thought that by paying money, he could suppress the matter, but little did he know that it was just the beginning of his suffering.

Qin Huairu was also pacing around in the room. She felt so ashamed that she wanted to cry at the thought of the rumors she would face when she returned to the factory.

I wanted to ask Sha Zhu if the matter had been resolved, but I couldn't just go to Sha Zhu's house to ask.

What will the other residents think then? A widow whose husband just died not long ago, stirring up trouble in the courtyard?!

Qin Huairu finally decided to go and discuss it with the deaf old lady.

She went to the deaf old lady's house, and as soon as she sat down, tears started flowing uncontrollably.

The deaf old lady sighed and patted her hand: "Huai Ru, now that this has happened, we have to find a way to deal with it. Tell Grandma, is there really something going on between you and Yi Zhonghai?"

Just then, Sha Zhu finished cooking and ladled out a bowl of porridge, intending to bring it to the deaf old lady. He had just reached the door when he heard the conversation inside.

"Grandma, I swear to God, if I had done anything with Uncle Yi, may I die a horrible death. It was really because I was being bullied at the factory, and constantly looking for Uncle Yi there was interfering with his work. But I was afraid people would gossip if we talked in the yard, so I went to the cellar to talk."

"I never expected it to turn into such a big mess. I'm so regretful now, I really don't know what to do. I even asked Zhuzi to go to the factory this afternoon to inquire, but I still don't know how it is."

Sha Zhu was initially suspicious because of what Xu Damao said, but he felt relieved after hearing Qin Huairu's explanation.

If Sister Qin could say that, then there must be nothing between her and Yi Zhonghai. He secretly realized that he shouldn't have doubted Sister Qin.

Thinking of this, Sha Zhu picked up his bowl and pushed open the door to go inside.

"The pillar is here."

"Sister Qin, don't worry. As long as you are innocent, you don't need to be afraid of rumors. We'll clarify things once we get back to work and everything will be fine."

Just as the three were discussing, Yi Zhonghai, wearing an overcoat, arrived at Liu Haizhong's house.

He took out two packs of cigarettes as he sat down. "Old Liu, I found these while I was packing. I brought them over since I was just passing by. Don't mind that they're not good cigarettes."

"Hey Lao Yi, what are you doing? We're all neighbors, why are you doing this to us!"

Liu Haizhong appeared righteous, but inside he was overjoyed.

I never dreamed that Yi Zhonghai would give me a gift one day.

However, he knew that Yi Zhonghai must have something to ask of him, so he decided to leave the cigarettes for now. If the matter was difficult to resolve, he definitely couldn't accept them.

Whether or not to accept it is another matter, but Yi Zhonghai's actions are enough to warrant frying an extra egg for dinner.
