Chapter 34 "Nine days on, one day off."...

Chapter 34

From childhood to adulthood, Rong Weiyue rarely had the "best" things at home.

The doll she liked when she was little was given to her by her parents from her older sister. The doll's hair was a little tangled and the hem of her skirt was worn out, but she would still comb it little by little and gently hold it in her arms to sleep.

Many of her clothes and dresses were hand-me-downs from her older sister. Although they were very pretty, Rong Chengye rarely bought her new dresses, saying that she shouldn't spend her time on dressing up.

When Rong Weiyue was seven years old, she also loved ballet. At that time, she really wanted a ballet dress, but Rong Chengye said that she had to be the top student in her grade to get one. She worked hard for a long time, but her grades were just a little short. The ballet dress was later bought by someone else. Rong Chengye pointed to the shop window and taught her: "Good things are always given to those who are prepared. Opportunities never wait for anyone."

Rong Weiyue didn't cry, but it was the first time she understood that the world was like a huge commodity market, where only the "most excellent" could be exchanged for the "best".

She had to work hard to earn her parents' praise, her favorite toys, and a happy life, but later she gave up. She realized that she couldn't succeed no matter what, so she accepted that she didn't deserve any of the best things.

So even though Fu Linzheng had been so good to her, she was still so sensitive that she constantly doubted his sincerity and pushed him away time and time again.

But Fu Linzheng repeatedly picked up her broken pieces, telling her that he wanted to give her the best.

He always proves through his actions that there are people in the world who are good to you, not because you are so outstanding, but because you are you.

She realized that she didn't have to work so hard to have the love she had dreamed of as a child.

Hearing him say that, a wave of emotion welled up in her eyes, making them mist. She lowered her head, trying her best to suppress her emotions. Fu Linzheng saw this, frowned, and smiled helplessly: "Why are you crying? Are you really that moved?"

"Hmm..."

Fu Linzheng joked, "Rong Weiyue, if you're really that moved, just shedding tears won't do you any good. You have to show it with your actions, right?"

She looked up and choked back a sob, "What..."

He leaned back lazily on the sofa, a smirk playing on his lips: "For example, take the initiative to throw yourself into my arms, and then give me a sweet kiss or something. This time I'll be generous and won't say you're taking advantage of me."

Rong Weiyue looked at him, her heart pounding. A few seconds later, she couldn't help but lean in and snuggle into his arms, gently wrapping her arms around his waist.

He was stunned.

He didn't expect her to actually hug him, and in an instant, as if by instinct, he immediately held her tightly.

The man's broad, warm body enveloped her tightly in his embrace, like a warm, supple net catching her as she fell, completely enveloping her.

Rong Weiyue buried her face in his neck, a tear hanging on her eyelashes, about to fall. Fu Linzheng frowned even more as he watched, and teased in a hoarse voice:

"Rong Weiyue, if you act like this, I'm starting to suspect that the ring I gave you wasn't big enough, and that it hasn't satisfied you."

She sniffed. "No..."

She blinked her stinging eyes and whispered, "Fu Linzheng, thank you... I have never envied anyone, whether it was when we were together in high school or now, never. It was me... I didn't cherish it back then."

If you already have the best things, why would you feel disappointed or sad because you can't get anything else?

For her, Fu Linzheng was irreplaceable.

Rong Weiyue choked up slightly and said, "Actually, when I was little, I envied others. I envied my sister. She always got first place in every exam. My parents doted on her. I also envied my brother. He could get whatever he wanted by just being affectionate with them. But I wanted to please them. I tried both methods, but I failed."

Upon hearing this, Fu Linzheng frowned with heartache.

She smiled faintly: "But in the past two years, as I've grown up, I don't envy others as much anymore, because I feel that I'm quite excellent at times. I'm not as bad as I imagined, right?"

His throat tightened, and he replied in a low voice, "Of course."

She said softly, "And now... I'm not alone anymore."

With Fu Linzheng by her side, she gained more and more confidence.

The man patted her head and looked at her with deep, dark eyes: "Yes, why try to please others? Your life is your own, what does it have to do with them? You are only responsible for living happily, understand? If others don't like you, it's their problem. If I encountered such people, I would tell them all to go back and reflect on themselves."

She couldn't help but slightly curl the corners of her lips. Fu Linzheng's tone was arrogant: "Besides, you're not going to spend the rest of your life with your parents, you're going to spend it with me. With such an awesome husband like me, you can show off to everyone you want. Won't people be green with envy?"

Rong Weiyue suppressed her laughter, amused: "Fu Linzheng, how can you be so narcissistic?"

"What, am I not telling the truth? Someone like me would be considered top-tier luxury brand, and would be a rare gem if auctioned off."

She couldn't help but laugh, going along with his smugness: "Yeah, yeah, yeah."

After a few seconds of silence, Fu Linzheng patted her head and said in a low voice, "The breakup is in the past."

She was startled.

Fu Linzheng felt even more pain in his heart when he thought of her words, "It's because I didn't cherish it." He didn't want her to blame herself or feel bad: "No matter what the reason for the breakup was, don't mention those things you don't want to talk about anymore. Even if the reasons you gave were true, they're all in the past. We have the present and the future, you know?"

For him, having her by his side could outweigh all the pain of past separations. Even if she didn't really like him back then and just wanted to play with him, he accepted it.

They have a lifetime ahead of them, and he will treat her even better than before, so that she won't regret marrying him.

Rong Weiyue listened, staring blankly at him. She thought he was still holding a grudge about what happened in the past, but she never expected that she was more important to him than anything else.

Her throat was dry, and she finally nodded slightly. Fu Linzheng toyed with the ring box between his fingers and said in a lazy tone, "Hey, Mrs. Fu, did you forget something?"

She blinked. "What?"

He handed the jewelry box to her, a smirk playing on his lips: "Could you please pay attention to the proper procedure? I helped you put your ring on, but you're not going to help me put mine on?"

She was embarrassed: "I forgot..."

She took out the men's ring from the jewelry box. The ring band was polished to a matte finish, reflecting a cool white metallic light. The design was simple, with their initials on the inner band and a crescent moon engraved on the outer band.

It represents her.

When she graduated from high school, she and Fu Linzheng made a pair of plain silver rings with filigree inlay. That day, Fu Linzheng put the plain ring on her finger, and his usually casual tone was unusually serious: "One day in the future, I will replace it with a real diamond ring."

At that time, she was already in his future.

On the day they broke up, upon hearing her resolute words, Fu Linzheng threw their rings into the rain, and their promise was shattered.

But she never expected that six years later, they would actually have wedding rings.

As if time had overlapped, Rong Weiyue gently held his left hand and, with a youthful yet solemn expression, pushed the ring onto his ring finger.

Fu Linzheng silently gazed at her face, his dark eyes gradually heating up, a surge of heat welling up within him.

The ring was firmly stuck to the base of his finger.

The ring finger is the closest finger to the heart.

Rong Weiyue's eyes reddened like the rising tide. She looked up at him, a smile curving her lips, and softly spoke:

"Mr. Fu, happy marriage."

Fu Linzheng's brows were sharp as he stared into her almond-shaped eyes, which were so close to his own, his gaze burning with intensity: "Rong Weiyue, do you know what the next step is after exchanging rings?"

Her heart skipped a beat, and her red lips parted slightly, "What..."

Fu Linzheng pulled her into his arms, his voice deep and husky: "Close your eyes."

Rong Weiyue's eyelashes trembled slightly, and just as she closed her eyes, his kisses rained down upon her like a storm.

It was as if a dense net had descended upon her, leaving her nowhere to hide. Fu Linzheng's breath was intense and hot, like a fire being fanned by the wind, carrying emotions suppressed for six years.

He finally kissed his beloved in the name of "Mr."

Time seemed to stand still at that moment.

Everything around was blurred.

The night outside the window was as dark as ink, deep and silent, so quiet that even the wind seemed to hold its breath. The ticking of the living room clock struck my heart with each stroke.

Only a floor lamp was lit next to the sofa, its dim yellow light scattering across the floor like ripples spreading across the sea under the moonlight. The warmth emanating from the underfloor heating was constantly stirred by the two people's breath, causing the air to heat up.

