Chapter 45 The Disappearance of Public Opinion

In the dormitory, Liu Xiaolan was also planning to go home. Her backpack was already packed, and she was about to open the door when she saw Wu Youyou return looking distracted. She was somewhat surprised, even a little worried.

"Youyou, didn't you go home? Why are you back again?"

Wu Youyou looked at Liu Xiaolan calmly, her face expressionless.

"We're going to the library tonight. We can't let our tutoring fall behind. Tell Yang Min to come along!"

After Wu Youyou finished speaking, she turned away from Liu Xiaolan, walked to her bed, put down her backpack, and then quietly leaned against the bed. She glanced at the clock on her desk. There were still forty-five minutes until the time Song Shaojie had mentioned. During these forty-five minutes, Wu Youyou turned off her phone, squinted her eyes, and waited quietly.

Seeing Wu Youyou like this, Liu Xiaolan felt a pang of heartache, but there was nothing she could do to help, so she could only stay quietly by her side. Wu Youyou didn't speak, and neither did she.

But she still listened to Wu Youyou and sent Yang Min a message on her phone asking her to take a tutoring class.

Yang Min had already been picked up by the driver sent by her family. When she saw Liu Xiaolan's message on the way, she quickly told her driver to turn around and go back to the school.

Song Lan paced anxiously back and forth at home. Wu Maoyan, who had been sitting in a chair with a worried look on his face, saw all the news and rumors about his younger sister disappear from his phone at a visible speed. In an instant, there was not a single news item about Wu Youyou.

Wu Maoyan stood up abruptly.

Song Lan was startled and quickly asked, "What's wrong? Did something happen again?"

Although Wu Maoyan was very puzzled, not understanding why all the trending topics disappeared so suddenly, as if they had never happened, it was good news for his younger sister, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of joy. He looked happily at Song Lan.

"Mom! All the trending topics and comments about my little sister have disappeared online."

"What?"

Song Lan couldn't believe it either, and quickly took out her phone to check the trending topics.

"Sure enough, there's nothing left."

Tears streamed down Song Lan's face as she murmured,

"That's good, Youyou won't have to suffer anymore, that's wonderful!"

Wu Maoyan quickly took out his phone to call Wu Youyou, wanting to tell her the good news, but when he dialed, her phone was switched off.

"Mom! My little sister's phone is off. Is she hiding because she's scared?"

Song Lan was anxious and also dialed Wu Youyou's number with her own phone, but it was also switched off. She looked at Wu Maoyan with heartache.

"This girl must be scared and has hidden herself away. I really want to tell her this news so she won't worry."

After thinking for a moment, Song Lan sent a message to Wu Youyou, telling her that the online uproar had subsided and that she shouldn't worry.

After sending the message, Song Lan finally calmed down and asked in confusion,

"Maoyan, this matter is so big, who has the power to suppress this public opinion?"

"Mom, Father was in a meeting at the company today. Could this be a solution he came up with to deal with these issues?"

After listening to Wu Maoyan's words, Song Lan thought about it carefully and felt it was possible. After all, only her husband could do this. However, she also began to worry.

"Maoyan, this matter might have been handled by your father, which must have come at a great cost!"

Wu Maoyan nodded, indicating that his mother was right.

At this moment, Wu Zhenyuan returned, and Song Lan quickly went up to him and asked,

"Old Wu, all the trending topics and comments about Youyou have disappeared online. Did you have someone handle it for you?"

Wu Zhenyuan was stunned, somewhat incredulous.

"No!"

Wu Maoyan walked over and looked at Wu Zhenyuan with a puzzled expression.

"If it wasn't you, Dad, then who could it be?"

Wu Zhenyuan quickly took out his phone and, like Song Lan, went online to check the trending news. Sure enough, there were none left!

Wu Zhenyuan pondered to himself, who could possibly have such power? After thinking it over carefully, he realized he didn't know anyone with such abilities and methods!

Suddenly, Wei Zhibin came to mind, and he slowly uttered a sentence.

"Could it be him?"

Wu Maoyan pressed on, "Father, who has this ability!"

Wu Zhenyuan gave a bitter smile.

"It's Wei Zhibin, Youyou's future husband!"

Wu Maoyan: "..."

Song Lan: "......"

Wu Youyou, estimating that it was almost time, opened her eyes. Liu Xiaolan quickly stepped forward, handed her a glass of water, and looked at her with concern.

"Youyou, are you alright? Do you want some water?"

Wu Youyou took the water glass from Liu Xiaolan and said softly to her,

"Lazybones, check your phone now. Are there any more news articles about me?"

Liu Xiaolan thought Wu Youyou was confused because she was overly worried, so she spoke cautiously.

"Youyou, what's done is done. Try to think more positively. Let's not look at the news anymore, let's just pretend nothing happened, okay?"

Just as Wu Youyou was about to explain, the dormitory door was slammed open by Yang Min.

Liu Xiaolan saw that it was Yang Min who came in, and fearing that she would frighten Youyou, her tone was very serious.

"Yang Min, could you please open the door a little quieter? Youyou just went to bed."

Seeing that the two women clearly didn't know what was going on online, Yang Min excitedly shouted,

"Youyou, all the news about you and all those nasty comments have disappeared from the internet!"
