Chapter 32 Deprivation of Privacy

"Give it to me," Mother Wen said, stretching out her hand as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

What she asked for was none other than Wen He's cell phone.

Seeing this, Wen He shook her head slowly in fear and hid her phone behind her back.

"Give it to me, don't make me say it a third time."

Wen's mother frowned, and her slightly angry tone made Wen He take a half step back.

"Mom... I've done everything... please give me some privacy..." he pleaded pitifully.

Wen He never expected that even after he had gone to such lengths, his mother would still try to deprive him of even the last bit of his privacy.

From getting up at six in the morning to going to bed at midnight, Wen He hardly stopped during that time.

The only rest time is a brief respite on the bus to and from work.

He basically took care of everything in the house, big and small, inside and out, all by himself.

Wen He didn't say anything about any of this, and never complained.

Now……

He just wanted a little privacy.

"Is there a problem with me getting my phone back?"

"Don't forget whose house you live in, whose food you eat, whose clothes you wear, and whose money you use."

"You still have no privacy?"

"If you've hidden anything shady on your phone, hand it over right now!"

Wen He's pleas had no effect whatsoever.

The more he tried to hide it from his mother, the more she wanted to see it.

Wen's mother wanted to tell Wen He who really made the decisions in this family.

"…………"

Wen He remained silent, her head bowed.

This was the only way he could silently resist.

"Hurry up and take it out!"

Wen's mother suddenly roared, startling Wen He so much that his body trembled violently, but he still showed no intention of handing over the phone.

"I'd like to see what kind of shady stuff you're hiding on your phone."

Seeing that Wen He didn't make a move, Wen's mother directly reached out and snatched it.

"Mom...please..." Wen He's eyes were filled with tears, her right hand gripping the phone tightly.

Snap!

A resounding slap landed on his face.

Stunned by the slap, Wen He's phone was also taken away by her mother.

Wen He lowered her head, a bright red handprint on her cheek burning with pain.

She carefully examined every app on her phone.

When Wen's mother opened Pinduoduo and saw the dazzling array of cute dolls, her brows furrowed even more deeply.

Opening the "Historical Footprints" section, it was discovered that Wen He had been browsing these types of products for the past two days.

Upon seeing this, Wen's mother sneered, "So you have someone you like, huh?"

As she spoke, she opened Wen He's WeChat again and saw the girl he had pinned to the top of his chat list.

She read through their chat messages one by one.

Their conversation consisted mainly of everyday things, and they didn't talk about anything particularly important.

Feeling somewhat bored, Wen's mother tossed her phone onto the bed and couldn't help but sneer, "Look at yourself! You think you can have your cake and eat it too?"

"I don't know what you're hiding. If there's even a hint of ambiguity in your conversations, I might even compliment you a couple of times."

"They've been hiding it so diligently, I thought there was some progress, but it turns out it was all wishful thinking."

"That's true. Who would be blind enough to fall for you? What do you have to offer?"

"Oh right, I think so too. They're quite good at housework."

Her mother's sarcastic taunts and mockery ruthlessly shattered the little self-confidence Wen He had painstakingly built up.

That familiar feeling of inferiority enveloped him once again.

Wen He felt like a rat in a sewer, who thought he was living under a bright and sunny grassland just because a ray of light shone in.

perhaps……

He shouldn't have believed he deserved to be saved in the first place.

At this moment, Wen's mother reached out her hand to Wen He once again.

Wen He was stunned for a moment, then raised her head like a puppet, her slightly blurred vision looking at her mother.

"Why are you looking at me? Isn't it obvious enough? Hand over the money," Wen's mother said coldly.

“I have no money…” Wen He said.

"No money?" Mother Wen narrowed her eyes, then roared, "Why are you looking at those things if you have no money! Do you think I'm stupid!"

Wen He was so frightened that he stood there in a panic, not knowing what to say.

"What's all the noise about?" Mr. Wen walked over with an impatient look on his face.

"That kid's gotten too big for his britches. He's secretly hidden some money somewhere, trying to buy gifts for his little girlfriend!" Mother Wen emphasized the word "little girlfriend."

"How much is hidden?"

Upon hearing that Wen He had hidden money, Wen's father's face immediately darkened.

His tone turned icy, and his gaze toward Wen He seemed to want to devour her.

"I didn't hide any money... I was just looking... I wanted to wait until I got paid..." Wen He's voice was as low as a mosquito's buzz, and she didn't dare to look her father in the eye.

"I've said it before, all my salary will be deposited into my account. Are you trying to hide it?!" Mr. Wen questioned.

"No, no, no... I dare not..."

"Then why are you looking at these?"

This question left Wenhe speechless.

Facing her parents, Wen He had racked her brains and tried her best to lie.

Such a clumsy lie not only failed to extricate him, but instead entangled him even more deeply.

He was extremely nervous, his mind racing, trying to find a relatively perfect excuse to get away with it.

But Wen He's flustered appearance basically confirmed that he was lying.

"You should know very well what will happen if I find out you lied to me."

"I'm giving you one last chance. Take it out, or I'll have to take action."

With a fierce glint in his eyes, Wen's father gave a final warning.

Wen He felt a suffocating fear, and her body trembled slightly uncontrollably.

"Dad...can I keep twenty...I only need twenty...please..."

Snap!

Before Wen He could finish speaking, another resounding slap landed on the same spot.

Its force far exceeded that of the slap from Wen's mother.

Wen He's mind went blank for a moment, and her pupils trembled in her eye sockets as if an earthquake had struck.

"Don't try to negotiate with me, just take it as I tell you to."

Mr. Wen said in a deep voice, as if this were just a small warning.

Wen He grabbed her phone from the bed, shoved her parents aside, and ran straight out.

The last glimmer of light and warmth in his heart was ruthlessly extinguished at this moment.

"You run! If you dare to step out of this door today, I'll break your legs!" Father Wen roared like an enraged beast.

Wen He paused at the door for a moment, then rushed out.

"Damn it! He's really gotten too big for his britches! When he gets back, I'll beat him to a pulp if I don't make sure he's thick-skinned!"

This was the first time Wen's father had failed to subdue Wen He, and he was quite angry at Wen He's resistance.

And all of this...

They were all recorded by a hidden pinhole camera lurking in the corner.