Fu Linzheng's strong arm could firmly lock her slender waist, while his other hand held the back of her head. His strength was restrained, yet it felt as if he wanted to crush her in his arms.

As Rong Weiyue was kissed, her thoughts were filled with countless snowflakes.

My heartbeat is out of control, and I can't think of anything.

Unlike the first kiss after their reunion, which was driven by jealousy and went awry, or the second kiss, which was impulsive and drunken, their hearts were now close, and in their clear world, there was only each other.

He was incredibly aggressive, as if he had been holding back for a long time. Her eyelashes fluttered, a tingling sensation ran through her limbs, and her fingertips gripped his clothes tightly. After a while, Fu Linzheng paused slightly, cupped her chin in his hand, and said in a deep, alluring voice, "Rong Weiyue, did I teach you for nothing before?"

She opened her blurry eyes, her breathing ragged, "What..."

Fu Linzheng raised an eyebrow, his fingertip pressing against her rosy, moist lips, his voice low and seductive: "Stick out your tongue, what kind of kiss is it if you don't stick out your tongue?"

Hmm...

It's been so long since I kissed anyone, I forgot qwq...

She was so nervous just now that she acted as awkwardly as if it were her first time. She said softly, "I know..."

As his deep laughter rang out, the crisp scent of mint quickly stole her breath again. His tongue easily parted her teeth, and she took the initiative to meet him, being teased and swept away by his movements.

Rong Weiyue couldn't help but wrap her arms around his neck, and Fu Linzheng's eyes darkened as he pulled her even deeper into his embrace.

The large, single-level apartment was as dark as the deep sea, and the two of them felt like a large ship on a giant wave, swaying with the waves.

Humid and hot, chaotic, and endlessly intertwined.

Her back was pressed against the sofa, as if she were completely submerged by a huge wave.

After a while, as the air grew thinner, the passionate kiss finally stopped. Fu Linzheng opened his eyes, staring straight at her, his voice low and husky:

"Now do you know what the final step is?"

Rong Weiyue breathed rapidly, her eyes still red and moist, like drops of honey, her voice soft and sweet: "This time it wasn't me, it was you who took advantage of me..."

Fu Linzheng smirked: "So what if it was me? Who was it that hugged, kissed, and cuddled me before? Shouldn't I get my revenge tenfold?"

He gripped her chin, his dark eyes burning: "And you think one kiss is enough to repay me?"

Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and he kissed her again.

He pulled her into the abyss once again.

Fu Linzheng was always good at kissing, and he could kiss her until her legs went weak and her reason overturned, let alone six years later.

Her fingers gripped his clothes, sometimes loosening, sometimes tightening, her heart softening and tingling. After a while, she let out a soft moan, indicating that she couldn't breathe. Fu Linzheng stopped, a smile spreading across his eyes: "Rong Weiyue, how come your kissing skills are still so bad? You can't even breathe properly?"

"I...I'm sick, my nose is stuffy."

"Even if your nose isn't blocked, your kissing skills will be poor."

I hate this person. "Yes, you're good at kissing, you're experienced."

He scoffed, "Where did you get this 'experience' from? I just have a good memory; I still remember what I practiced six years ago."

Rong Weiyue was taken aback. Fu Linzheng's breathing was deep: "It's alright. Just teach the struggling students well and they'll get better with more practice."

He didn't give her time to think further and pressed down on her again.

After a while, Hu Hu, who had come from the kitchen carrying a little sparrow, jumped onto the sofa with a thud and desperately burrowed into their arms, fluttering around.

Forced to stop, Fu Linzheng's face darkened and he angrily picked up the ancestor: "Fu Huhu, what do you mean by this? Can't you see your parents are doing important things? Do you have to cause trouble?"

Huhu blinked at him, as if to say:

Dad, you can't bully Mom.

Hu Hu was put down on the sofa, but she was unwilling to give up and jumped back up, pounced on Rong Weiyue, and rubbed against her mother's chest, looking very clingy.

Fu Linzheng: "..."

He ignored it and tried to come closer, but Rong Weiyue softly hummed, "Don't kiss me anymore..."

His mouth was dry. "Why not?"

She deliberately refused to let him kiss her, her cheeks flushed and her eyebrows arched: "I'm going to take a shower."

