The next morning, Feng Juan got up at daybreak, washed up briefly, and went to the kitchen to make a simple breakfast.
Aunt Feng also got up after hearing the noise. Seeing the breakfast on the table, she said a little embarrassedly, "Xiaojuan, you've already prepared the meal. I'm so sorry, I got up late today."
"It's not you who got up late, it's me who got up early." Feng Juan said with a smile, "Yuanyuan, get up and have dinner. We still have to catch the train after dinner."
"Okay." Aunt Feng went into the room to pick up Yuanyuan, and Feng Juan went upstairs to call Qin Lin.
Qin Lin opened his eyes and saw that it was still dark outside. He lay down for a long time before getting up, putting on his clothes and opening the door for Feng Juan.
"Why so early?" His voice was still sleepy. "Young man, I bought my ticket for 8:30, so I have plenty of time. There's no need to rush."
Feng Juan curled her lips and taunted him indifferently, "I'm not like you. I can't be indifferent."
Being criticized so early in the morning made Qin Lin look unhappy, but he remembered that Feng Juan would be leaving soon and didn't want to argue with her, so he abruptly changed the subject: "Have you packed all the things you need to take with you? Don't forget to bring something when you get on the bus."
"I packed it yesterday." Feng Juan glanced at him and said, "Wash your face, brush your teeth, and go downstairs to eat. After dinner, let the waiter take us to the train station."
Xiao Niang was assigned by the company to be Qin Lin's driver.
Qin Lin hummed, "I understand."
After breakfast, the driver took Qin Lin and his wife, Yuanyuan, and Aunt Feng to the train station.
Beijing is the starting station and you can get on the train half an hour in advance.
Qin Lin arranged a soft sleeper car for them. The soft sleeper car was less crowded and more quiet.
Qin Lin sent the person to the car, handed Feng Juan an envelope containing money, and told her not to forget to call him after seeing her daughter. Then he hurriedly got out of the car and went to work.
Feng Juan had long known what kind of person Qin Lin was and was no longer surprised by his behavior.
As the train started moving, Feng Juan became more and more excited.
Along the way, Feng Juan looked at the scenery outside the window, thinking that she would soon be able to see her long-cherished daughter, and her heart was full of anticipation.
The green train drove for a day and a night, and finally arrived at Shanghai Railway Station at ten o'clock on the next day.
Qin Zheng had already answered the call from Qin Lin, so when Feng Juan and the other two got off the train, they saw Qin Zheng standing opposite the exit waiting for them.
The exit was crowded and not a good place to chat, so Qin Zheng took the luggage from Feng Juan and Aunt Feng and led them to the bus stop opposite.
Feng Juan, however, couldn't wait to know the news about her daughter. She asked questions as she walked, chattering on and on, wishing she could find out everything about Yun Qiao's situation at once.
"Xiao Zheng, what's your sister's name? Where is she now? Is she doing well these years? When can you take me to find her?"
Qin Zheng showed no sign of impatience and patiently answered her, "Aunt Feng, my sister's surname is now Ye, and her given name is Yunqiao. She signed up to go to the countryside as an educated youth last October and is now working as a health worker at Farm No. 58 in Songjiang Province."
"Her life these years can only be described as neither good nor bad. Her adoptive father passed away when she was young, and her adoptive mother remarried soon. She grew up with her adoptive grandmother, uncle, and aunt."
"As for when to go to Songjiang Province, we have to wait a few more days." Qin Zheng told Feng Juan about Yun Qiao's deliberate substitution by Wang Chunhua, and explained, "Wang Chunhua's case has been transferred to the court. The verdict will be announced in a few days. I want to wait until her verdict comes out before going to Songjiang."
Following Qin Zheng's words, Feng Juan's heart was gripped tightly and she couldn't let it go.
"Yun Qiao... Yun Qiao..." Feng Juan said with tears in her eyes, "This name is so nice. It makes my heart ache as soon as I hear it."
