Upon hearing this, Xie Lanshen felt even more worried. He was about to straighten up to check on her condition when he was suddenly gently embraced.
The head in his arms moved slightly, as if it depended on him, and gently rested against his chest.
"But I feel much better now, can you hold me a little longer?"
Her voice had a heavy nasal tone, which made Xie Lan feel incredibly sorry for her, and his heart almost melted.
"Of course, you can hug me for as long as you want."
He used his deep, magnetic voice to soothe her emotions again and again.
"Don't try to be brave. If anything happens, be sure to tell me immediately."
“I know you are very capable, but I don’t want to see you work too hard. I want to be someone you can rely on.”
Shen Zhihuan gripped his clothes tightly, listening to his steady heartbeat, and calmed down, her heart filled with unconcealed emotion.
"I will. Thank you for being there for me during this time."
This way, she wouldn't feel too depressed or miserable.
The idea of being reborn was too bizarre. She couldn't tell anyone about anything that happened before she died or her plans for revenge.
Shen Zhihuan thought that she would have to keep these secrets to herself forever.
Unexpectedly, Xie Lanshen was able to see through her defenses and embrace her when she was feeling depressed and sad, offering her comfort.
How could Shen Zhihuan not be moved by this?
She had already, without realizing it, completely trusted the person in front of her.
When faced with an emergency, Xie Lanshen was always the first person they thought of.
Shen Zhihuan could arm herself fully with her own strength, but the feeling of having someone to rely on and trust is really good.
After an unknown amount of time, she gently pushed against Xie Lanshen's chest, her face slightly flushed as she lifted her head from his embrace and whispered:
"I'm completely healed now, you can let me go."
With her hair all messed up from rolling it around, her small face had a very serious expression. Xie Lanshen couldn't help but chuckle, and for the first time, he didn't immediately listen to her and let her go.
Instead, he hugged her tightly again and then gently combed her messy hair back into place with his hands.
Once Xie Lanshen confirmed that Shen Zhihuan had returned to the way she was when she first arrived, he released her, took a step back, and nodded in satisfaction.
"It looks great."
As Xie Lanshen stared at her like that, Shen Zhihuan's blush deepened, and she felt an overwhelming sweetness in her heart.
She coughed lightly, bringing the topic back to what had happened before.
"I had a bad feeling about that man. When I came out of the observation room, I accidentally made eye contact with him."
"I've always had a keen sense in this area, and I immediately sensed the murderous intent in his eyes. It was my sixth sense that this person wanted to kill me, but I didn't have any concrete evidence, and I was afraid that my guess was inaccurate, so I didn't say it just now."
After Shen Zhihuan finished speaking, she quickly added:
"But I was just saying it casually, just take it with a grain of salt."
"No, I believe you. All the clues you provided are very useful."
Xie Lanshen took every word Chen Zhihuan said to heart and treated it seriously.
After a moment's thought, he said in a deep voice, "You are now Mr. Song's attending physician, and also a very important person. I will immediately apply to the military to have them send people to protect you and your two masters."
Shen Zhihuan nodded obediently.
"I'll do whatever you say."
Seeing her clear eyes fixed on him, Xie Lanshen couldn't help but chuckle softly.
“I just got back from field training and have some free time. I’ll talk to my superiors and have them personally protect you.”
He deliberately emphasized the word "intimate," instantly giving his otherwise ordinary tone a hint of ambiguity.
Shen Zhihuan was stunned for a long time before she reacted. She couldn't help but glare at him lightly. Knowing that Xie Lanshen was joking with her, she muttered a curse under her breath.
"rogue."
This interruption actually brightened her mood considerably.
Having Xie Lanshen by her side was naturally much safer and more convenient than sending other soldiers to accompany her.
Shen Zhihuan suddenly felt a strong sense of security. She was completely different from the person she was in her previous life.
With so many family and friends standing by her side, loving and protecting her, she will never again find herself isolated and helpless, no matter what happens.
This feeling made Shen Zhihuan feel incredibly at ease.
After the two finished discussing, she glanced at the time and saw that it was getting late, so she quickly got up to go back to the hospital.
"It's getting late. I'll go to the hospital to find my masters first. You go ahead and get busy."
"I don't have anything to do right now, so I can take you there."
Xie Lanshen took down the coat hanging on the rack, stretched out his arm to her, and chuckled softly, "Let's go."
Shen Zhihuan couldn't help but laugh along, gently placing her hand on his arm. The two maintained a comfortable distance as they left the camp together.
We had only been to the hospital for a short while when the two old men started trying to kick us out.
“We thought you went straight home to rest, Zhihuan. We two old men are here to take care of things at the hospital, why are you making all this trouble?”
"That's right, you've had such a bad day. Zhihuan, you should go back and rest. Don't let it leave any psychological scars."
“We just checked on Mr. Song and Driver Wang in the centralized observation room. They are both in stable condition and there are no problems. Zhihuan, you can rest assured. They can come to pick us up tomorrow.”