Leaving the dark-faced person behind, she quickly ran to the bedroom, put Huhu on the floor, grabbed her clothes, closed the bathroom door, and saw in the mirror that her face was as red as two cherries, and her lips were sucked until they were exceptionally red.

How long did they kiss just now...?

She calmed the surging heat in her chest, removed her contact lenses, and the moon wedding ring on her ring finger reflected a dazzling light on the mirror. She gently took it off and saw their initials engraved on the inner ring.

A round circle, as if binding them together.

This is the most obvious sign of marriage.

She put it back on her wrist, then a question arose in her mind—

This ring is clearly custom-made, but how could it be made so quickly in such a short time since the wedding?

She suddenly remembered that he had said he was going to He City today. Could it be to pick up this ring...?

But how could this ring have been made before...?

Perhaps... this is Fu Linzheng's financial power.

She suppressed her thoughts and went to take a shower. Half an hour later, she changed into her pajamas and came out to see Fu Linzheng sitting on the sofa in the room, his long legs bent, playing with playing cards with his fingertips, exuding a lazy and carefree air.

Rong Weiyue was stunned, not expecting him to be here. She glanced around the room and asked, "Where's Huhu?"

He pressed the tip of his tongue against his cheek: "You unfilial son, I have already expelled you from the family."

She chuckled, "Didn't you say before that fathers were kind and sons were filial?"

He scoffed lazily, "It's unfilial, why should I be kind to it? It's a perfectly good dog, why does it have to be a third wheel?"

Her eyes crinkled into a smile as she walked over and was immediately pulled into his arms. Watching him shuffle the cards with flair, she said, "Fu Linzheng, when did you learn magic tricks? I've never seen you do them before."

"In college, I met a magician and learned a few tricks from him."

Fu Linzheng is smart, quick-handed, and has a good memory. He can easily master these games. If he were to show off his skills, he would surely win the hearts of countless girls.

Fu Linzheng flicked the cards with his fingertips and said leisurely, "Five years of study were not in vain; I got a kiss in return."

"..."

Her face flushed, and she mumbled an admission: "Actually, I didn't black out when I was drunk that day. I lied to you on purpose."

He chuckled. "You think I don't know?"

If he had pressed her for more details, she probably would have been too embarrassed to even mention room 3401.

She smiled and said, "Any other magic tricks? Can you do one more?"

Fu Linzheng circled her, raising an eyebrow. "I have a prophetic magic trick. Want to try it?"

"Okay, what are the rules?"

"I can randomly draw two cards and tell you what those two cards represent that will happen to you next."

"That's amazing!"

Fu Linzheng turned the cards over and pushed them onto the table. Curious, she drew two cards, picked them up and saw that they were a 3 and an 8.

What does this mean?

Fu Linzheng said lazily, "That means you have to kiss me eight times a day for the next three days."

Rong Weiyue: ?

Embarrassed, she was forced to draw two more cards, one of which was a 1 and the other a 9.

Fu Linzheng raised the corner of his lips: "So what you mean is that we were supposed to do it nine times on the first night, but you were too tired and begged for mercy once, so it ended up being eight times."

Rong Weiyue: ? ? Is that right?!

Fu Linzheng said calmly, "Or it can be understood as working for nine days and resting for one day."

Rong Weiyue: ? ? ?

This person...

Her face flushed red; she hadn't expected him to be so lewd. "I'm not smoking anymore."

What kind of game is this? I've been fooled again...

The kitten bristled and ran away from his arms in embarrassment, meowing and scolding him with its eyes. Its adorable appearance made Fu Linzheng laugh. He stood up, and she sat on the edge of the bed without looking at him: "Go back, I want to sleep."

"I'll go back?"

Fu Linzheng leaned over and pulled her up: "What do you mean? You knew how to sleep in the hotel last night, but you want to separate from me tonight?"

That's because he went too far.

The little girl didn't speak, so Fu Linzheng leaned down to look at her and coaxed her softly, "I was wrong. Come to my room and sleep, okay?"

She suppressed the smile on her lips and retorted, "When we signed the rental agreement, it was agreed that I couldn't enter the other person's bedroom. Didn't some self-righteous gentlemen say that he was conservative and steadfast, and that others were plotting against him?"

