Wanwan shook her head slightly, thought for a moment, then leaned close to Zhu Manqing's ear and whispered to her:
"Mom, I feel like Lele is a little different than usual today."
Zhu Manqing thought it was just a minor squabble between the children and was still listening to her daughter with a smile.
But after Wanwan told her everything that had happened that day, the smile on her face vanished instantly.
"You mean, Lele's cousin came to take him to school today?"
"Yes, Lele not only has his aunt take him to school, but he also calls her aunt 'Mom'!"
Looking at her daughter's bewildered face, Zhu Manqing's feelings became increasingly complicated.
She had always felt that this family was a bit strange. Tong Xinyue was clearly Lele's aunt, but she always came to pick up her cousin's child and doted on Lele like a baby.
The relationships within this family are unusually close.
Combined with what Wanwan said about Lele calling Tong Xinyue "Mom", Zhu Manqing was able to roughly guess Lele's background.
The Gu family really knows how to make a mess of things.
However, none of this had anything to do with Zhu Manqing. It was a matter of mutual consent, and outsiders naturally had no right to say anything.
What puzzled her was Lele's story about how her family had suddenly moved into a big house and were living a good life.
There aren't many children in this kindergarten, and the parents all know each other quite well.
Zhu Manqing happened to know something about Tong Xinyue's background and knew that her family wasn't particularly wealthy.
How could someone suddenly leapfrog a social class in terms of wealth in just a few days?
She could only think of two reasons to explain this.
Either Tong Xinyue dumped her cousin and found a rich man, or there's something fishy going on.
Wanwan's father is a policeman, and he often talks about this kind of thing, saying that they just arrested an enemy spy last year.
Zhu Manqing recalled the various details, which matched the changes in Lele's family perfectly.
Although no concrete evidence has been obtained yet, this matter concerns the security of our motherland, and we cannot afford to be complacent about it.
Zhu Manqing took this to heart, squeezed Wanwan's little hand, and whispered some instructions to her.
"Honey, you should keep your distance from Lele from now on, so he doesn't hurt you."
"Also, if you hear Lele say anything strange, remember to tell me as soon as you get home."
Although Wanwan didn't know why her mother suddenly became interested in Lele's affairs, she still obediently nodded in agreement.
"I understand, Mom."

Time flew by, and it was almost the weekend, time for the engagement party.
The engagement was a joyous occasion for the Xie family. Old Mrs. Xie and Zhao Haiyin had specially consulted someone to determine that today was an auspicious day.
Grandpa Xie invited some old comrades-in-arms, Shen Zhihuan's two mentors, and some close relatives. He originally planned to set up two tables in his own courtyard.
However, unable to resist the overwhelming enthusiasm of relatives and friends, and to show their respect, they finally booked a private room at the state-run restaurant with Shen Zhihuan's consent.
Zhao Haiyin and Grandma Xie got up very early in the morning.
The two of them carried the dumplings they had prepared the night before to Shen Zhihuan's room and helped her wash and get ready.
"Today is a special day for our Zhihuan, so we must dress up beautifully."
Grandma Xie stood behind Shen Zhihuan, holding a wooden comb, and gently combed her long hair that was draped over her shoulders.
Her hair, as black and smooth as silk, flowed slowly down her fingertips.
The old lady looked at Shen Zhihuan's slender back with eyes full of affection.
"The thing I regret most in my life is that the Xie family has only had one son per generation. I not only failed to have a daughter, but I also failed to hold a granddaughter."
"I thought I would die with this regret, but I never expected that I would be able to fulfill this dream today."
Zhao Haiyin took the eyebrow pencil and personally helped Shen Zhihuan draw her eyebrows.
Looking at her beautiful face, I was also deeply moved.
"It is our blessing to have such a daughter-in-law. Zhihuan has a deep connection with our family."
Shen Zhihuan's life wasn't very good; she had a terrible family background.
But now, surrounded by two elders, she felt the warmth of family.
Zhao Haiyin and Grandma Xie are her in-laws, but to her, they are more like another mother and grandmother in this world.
Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Shen Zhihuan felt deeply grateful for everything.
"It is my blessing to be able to become family with my aunt and grandma."
"We're family, let's not be so formal."
Zhao Haiyin and Grandma Xie held back their tears and carefully helped Shen Zhihuan with her makeup as if she were their own daughter.
Watching her cool and aloof face gradually become bright and beautiful because of the vibrant color of her lips, the two elders were overjoyed.
"Our Zhihuan is so beautiful, it's such a good deal for Lan Shen."
Shen Zhihuan was also amused and couldn't help but laugh. As the three of them were talking, they heard a commotion outside.
Xie Lanshen's older sister, Xie Youran, came over with her brother-in-law, Luo Mao.
"It's been a long time since I've been to the Xie family's place. I didn't expect it to be even better than I remembered."
Xie Youran is introverted and doesn't talk much, but Luo Mao is a chatterbox.
It's still early, and the guests haven't arrived yet.
Luo Mao wandered around the courtyard, touching and looking at things. He noticed a "double happiness" character pasted on the window of Shen Zhihuan's room, and with a flick of his eye, he deliberately said:
