Chapter 25 Pursuing Accountability

Officer Chen pulled Zhao Li away, and she stopped hitting him.

Zhao Li glanced coldly at Zhang Huihui lying on the ground, and then she was furious. She liked boys the most. If it weren't for the damage to her body when she gave birth to Zhang Huihui, which prevented her from having any more children, how could she have never had a son in her life?

Now that she's gotten herself into such a big mess, she can't stand Zhang Huihui no matter what.

The thought of having to pay so much to replace the jade bracelet made her heart ache. After calming down, she tried to figure out how to avoid paying the money.

Zhao Li then feigned a sad expression, looked at the vice principal and Officer Chen, and said apologetically,

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry~ I really got agitated just now. We don't have 580,000 yuan to pay back to them. That would be the death of my daughter and me~"

Thinking of her daughter's expulsion, she looked at the vice principal with a pleading expression.

"Principal, please don't expel my daughter! I beg you!"

The vice principal looked serious. He couldn't take back what he had said, especially since the matter had indeed had a very negative impact.

He felt that if Zhang Huihui were kept at the school, wouldn't that encourage this kind of behavior? If students could make mistakes whenever they wanted, how could the school manage and educate them?

For the sake of the overall situation, the vice principal had no choice but to stand firm in his stance.

"The school has already made a decision to expel Zhang Huihui, and it cannot be reversed!"

Zhang Huihui felt utterly hopeless. She knew that the principal was a man of his word; if he said he would expel her, he would expel her. How could he possibly change his mind just because her mother begged for mercy?

She looked out the window in despair.

Zhao Li rolled her eyes. Since that didn't work, she would try a softer approach.

She immediately knelt down before the principal, her voice trembling as she wept.

"Principal, I beg you! Huihui can't be expelled! She's so young, she has a long road ahead of her. Please, have mercy on her this time!"

Upon seeing this, the vice principal's face darkened. He quickly got up to help Zhao Li up, exclaiming helplessly to himself, "What kind of mess is this?!"

Zhang Huihui violated very serious school rules, and the police have intervened. This matter constitutes a crime.

Furthermore, if such students are not expelled, what will happen if others follow suit?

Do they still care about their school's evaluation? Do they still care about getting their permanent positions?

But seeing how pitiful Zhao Li was, he ultimately softened.

"Zhang Huihui's behavior this time is very serious. The school's decision has been made and will not be changed."

Seeing the genuine sadness and fear on Zhao Li's face, the vice principal softened his voice slightly.

"But she can still take the college entrance examination and her student status will be retained. However, she doesn't need to come to school before that."

When Zhang Huihui heard that she could still take the college entrance examination, she immediately breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that this was the principal's limit.

Having achieved this result, Zhao Li dared not say anything more. "Thank you, Principal, for giving Huihui a chance."

"Don't be too happy yet. If the other party is willing to settle out of court, then there is still room for reconciliation."

Officer Chen reminded Zhao Li that this was the most serious matter.

"If the other party refuses to settle out of court and insists on pursuing legal action against Zhang Huihui, then things will get complicated!"

Legal liability?

Zhao Li didn't understand how there could be legal responsibility. She looked at Officer Chen with a puzzled expression, wanting to know what the worst possible outcome would be. She asked with a worried look,

How serious is it?

Officer Zhang picked up a cup of tea from the table, brought it to his lips, took a sip, and looked at Officer Wang, signaling him to explain.

Officer Wang then added.

"Zhang Huihui just turned eighteen this year, right?"

Yes~

Zhao Li felt very bad.

"Once you turn eighteen, you must bear legal responsibility. If you steal someone else's property and the amount is huge, you will be imprisoned for at least several years!"

Zhao Li's daughter cannot go to jail! Absolutely not!

Zhao Li shouted out once again.

"No, she can't go to jail!"

Officer Chen nearly choked on his tea, feeling quite displeased. What kind of parents were these?

Zhao Li looked at Officer Chen, her voice urgent.

"Let's go find those two classmates and have a serious talk with them!!"

......

Around noon, the sun hid behind thick clouds, making the campus feel less hot. A gentle breeze brushed against our faces, making us feel cool and comfortable.

The willow branches in the air swayed incessantly in the wind.

Wu Youyou, Yang Min, and Liu Xiaolan were enjoying the tranquility of the afternoon under the willow tree.

"At noon, right after lunch, I lean against a big tree, burping contentedly, enjoying the cool breeze, closing my eyes, and taking a nap. It's so refreshing."

Liu Xiaolan narrowed her eyes slightly and let out a sigh.

Wow, this feels so good!

"Yeah~ This wind is making me almost fall asleep."

Wu Youyou leaned her head on Liu Xiaolan's shoulder.

She closed her eyes and lazily enjoyed her lunch break.

A few minutes later.

She didn't hear Yang Min speak, so she slightly opened her eyes and saw Yang Min with her brows furrowed, deep in thought.

Wu Youyou was very curious.

"Yang Min, what are you thinking about?"

Yang Min sounded somewhat angry.

"Ugh, I can't believe I have a deskmate like this. It really makes me feel uncomfortable."

Seeing her indignant expression, Wu Youyou couldn't help but comfort her.

"This isn't your fault; you're a victim too. But by constantly dwelling on it, you're just punishing yourself, you know?"

"Yes, don't punish yourself for other people's mistakes!"

Hearing the two talking, Liu Xiaolan suddenly opened her eyes and began to comfort them.

Yang Min looked at her two friends with a look of relief in her eyes. Fortunately, she had made two such good friends.

Thinking of this, she immediately smiled.

"Okay, I know you mean well, and I'm just really angry. She actually acted like a mad dog at the end, biting people randomly and framing me. She's really something!"

"Alright, stop thinking about it. Everyone has to pay for their mistakes. Zhang Huihui has already paid the price. The school has expelled her, and that's enough."

Yang Min gradually calmed down, and she looked at Wu Youyou and Liu Xiaolan with gratitude.

She was a little unsure and asked doubtfully, "Youyou, are you still going to pursue legal action against Zhang Huihui? If you do, she will definitely go to jail. Forget about the college entrance exam, even if she passes, her resume will have a stain on it, and she won't be able to find a job."

Wu Youyou pondered for a moment, unsure of what to do. Should she pursue the matter or not?

To be honest, Wu Youyou would never forgive Zhang Huihui. She wished she could send all those who wanted to hurt her to the police station.