Fu Linzheng chuckled, leaning down to bite her lip. "What, starting to settle scores now?"

"This is what you said..."

He pinned her to the bed, his dark eyes burning, and admitted in a hoarse voice, "I've been plotting against you for a long time."

Neither her heart nor her person.

He wanted it all, inside and out, and wanted it completely.

Rong Weiyue's eyes curved slightly, and Fu Linzheng wanted to pick her up. "What do you need? Take whatever you need, there's no rush to move the rest."

She directed him to unplug his phone charger and tablet, and as they walked outside, she remembered something and jumped down from his arms. "Wait, there's something else I forgot."

She ran back, habitually went to the bedside to pick up the medicine box, poured out a pill, took it, and then went out again. Fu Linzheng asked in confusion, "Where did you go?"

"No..." She didn't want him to know, "The socket was left on, let's go, let's go."

She quickly went over and took his arm. Fu Linzheng smirked, "You seem quite eager to sleep with me."

"..."

I went to his bedroom, which was decorated in a modern minimalist style with black and white accents. The space was similar to her room, and there were many racing car models and heavy racing books and materials on the table.

The bed linens have just been replaced with new gray four-piece bedding. After being disinfected and sterilized, they still have a faint scent of fresh citrus.

Fu Linzheng said that her bedroom could be used as her studio, or she could move her work computer there and decorate it however she wanted.

Rong Weiyue agreed, and Fu Linzheng made her another cup of cold medicine and told her to drink it. "After you finish drinking, lie down and go to sleep. I'm going to take a shower."

"oh……"

After she finished drinking, she snuggled into the blankets, the soft mattress supporting her like a cloud, the familiar scent of bamboo leaves and mint emanating from him filling her nostrils.

Lying flat, Rong Weiyue buried her face halfway in the sheets, looked at the man standing by the bed, and obediently asked:

"Then I'll wait for you to come out after you've finished showering?"

Fu Linzheng laughed: "What, what kind of activities do you want after I come out?"

She coughed lightly and stammered, "...like singing a lullaby or something?"

Fu Linzheng leaned down to look at her, his eyes deep and unfathomable: "We don't have lullabies, only eight bedtime exercises. Do you want some?"

"..."

She bit her red lips, and after a few seconds mustered her courage to say, "Actually, it's still quite early tonight..."

He raised an eyebrow: "I caught a cold, so I don't have any activities planned."

"..."

Not wanting to talk to him anymore, she closed her eyes, turned over, and said goodnight and we'd talk again tomorrow.

Fu Linzheng couldn't help but laugh.

He left, and Rong Weiyue rolled around in the blankets twice in embarrassment. Finally, she looked at the ring on her hand and gently curved her lips into a smile.

They exchanged rings tonight, that's wonderful.

She thought that she should treat Fu Linzheng better from now on.

Even better.

Regardless of how they broke up in the past, she absolutely could not let him down again.

After a while, she closed her eyes, unable to resist the drowsiness, and gradually fell asleep.

Later, Fu Linzheng came out after taking a shower. A bedside lamp was on in the room. The little girl was lying on the bed, curled up in a ball, breathing lightly, her sleeping face peaceful.

He slowed his pace, and his dark eyes softened.

He turned off the light, lifted the covers and lay down, wrapping his arms around her from behind. His warm chest pressed against hers, and Rong Weiyue seemed to sense his embrace, letting out a soft moan. Fu Linzheng smiled and gently kissed her earlobe: "Little cat."

The kitten rolled over and snuggled into his arms, then went back to sleep.

Fu Linzheng raised his hand to stroke her black hair, his heart softening and melting.

For six years after the breakup, he dreamt countless nights that she didn't like him and was determined to break up. He was trapped in that torrential rain and couldn't find a way out no matter what he did.

He once thought that loss was the final outcome.

Fortunately, he has now found her.

She lay in his arms, as his wife.

With her eyes open and closed, she was no longer a dream that could disappear at any moment.

-

The next day, after they woke up, Fu Linzheng took her out.

The process was very efficient; the two quickly signed the agreement and had it notarized.

He transferred or gifted the property to her name without delay, as if she would run away if she didn't get the money.

