Chapter 21 Conspiracy (1/2)

Chapter 21 Conspiracy

"Choose. Should I send my adopted daughter to the countryside, or should I send the twins?"

Yun Qiao was not trying to sow discord; she was being open and honest, and her actions were clearly an open conspiracy.

"If you choose the adopted daughter, I'll let her go this time. If you're truly capable, I won't stop you from staying in the city. But you have to think carefully. If she can stay this year, your twin sons might not be able to stay next year. This year's policy is already very strict, and next year's might be even stricter! If you choose the twins, the adopted daughter must leave!"

"Can I not choose?" Her palms and backs of her hands were all made of flesh, and she couldn't bear to choose either side.

Wang Chunhua scratched her head in pain: "Can't we all stay?"

"You're so greedy." Yun Qiao laughed. "The leaders' children have all gone to the countryside, and you still want your four children to stay in the city? What a beautiful dream!"

"I'm saying, since you love Su Lin so much, why not just let her stay and send the twins to the countryside? Boys are tough after all, so a little hardship won't be a big deal."

Just when Wang Chunhua thought this was… okay, Yun Qiao gave her another blow: "But after all, he's your biological child, and he's the lifeblood of this old lady, like a treasure. Would your family agree?"

"Will his father be angry with you? Will he divorce you in a fit of rage?"

"The two kids will definitely be mad, right? After all, they are your biological sons, but their place in your heart is even lower than that of an adopted son. Will they hate you in the future?"

"Does this mean you've been deserted by everyone?"

Yun Qiao's tone was very light, but it felt like a thousand pounds when it hit Wang Chunhua's heart.

Her breath choked and she couldn't catch her breath, and her lips turned pale.

After saying that, Yun Qiao ignored her, walked around her expressionlessly, and went straight into the depths of the alley.

Wang Chunhua was left alone, standing at the entrance of the alley in a daze.

The dim light from the street lamp fell on her face, illuminating her bloodless face and making her expression even gloomier.

[Your voice, your singing~~]

[Forever etched in my heart~]

[Yesterday has passed~]

[It’s hard to meet again after separation~]

[How can I forget your deep affection~]

While tidying up the closet, Su Lin twisted her body and hummed a little tune in ecstasy.

She was in a good mood and was preparing the clothes to wear when she met Lowe tomorrow. She was also thinking about how to dress more beautifully and attractively. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't notice when the door behind her opened.

After humming a song, he turned around and almost bumped into Wang Chunhua who was standing at the door.

Su Lin was startled and covered her chest with her hands: "Mom, why are you walking so quietly?"

Wang Chunhua's face was gloomy. "What are you singing about? What's that about love and the heart? Aren't you afraid that someone will hear it?"

"Oh, I forgot." Su Lin finally remembered that singing this kind of song was not allowed in the 1960s, as it could easily be labeled as capitalist hedonism. Although "Homesickness" hadn't been released at that time, this type of song was considered decadent.

She stuck out her tongue and said coquettishly, "I won't sing anymore."
