Chapter 17

Chapter 17

Faced with his indifference, Jian Lu clenched her fists tightly, and the anger in her heart had reached its peak.

As I turned around and chased after him, I pondered the content of the phone call I had just overheard. Damn it, I didn't expect that after so long, he still didn't give up.

If he didn't want to use Rong Xi to lure out that bitch, then he would remove the bait from his hand and see what else he could do.

Fortunately, he had someone keeping an eye on Rong Xi's news, so he didn't have to spend any more time investigating.

Seeing Lian Sixuan about to go upstairs, Jian Lu trotted over and hugged him from behind. She leaned against his back, her tone revealing a hint of grievance as she whispered, "Sixuan, why have you been so cold to me lately? Are you blaming me for not taking good care of Rong Huan?"

After Rong Huan disappeared, Jian Lu cried in front of Lian Sixuan more than once, regretting that she had not taken good care of Rong Huan, and she also mentioned the affection between herself and Rong Huan many times.

And because she fell in love with Lian Sixuan, she had to feel guilty about the friendship, and she burst into tears every time, which made Lian Sixuan sigh at his deep love and Rong Huan's ruthlessness.

Although he was already annoyed enough, Lian Sixuan was still softened by her crying and replied patiently: "Xiaolu, I'm sorry, I've been in a bad mood recently, please don't think too much about it."

As she spoke, she gently pried open his hands that were wrapped around her waist and walked upstairs again.

In the past, Jian Lu might have really believed his perfunctory words, but now, he already knew how much that bitch Rong Huan meant to him, so how could he believe it again?

After a moment of silence, he spoke again: "Sixuan, please don't let me down. I gave up everything for you and stayed by your side. You promised me that you would make me happy, you can't break your promise."

Lian Sixuan's heart sank, and he felt a sense of guilt for no reason.

He told himself in his heart that Jian Lu was the person he should cherish, and as for Rong Huan, he was just a tool for revenge.

Jian Lu would not allow anyone to destroy everything he had worked so hard to obtain, even if he was dead.

Without telling Lian Sixuan, he went to the hospital alone early the next morning.

Using his connections in the hospital, he easily found the ICU ward where Rong Xi was, and easily went to Rong Xi's bedside in his doctor's uniform.

The man was wearing a large respirator that covered his face. He hesitated for a moment, then leaned over and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the words "Rong Xi" clearly written on the headboard.

He took off his mask, revealing a face that was not hiding its sarcasm, and snorted coldly: "You seem to be living a comfortable life. There are people taking care of you here. Poor your brother..."

When the person on the hospital bed heard this, he suddenly opened his eyes wide and stared at the people on his side.

Soon, Jian Lu realized something was wrong. He stepped forward and took off the respirator on the man's face. Then, with his eyes wide open, he shouted, "Who are you? Why are you here?"