Fu Linzheng said that money doesn't mean anything, but he wanted to use this to tell her that everything in the world that outsiders consider vital is not as important to him as she is.

If she leaves, he will have almost nothing left.

Even so, on the scales between them, Fu Linzheng still placed all the weights without reservation, never considering the consequences.

Seeing the countless digits in her bank account balance, Rong Weiyue felt a sense of awe, as if she had suddenly become a multi-millionaire.

This is more money than Qingyue Pavilion could earn in several lifetimes...

Rong Weiyue was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of money, but she knew that while she could spend Fu Linzheng's money, she couldn't just give up. The studio still needed to be open, and her career still needed to continue.

After returning from Russia, the design department began to refine the jewelry design. In the past few days, the craftsmen in the workshop have also been rushing to finish the "Frost and Snow Chant" jewelry. Rong Weiyue is extremely busy, overseeing every step of the process, and has been feeling unwell.

For some reason, her cold was getting better very slowly. She had been coughing ever since she returned from Russia. Fu Linzheng learned many nourishing soups for her and brewed them for her every day in different ways. He also made sure she ate well and rested on time. She could only take it slow and manage.

A few days later, the filming of "Shuang Xue Yin" was launched.

At a film and television base on the outskirts of Beijing, a red carpet stretched from the street corner to the center of the square, where a sea of media and fans gathered. Actors and the main creative team were present to sign autographs and take photos. Rong Weiyue, as one of the jewelry manufacturers, was naturally invited to attend.

Fu Linzheng was supposed to drive her to the scene, but she was afraid of exposing their relationship, so she got out of the car some distance away from the scene.

After a while, the event began. The host introduced the production team, actors, and behind-the-scenes crew, and then invited producer Fu Linzheng to speak on stage.

Amidst thunderous applause, the man walked onto the stage. He wore an exquisitely tailored three-piece black suit with a dark gray woolen overcoat. He was tall and slender, with an untamed and flamboyant demeanor.

As the heir of Mingheng Group and a hunter in Beijing's top social circles, Fu Linzheng is always at ease, whether on the sports field or in business settings like this, making him seem unapproachable.

He thanked every staff member, both in front of and behind the camera, for their hard work, and also thanked investors and media friends for their support.

The man looked down at the audience, his voice deep and resonant: "I believe this is a work that can represent the beauty of the East and is truly moving. I wish the crew of 'Frost and Snow Chant' a successful start to filming and great success."

The audience erupted in applause. Rong Weiyue watched from below the stage, recalling the scene of his opening speech. At this moment, he was more composed and mature than the arrogant and unrestrained youth he once was, as if he had settled down after weathering the storm and stood firmly on the top of the clouds.

Unconsciously, a little pride welled up in her heart.

However, the most important thing for her right now is to make herself better.

After the opening ceremony, Rong Weiyue learned that she had a special interview with the media, arranged by the production company. When asked about her views on filigree inlay, she said gently, "This is an intangible cultural heritage craft that has been passed down in our country for thousands of years. It embodies the aesthetics and emotions of the Chinese nation. I am grateful to the production team for giving filigree inlay such a stage. I hope that through this work, more young people will see, understand and love this traditional craft."

Remembering, she smiled and nodded: "Thank you for your answer, Miss Rong."

The interview went smoothly, and the evening was the launch party. Near the end, she received a message from Fu Linzheng on her phone:

Wait for me at the gate, I'm going home.

Rong Weiyue tapped the screen: 【Okay.】

She walked to the hotel entrance. A cold wind was blowing. She wrapped her coat tighter around herself. Several men from the film crew drove by.

Those who noticed her at the opening ceremony or tonight's party couldn't resist striking up a conversation:

"Miss Rong, are you alone? Shall I take you home?"

"Miss Rong, I can give you a ride. It's not easy to get a taxi here."

"Miss Rong..."

She politely declined them all.

Soon, a black Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ came into view, its headlights on, its body sharp and flamboyant, making no attempt to hide its high-profile nature, and stopped next to her.

With no one around, Fu Linzheng got out of the car and walked over to tease her: "Rong Weiyue, I've discovered that you're the one who's capable."

Rong Weiyue: "...?"

