Chapter 10 Lilac Classics

Chapter 10 Lilac Classics

At nine o'clock in the evening, Fu Yanle came out of the small building.

He had changed his clothes but hadn't removed his makeup, and he was wearing a white woolen hat. He was absentmindedly looking down, his long, thick eyelashes drooping listlessly. He looked so beautiful and fragile as he fell into Yu Jingchen's gaze.

"Sir." The butler nodded to Yu Jingchen and turned to walk towards the garage without hesitation. He was going to drive himself and enjoy the romance of solitude.

Fu Yanle looked up at the sound and stopped a few steps in front of Yu Jingchen. Yu Jingchen's coat hem was around his knees. Fu Yanle looked up along the wrinkle-free coat and saw the cream-colored flower basket in Yu Jingchen's hand, with clusters of blue-purple flowers inside.

The flower basket looked sweet and elegant, but it didn't quite match Yu Jingchen's all-black outfit; instead, it created a playful sense of contrast.

Fu Yanle walked over, and Yu Jingchen handed him the flower basket, saying, "I didn't know what kind of variety you liked, so I picked the Classic Lilac. At least the color suits your taste."

Fu Yanle hugged the flower basket and rubbed a petal with his thumb. Su Fengyao used to send him flowers often, all red roses. He used to find it romantic, and of course, he didn't deny the charm of red roses in love, but the thought still made him feel a little nauseous.

Yu Jingchen looked down at Fu Yanle and said, "If you don't like it, tell me what you like so I can avoid making the same mistake again."

Fu Yanle didn't actually have a particular favorite variety. He looked up and smiled, "Alright, from now on I like the Classic Lilac. Brother Chen is indeed Brother Chen, very prescient!"

"You're such a chatterbox." Yu Jingchen reached out and ruffled Fu Yanle's hat, his hand getting pricked by the soft fabric. He curled his fingers slightly, then turned and opened the passenger door. "Let's go."

Fu Yanle sat down with the flower basket in his arms. Just as he was about to reach for his seatbelt, he saw Yu Jingchen's hand fasten the seatbelt for him with practiced ease.

The whole process took no more than five seconds, but they had at least two seconds of breaths catching up with each other.

Fu Yanle's heart raced at this realization, and his hand, which was resting on the flower basket, clenched slightly, accidentally plucking a petal. His fingertips felt smooth as the petal fell gently to his feet.

Yu Jingchen seemed oblivious to this subtle reaction and gently closed the car door.

When Gu Jiming came out, he saw the car's rear end. "Is there anyone in the crew who can afford this car?" He wouldn't even buy one.

"Didn't Young Master Fu just leave?" The assistant, who also recognized Fu Yanle, reasonably guessed, "It might have been Young Master Fu?"

“He only buys flashy sports cars; this understated, luxurious black one isn’t his style.” Gu Jiming paused after speaking, then pulled out a cigarette and cursed irritably, “Damn it, I’ve been filming for ages, and Fu Yanle hasn’t said a word to me!”

In the past, Fu Yanle would definitely have joined him, excitedly sharing their "daily love stories" and praising Su Fengyao as the best man in the universe. But today, he was indifferent to Su Fengyao, and when he did speak to him, it was in a sarcastic tone.

The assistant guessed, "It's understandable that Young Master Fu is in a bad mood."

“It’s not me who’s cheating on him, so why is he acting like a proud eagle in front of me?” Gu Jiming took a deep drag and blew out a puff of smoke. “I always feel like there’s something wrong with the way he looks at me.”

That look of disgust mixed with a hint of mockery... he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but Fu Yanle had never looked at him like that before. He'd only been gone for a little over a month, how had Fu Yanle changed so much?

The phone in his pocket vibrated. Gu Jiming took it out and looked at it, then immediately let out a cold laugh.

Knowing the young master's temperament, the assistant tentatively asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing much." Gu Jiming stubbed out his cigarette. "That bastard Su Fengyao dared to let me wear a green hat, I'll make him bleed tonight."

Assistant: ...Although, but, that's not how you use "seeing blood"!

Fu Yanle originally thought that Yu Jingchen was going to take him to some high-end restaurant for a French candlelight dinner, but he didn't expect that after driving all the way, he would arrive at a familiar place - Yu's garage.

Fu Yanle got out of the car and followed Yu Jingchen, asking, "Why did you bring me back?"

Yu Jingchen asked, "Where do you want me to take you?"

“It’s not that I want to go anywhere.” Fu Yanle said, holding the flower basket, “Other CEOs make people happy by taking them to the Ferris wheel of an amusement park, the rooftop of a Western restaurant, or the double bed in a presidential suite, or by buying antiques, giving them jewelry, and letting them wear diamond rings. Brother Chen, you haven’t learned any of the essence. You’re not a qualified CEO!”

"You've worked so long today, and you still have the energy to run around?" Yu Jingchen stood in front of the shoe cabinet, bent down and placed the slippers in front of Fu Yanle's feet. "If you want to go, I'll take you tomorrow."

Fu Yanle suddenly had the bizarre feeling that "he was the son and Yu Jingchen was the father" and "the father was coaxing his son: 'I'll take you to the amusement park tomorrow.'" He quickly took off his shoes and said in his slippers, "I didn't say I was going."

"As for the diamond ring," Yu Jingchen said, taking out a velvet box as Fu Yanle looked increasingly bewildered, "we've already registered our marriage, so we should have this."

Fu Yanle's gaze fell on the pair of rings in the box, and he couldn't help but purse his lips.

