"Lei Min, go to the disciplinary department and ask about the progress of the Fanghu incident. According to the procedures, they should provide a result within 15 days for the issues we transferred."
But it's been almost a month now, and we haven't received any feedback from them.
Inside the Armed Forces Department, Xu Damao called Lei Min to his office and specifically instructed him to check on the situation.
Lei Min looked on with a constipated expression, and after thinking for a moment, she still raised her objection.
“Boss, according to the unspoken rules we’ve always followed, no feedback from them means they’re not going to do anything, so is it inappropriate for us to ask them now?” Lei Min said.
“What’s wrong with that? Unspoken rules? Where do all these unspoken rules come from! They’ve spoiled them. Just tell them we have to get a result, whether they handle it or not, or else I’ll go back and report to the higher-ups.” Xu Damao waved his hand.
There was no other way; in the Armed Forces Department, Xu Damao's word was law, and Lei Min had to obey even if it offended people.
Sure enough, when Lei Min arrived at the inspection office and mentioned Xu Damao's request, everyone looked at her with strange eyes, as if she were a fool.
"Hehe, this is Minister Xu's request, there's really no other way." Lei Min was also afraid of the disciplinary department, so she could only bite the bullet and explain.
"Director Lei, please go back and report to Minister Xu. Tell him we will give you the results tomorrow," said Dai Lin, director of the Supervision Office.

The arrogance blared in the few words of the supervisory office's reply; each word seemed like a slap in the face to Xu Damao. Holding this reply, Lei Min hesitated to even deliver it.
"Sir, this is the reply from the Supervision Office."
Taking advantage of the opportunity to deliver other documents, Lei Min brought in the reply letter along with the mail, then turned and left. She was afraid that if she hesitated, Xu Damao would take his anger out on her.
"This old Dai looks very honest, but he's actually playing word games with me." Xu Damao tapped the table lightly.

In the tavern, Dai Lin and Ma Dabao sat together drinking and eating.

"He can't even manage things in the Armed Forces Department right now, so what future does he have? But I read your reply, it was really satisfying, haha," Ma Dabao laughed.

Upon hearing their director's words, the two young men quickly came out and followed Lei Min towards Fanghu Lake.
"Section Chief Fang, what's the matter today?" Lei Min asked softly.
"What's going on? You have the nerve to ask me? I should be asking you. I've been suspended for so long, and the supervisory office has said I'm fine, so why haven't they reinstated me yet?"
Is Xu Damao retaliating against me for personal reasons? I'm going to ask the leaders about this today.
Fang Hu stood in the corridor, shouting loudly, as if afraid that others wouldn't hear him.
"Stop making a fuss here. Minister Xu isn't in his office today; he's in a meeting. Go back first, and I'll convey your message when he gets back and give you a result as soon as possible, okay?"
"Your commotion is bad for everyone," Lei Min advised.
By this time, a number of people from other departments had gathered in the corridor, all watching the spectacle.
"Who are you trying to fool? I already found out that Xu Damao is in the office."
Everyone, come and see! Xu Damao is retaliating by suspending me indefinitely. How can someone like that be a minister? He's a disgrace to the steel mill.
"Xu Damao, if you don't come out soon, I'm going to file a formal complaint against you with my real name at the ministry!"
Having dealt with many scoundrels in his daily life, Fang Hu has learned a few tricks and techniques. Now, when he gets into a fuss, he really does resemble a shrew cursing in the street.