"You also said I get hit on all the time. I drove from the parking lot across the street in less than five minutes and I saw six cars parked in front of me. If I had been any later, were they planning to turn this place into a half-car show?"

Rong Weiyue couldn't help but press down her lips, looking at this jealous person, and said gently, "But none of them are the people I'm waiting for. I'm only waiting for you to take me home."

Upon hearing this, Fu Linzheng turned his gaze away, his lips about to curve into a smile, but he forcefully suppressed it.

Rong Weiyue peeked over and said, "Fu Linzheng, you don't have to hold back if you're happy."

The man scoffed lazily, turning to glare at her: "Which eye of yours saw me happy?"

Is this person's mouth only soft when kissing...?

Fu Linzheng opened the car door for her. "Alright, if you want to go home, why are you standing there like an idiot and not getting in the car?"

Rong Weiyue got into the car with a smile. The Bugatti drove off, and Fu Linzheng tapped the steering wheel lightly with his fingertips: "Explain yourself. You came over to say hello tonight, why did you leave after only a couple of words?"

That evening, the props team leader took her to toast the senior leaders. Rong Weiyue left after saying only a few words, leaving him unable to speak to her for the entire day.

Thinking about tonight's scene, Rong Weiyue's face flushed: "I'm not used to it."

"What."

"You...you've been flirting with me the whole time."

Fu Linzheng laughed: "How can you be so narcissistic? You think I'm flirting with you just because I glanced at you a few times? Just admit that you have impure thoughts."

"..."

Even though his gaze was menacing and aggressive, and his words were meaningful, and there were other people around, she was afraid that their relationship would be exposed at any moment.

Rong Weiyue ignored him, thinking of something else: "Did you arrange my interview after the opening ceremony today?"

"Hmm, what's wrong?"

Rong Weiyue smiled faintly: "I didn't expect that someone as lowly as me would get an exclusive interview. It will definitely increase the visibility of our Qingyue Pavilion."

Fu Linzheng raised an eyebrow and said, “What is a small karami? Isn’t the main designer of the jewelry important? Moreover, filigree inlay, an intangible cultural heritage technique, is also a signature for ‘Frost and Snow Chant’. We are cooperating and achieving mutual success.”

Rong Weiyue was shocked. At first, she thought that Qingyue Pavilion was able to design accessories for "Frost and Snow Ballad". In the eyes of the production team, it was because they had climbed a high branch and had to curry favor with them. But in Fu Linzheng's eyes, they were equals and needed each other.

She nodded with a smile, coughing. Fu Linzheng turned up the temperature, and as the car turned a corner, he asked, "Let's go to the supermarket? The fridge at home is empty."

"OK."

Ten minutes later, they arrived at the supermarket. Fu Linzheng parked the car and said calmly, "Get me a bottle of water from the glove box in front."

Rong Weiyue opened it, took out a bottle of water, and saw two boxes of medicine at the bottom.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be cetirizine.

Anti-allergy medication.

She paused, taken aback.

After getting out of the car, Fu Linzheng walked to her side. Before she could speak, he put his arm around her waist and suddenly leaned down to kiss her.

She was momentarily stunned, her eyelashes fluttering, and she shyly nestled in his arms.

There was no one around the parking lot, and the warm yellow streetlights enveloped them.

After a long kiss, Fu Linzheng touched her cheek. Her face was flushed, and she was a little caught off guard: "What's wrong..."

He said in a low voice, "It's nothing, we haven't kissed all day."

He's been holding back all day.

Her heart pounded like a drum. Fu Linzheng took her hand and said, "Let's go."

The two walked toward the supermarket. Rong Weiyue's thoughts were still on the car. She asked curiously, "Fu Linzheng, I just saw cetirizine in your car."

He glanced down at her. "What's wrong?"

Rong Weiyue's heart felt like a piece of cotton candy being roasted. She asked softly, "At Xu Chengguang's wedding banquet that day, I had a seafood allergy. The hotel staff brought me this medicine. Actually, you asked them to bring it, right?"

Fu Linzheng responded casually, "Just realized it now?"

It really was him...

She remarked on how the hotel happened to have cetirizine, and how quickly it was delivered.

How did you know I had an allergic reaction?