“I designed the ring myself. It’s not as complicated or exquisite as the ones on the market, but it’s unique.” Yu Jingchen raised his eyes, his tone slightly somber. “Yanle, I hope you won’t mind.”

The housekeeper, who was hiding in the distance selling air conditioners, glanced over upon hearing this and noticed that her husband's posture was still upright, but too upright, with his shoulders tense.

It's understandable, since the fledgling "designer" Yu only has Fu Shao as his judge. Whether to approve or reject is entirely up to Fu Shao's word.

Fu Yanle snapped out of her daze and said somewhat awkwardly, "You've prepared so thoroughly, it makes me seem like I haven't been attentive enough..."

Although he didn't really care, since it was just a marriage of convenience, he didn't expect Yu Jingchen to be so thorough, making even a marriage of convenience seem more real than a real one.

I was careless! There's a terrifyingly powerful figure in the world of contract marriages!

"It's alright." Yu Jingchen's eyelashes drooped slightly, his earnest and focused gaze resting lightly on Fu Yanle's eyes, gentle yet firm. "Would you like to wear it?"

"Oh!" Fu Yanle quickly slung the flower basket over his arm, picked out one of the flowers, and said, "Shall I put it on you first?"

“Okay.” Yu Jingchen finally loosened his grip on the velvet box and then extended his left hand.

Fu Yanle grasped Yu Jingchen's hand and found it to be truly beautiful. Ah, no, he quickly suppressed his masculine instincts and slipped the ring onto Yu Jingchen's ring finger.

Yu Jingchen's other fingers curled slightly, and when they inadvertently brushed against Fu Yanle's hand, both of them stiffened involuntarily.

Fu Yanle released Yu Jingchen's hand naturally and unpretentiously, and extended his left hand, "Brother Chen, help me put it on."

His fingers were long and slender, white, with neatly trimmed nails that tinged with pink—clean and beautiful. Yu Jingchen pushed the ring inward, pressed his thumb lightly against the back of Fu Yanle's hand, and then gently released it.

The cool ring brushed against the inside, finally settling at the innermost point. In that instant, Fu Yanle felt a sense of confinement. He quickly raised his hand, feigning nonchalance, "Does it look good?"

"It looks good." Yu Jingchen said with great pleasure. "It suits you very well."

"I think so too!" Fu Yanle picked up the flower basket again. "Thank you, Brother Chen. Shall I go upstairs now?"

Yu Jingchen said, "Xiao Qiao told me you only had a cup of coffee and a small cake this afternoon. Would you like some late-night snacks?" He paused, "I've prepared white peach rose wine for you."

Fu Yanle was immediately tempted. "Let's pour a little wine, don't say no, let's clink glasses and all our worries will fly away! What do you want to eat? Barbecue or hot pot!"

"Hot pot," Yu Jingchen said. "Let's go."

Fu Yanle opened his mouth exaggeratedly, "Brother Chen, you can eat hot pot? You look like a human species that doesn't eat human food and only drinks a few drops of dew."

“That’s not human, it’s a frog.” Yu Jingchen pulled out a chair, gesturing for Fu Yanle to sit down. “Besides, I’m not widowed now.”

"Hehehehe!" Fu Yanle laughed as he handed the flower basket to the butler beside him. "Brother Qiao, could you please put it in my bedroom so it doesn't smell like hot pot?"

The name "Brother Qiao" instantly made the butler feel like he was sitting on pins and needles. He took the flower basket and said gently, "Young Master Fu, please just call me Butler. Every time Young Master Fu calls me that, my professionalism improves."

Fu Yanle gave a thumbs up, "You're truly inspiring! I admire people like you who are always striving to improve themselves!"

The housekeeper gave a mysterious, wry smile, turned around, grabbed the flower basket, and quickly fled the dining room.

The servants quickly set the hot pot and side dishes on the table. Fu Yanle stared at the bright red, bubbling spicy broth and couldn't help but swallow.

Yu Jingchen sat down opposite him and pried open the cork of the wine. Fu Yanle glanced at the hot pot and then at Yu Jingchen; for a moment, the aroma filled his mouth and his eyes.

With delicious food and beautiful women in front of him, he is truly the happiest man in the world!

Yu Jingchen poured half a glass of wine, pushed it in front of Fu Yanle, and said, "Try it."

"Thanks, Brother Chen." Fu Yanle tilted his head back and took a big gulp of the liquor. As it went down his throat, he said in surprise, "Hey, isn't this the kind of liquor I used to drink at bars all the time?"

Although Fu Yanle frequents bars, he only goes to the one owned by Lu Minghe. It has private rooms and a bartender who makes him special homemade drinks—the kind not sold to the public. He's been drinking that drink for years; there's no way he could be wrong!

Yu Jingchen said calmly, "Young Master Lu said this bottle of wine is unique and worth ten million."

"What?!" Fu Yanle jumped up. "You gave it to me?"

Although this wine can bring him spiritual satisfaction, from a business point of view: this wine is worthless, ten million is more like ten thousand!

Yu Jingchen nodded, "Of course."

"Damn it, this dog is trying to rip you off!" Fu Yanle slammed his fist on the table. "I'm going to twist off his head and put it in a hot pot!"

The stolen money can only be his!

Yu Jingchen looked at Fu Yanle with a smile in his voice, "He said he's your family member, and if I don't show any appreciation, it means I don't value you."

"Damn." Fu Yanle clenched his buttocks and sat down, letting out a weak, eager burp.

“Brother Chen, have you ever considered that you are more suitable to be my godfather than my husband?”
