Xu Damao had an ambiguous relationship with a widow in the countryside, and they even had a child together.
Qin Jingru's eyes widened upon hearing this. "Sister, Aunt Jia, you mustn't spread rumors about this. I don't think Xu Damao is that kind of person. He didn't charge me for medical treatment and even treated me to a meal. He was very generous throughout the whole process."

Qin Jingru lowered her head and muttered softly, "But I don't have any feelings for Sha Zhu. I just feel that I get along well with Xu Damao."
Qin Huairu gritted her teeth in exasperation: "Feelings can be cultivated. Shazhu is truly sincere towards you. Xu Damao, on the other hand, might be able to coax you today, but he might be coaxing someone else tomorrow."

Qin Jingru nodded: "Shazhu is good, but Xu Damao is not bad either!"

Qin Huairu sat in the room and said to Qin Jingru, "Go open the door and tell him to stop bothering you."
Qin Jingru nodded and went to the door.
Feeling a little guilty after opening the door, she looked at Xu Damao and stammered, "My sister and Aunt Jia said you have a child with a widow in the countryside, I... I can't be with you."
