Chapter 222 The Real Culprit

Wu Youyou was furious. How could Liu Xiaolan be so careless with herself?

Liu Xiaolan's tears flowed down her cheeks again.

Wu Youyou tenderly hugged her and gently patted her back, trying to soothe her emotions.

"Xiao Lan, Auntie loves you so much. She wants you to be well and live a happy life. You can't give up on yourself because of this. You have to be strong and brave in facing life. Auntie will be watching over you from heaven. She hopes you can live a happy and fulfilling life."

Liu Xiaolan cried in Wu Youyou's arms for a long time before she gradually stopped. She raised her head, looked at Wu Youyou, and a resolute look flashed in her eyes.

"You're right, I can't keep going down like this. I have to be strong, and I have to live well for my mother."

Wu Youyou smiled and nodded. She knew that Liu Xiaolan had emerged from the shadows and was beginning to face life anew.

At this moment, Song Shaojie also arrived.

Seeing Liu Xiaolan like this, he felt a pang of sympathy. He walked up to Liu Xiaolan and said softly:

"Xiao Lan, you have to be strong. I already know what happened to Auntie. I will help you find out the truth and give Auntie justice."

Liu Xiaolan looked at Song Shaojie, a hint of gratitude flashing in her eyes. She knew that Song Shaojie had always cared about her, and now he was standing by her side.

"Thank you, Shaojie," Liu Xiaolan said softly.

Song Shaojie patted Liu Xiaolan on the shoulder, indicating that she didn't need to worry. Then he looked at Wu Youyou and asked:

"Youyou, do you have any thoughts?"

Wu Youyou pondered for a moment, then said:

“I don’t think this is a simple matter. The accident rate in this town is very low, so how could there suddenly be an accident? There must be something wrong here.”

Song Shaojie nodded, indicating his agreement with Wu Youyou's opinion.

“I will find someone to help with the investigation,” Song Shaojie said.

Wu Youyou replied,

"I've already asked Director Chen to handle this matter, and I believe we'll have a result soon."

"I'll help check it out too; I believe it will be faster."

Over the next two days, Song Shaojie also used his network of connections to begin investigating the car accident. Meanwhile, Wu Youyou and Liu Xiaolan started sorting through their aunt's belongings, trying to find some clues.

After several days of investigation, we finally have news!

“Youyou, Xiaolan, Director Chen and I have found out something. Auntie’s car accident that day was not a simple traffic accident, but was deliberately caused by someone.”

Song Shaojie's expression was somewhat solemn.

"What? Did it on purpose?" Wu Youyou and Liu Xiaolan both stood up in surprise.

“Yes, Director Chen checked the surveillance footage from that day, all the vehicles entering and leaving the town, and even expanded the search area before finally finding that person. The photo is already available,” Song Shaojie explained.

Wu Youyou took the photo and looked at it; it was indeed a man with a scar on his face. She asked in confusion,

"You know him?"

Song Shaojie shook his head, indicating that he did not know.

"But I've already had someone investigate, and I believe we'll have results soon," Song Shaojie reassured him.

Wu Youyou and Liu Xiaolan both fell silent. They knew this matter had exceeded their wildest imaginations. Someone would actually harm an innocent person for some purpose.

Over the next few days, Song Shaojie continued his investigation, while Wu Youyou and Liu Xiaolan also began to pay attention to everything around them, trying to find more clues.

Finally, a week later, Song Shaojie brought good news.

"Youyou, Lazybones, I've found the murderer!" Song Shaojie said excitedly.

"Really? Who is it?" Wu Youyou and Liu Xiaolan asked eagerly.

“It’s one of Xiao Yiqing’s subordinates. It must have been that woman who ordered it!” Song Shaojie said through gritted teeth.

"What? It's her!" Liu Xiaolan exclaimed in surprise.

Wu Youyou was also shocked; she never expected that it was Xiao Yiqing who did this.

"Why would she do that?" Liu Xiaolan asked, puzzled.

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault!" Song Shaojie said with a face full of guilt.

"She's absolutely despicable!" Liu Xiaolan said angrily.

"We cannot let him get away with this; we must bring him to justice!" Wu Youyou said firmly.

"Don't worry, the police have already gone to arrest that scarred man!"

Liu Xiaolan excitedly grabbed Song Shaojie's arm, her eyes wide open.

"Song Shaojie, a life for a life! I will make Xiao Yiqing pay the price!"

Looking at Liu Xiaolan, who was filled with hatred, Song Shaojie felt an extreme pang of sorrow.

"If we catch this scarred man, Xiao Yiqing won't be able to escape."

"I'm waiting, I'm waiting for news right now!"

Liu Xiaolan sat in the chair, trembling all over, her hands gripping the armrests tightly.

At this moment, she had only one belief in her mind: to catch the scarred man and make Xiao Yiqing pay the price.

They had been waiting for news from the police, and finally received a call from Director Chen.

They say the scarred man committed suicide out of guilt.

When Liu Xiaolan received the news, he laughed heartily, but his laughter was utterly desolate.

"Suicide? Haha...Suicide means the mastermind can still get away with it, right?"

Looking at the nearly insane Liu Xiaolan, Song Shaojie wished he could avenge her right now.

"Xiao Lan, don't worry, one day I will make the entire Xiao family pay with their lives for your mother."

"No need, you can go. I want to be alone now."

“Little Lazy…” Wu Youyou said worriedly.