"I saw you eat that meatball, and then your face turned so red. Was it an allergic reaction or something else?"

"So you went out to buy that box of medicine..."

Fu Linzheng said calmly, "You had an allergic reaction before, so I kept this medicine in all my cars after that."

Once during high school, Rong Weiyue accidentally ate shrimp at school. Her face turned bright red and a large lump appeared on her neck, which terrified him. He carried her to the infirmary immediately. After that, he always kept this medicine in his schoolbag and in all his cars, and changed it regularly.

Although he didn't know the meaning of doing this before, and it was pretty stupid, thankfully, she's back by his side now.

Upon hearing this, Rong Weiyue felt a warm current surge through her heart. That day at the dinner table, they hadn't spoken a word. He was sitting opposite her, and she even felt that she disliked him so much that she didn't want to look at him again.

But he noticed immediately that she was allergic.

So when she met him in the corridor that day, he had actually come to check on her and even packed her some food, worried that she might be hungry...

Fu Linzheng met her slightly reddened gaze, smiled and ruffled her hair: "Alright, hold back your thanks, it was so long ago."

He said nonchalantly, "If you want to thank me, just be more proactive in the future and let me see your sincerity."

She blushed and bit her lip: "What do you mean by 'taking the initiative'..."

He glanced at her lazily: "Of course, it's all-encompassing, taking initiative from day to night. Figure it out yourself, see if you can be a little more self-aware of being married."

"..."

Rong Weiyue's gaze fell on his hand, and after a few seconds she took his arm and leaned close to him: "Is this considered being considerate?"

A few seconds later, Fu Linzheng opened his palm, interlocked his fingers with hers, and smiled with a slight smirk: "I guess it's barely acceptable. Keep it up."

Their fingers intertwined, her heart pounding, her dimples curving as she walked forward with him.

Outside the supermarket, there was a nut and dried fruit shop, its aroma filling the air. She glanced at it a few more times, her mouth watering, when Fu Linzheng's lazy voice sounded overhead: "Want some?"

"Hmm." He figured it out already?

“You still have a cold, so eat less since it’s hot,” Fu Linzheng handed her the phone. “I’ll wait for you outside.”

Okay, what would you like to eat?

"Whatever, I'll eat what you can't finish."

Rong Weiyue agreed and went inside to browse around. After she finished shopping, she returned to Fu Linzheng's side, and he asked, "What did you buy?"

She showed him the bag: "Pecans, hickory nuts, cheese sticks, and freshly roasted chestnuts. I ate one and it was so sweet. Would you like to try some?"

Just then, a young woman ran out of the store, laughing and rushing to a man, saying excitedly, "Honey, honey, I bought some roasted chestnuts, they're so sweet, can I feed you one?"

The man smiled and agreed. The woman smiled and peeled one, feeding it to him. It was especially sweet.

The conversation was almost identical, but even more intimate than theirs.

Rong Weiyue's ears burned. After the couple left, she clutched the bag, and above her head, the man's leisurely, wistful voice echoed:

"So this is what normal interaction between married couples is like? I've learned something new; it's the first time I've ever seen anything like this."

Rong Weiyue: "..."

She had never been so proactive in acting coquettishly before. Her face flushed as she rubbed the bag. Fu Linzheng looked at her lazily.

“Rong Weiyue, we’ve gotten our marriage certificate after all. Shouldn’t you learn from this? After all, someone just said that we should be more self-aware.”

Rong Weiyue met his gaze, and her heart fluttered with joy. But since they were outside and no one was passing by, she took a roasted chestnut from her bag and, like the couple before, offered it to his lips.

Fu Linzheng bent down and took a bite, chewing slowly and deliberately. Rong Weiyue asked awkwardly, "Is it sweet?"

"good."

"Then... let's go."

As soon as she finished speaking, she tried to slip away, but Fu Linzheng grabbed her. He looked down at her intently, his eyes narrowing.

"That's it? You only learned half of what others did? So insincere?"

She stammered, feigning ignorance, "What else..."

With no one around, Fu Linzheng pulled her into his arms, leaned down to look at her closely, his breath hot and his voice deep and seductive:

"What about calling me 'husband'? You've stopped?"
