Chapter 46 Second Tutoring

After finishing their meal, Wu Youyou and the other two headed to the library with the materials they would be studying that evening, following the course schedule.

Shi Zhan was already waiting in the library, his expression still calm and composed.

Song Shaojie counted the number of people and realized that one table was definitely not enough, so he put two tables together.

"Zhanzhan, let me make this clear first, I'm only here as a companion. If it weren't for the presence of these three beautiful ladies, I wouldn't have bothered coming!"

When Shi Zhan looked at him, his eyes truly seemed to possess the demeanor of a teacher; he stared seriously at Song Shaojie.

"Whatever your reason, you have to take my tutoring seriously. If you're just going to slack off, you can leave now."

Song Shaojie felt a chill run down his spine, and his lips twitched. He was somewhat dissatisfied with Shi Zhan's inhumane management.

"Zhanzhan, you're not very likable when you act like this. You know what level I am in academics. Expecting me to get into university is like asking me to be reborn. The genes are what they are. My parents are not academically inclined either. They gave up on my studies a long time ago. Do you know why they don't push me anymore? — It's because they know their own limitations."

Shi Zhan shook his head, not wanting to discuss this topic anymore, feeling that it was inappropriate to talk about Uncle Song behind his back!

Song Aotian, far away in Kyoto, was having dinner when he suddenly sneezed violently, making the table shake a few times.

"Damn it, which bastard is talking about me behind my back?"

Madam Song placed a piece of braised pork into Song Aotian's bowl, smiling as she looked at him.

"That kid must be missing you. One sneeze is said to mean he misses you, but two sneezes are an insult."

"Oh, really?"

Upon hearing this, Song Aotian was very pleased.

"This kid, I helped him so much, it's only right that I think about my father!"

Just as he was about to pick up the braised pork from the bowl and put it in his mouth, a second sneeze caught him off guard, causing him to drop the braised pork from his chopsticks onto the ground.

Enraged, Song Ao threw down his chopsticks, stood up, and left, shouting angrily as he went.

"That kid has no conscience! I helped him so much, I'm so tired and hungry, and he's still cursing me behind my back. It's outrageous! When he gets back, I'll teach him a lesson. He's infuriating!"

Madam Song frowned as she looked at the table full of food, then shook her head helplessly.

"Sigh~ I guess I'll never be able to change this temper!"

At this moment, Wu Youyou and the others also entered the library.

Shi Zhan watched as they all held their books as instructed and nodded secretly.

Song Shaojie couldn't help but smile when he saw Liu Xiaolan.

"Lazybones, come here and sit over here!"

Liu Xiaolan didn't notice anything amiss and sat down as Song Shaojie instructed.

Yang Min said happily,

"Song Shaojie, those comments online have disappeared, did you know that?"

"Hey~ I know about that! It's just that..."

"It's tutoring time now, so let's not discuss anything else!"

Shi Zhan interrupted Song Shaojie in a cold voice.

Song Shaojie wanted to show off his superiority, but Shi Zhan ruthlessly stopped him. However, seeing Shi Zhan's serious face, he dared not continue.

Helpless, he could only sigh to himself, "Who told me to be afraid of him?"

Wu Youyou looked up at Shi Zhan sitting opposite her. She realized that Shi Zhan hadn't even glanced at her since she came in. Was it because of the trouble she had caused that was giving him a headache, or was it something else? Wu Youyou couldn't figure it out. Although Song Shaojie's father had stepped in to resolve the online issues, she knew in her heart that it was all because of Shi Zhan. If it weren't for him, Song Shaojie's father wouldn't have helped her.

Thinking of this, even though Shi Zhan hadn't even glanced at her, she couldn't be tactless and pretend nothing had happened. So, she looked steadily at Shi Zhan and said very sincerely,

"Thank you!"

Shi Zhan's eyelashes fluttered, but he didn't look up at Wu Youyou. Instead, he flipped through the review materials in his hand.

Liu Xiaolan assumed Wu Youyou was thanking Shi Zhan for letting her join the tutoring sessions, so naturally she wanted to thank Shi Zhan as well. She looked at Shi Zhan sincerely.

"Shi Zhan, I'm very grateful to you for letting us join the study group!"

After Liu Xiaolai finished speaking, he kicked Yang Min with his foot.

Yang Min naturally understood Liu Xiaolan's intentions and quickly echoed them.

"Yes, Shi Zhan, thank you for this!"

Song Shaojie knew that their way of thanking him was different from Wu Youyou's. Besides, even if they were to thank him, they should have included him in the thank-you notes!

Song Shaojie stared intently at Wu Youyou, who, of course, understood his meaning and smiled back at him.

"Thank you too!"

Song Shaojie was finally satisfied.

Liu Xiaolan and Yang Min did not thank Song Shaojie. On the contrary, they felt that thanking Song Shaojie was unnecessary, even though he was Shi Zhan's friend.

Only then did Shi Zhan raise his eyes to look at them.

"The greatest gratitude you can give me is to make sure you thoroughly understand all the tutoring courses I assigned. You can't be lazy or procrastinate; you have to reach my passing grade."

Liu Xiaolan and Wu Youyou nodded in agreement, indicating that they would follow Shi Zhan's lead. Song Shaojie and Yang Min, however, were already under immense pressure and could only secretly complain about Shi Zhan's high demands.
