Sun Lan didn't wait for anyone's answer and sat down on the bench.
Feng Juan curled her lips and said nothing.
㹏If everyone is sitting down, why are you asking her what she is doing?
"Sister-in-law Zeng Qi is here too." Sun Lan, accommodating both sides, smiled and praised Zeng Qi's daughter, Yang Hongxing: "Your daughter, Hongxing, has really changed a lot since she grew up. She's getting more and more beautiful. She was a tomboy when she was little, but now she's quiet and mature, and she's become a little bit more mature."
Yang Hongxing felt a little embarrassed by the compliment, blushing and whispering, "Auntie Sun, you're too kind."
Zeng Qi didn't bother to criticize the child, but just smiled and said, "This child is shy even when being praised."
After a few pleasantries, Sun Lan turned the topic back to Qin Zheng: "Auntie, why are you and Yun Qiao the only ones here? No one, Captain Qin?"
"My Xiaozhu is going to write a chapter about soldiers guarding the border, but he's running low on material, so he wants to ask Captain Qin for some advice."
"Men and women don't sit together. He's at a different table," Feng Juan said calmly. "As for the writing of the chapter, why not just ask your old man, Old Chen? He's also a soldier guarding the border. You're still family, so it's easy to ask. Why go so far?"
Sun Lan laughed dryly. "It's not that I'm seeking something far away. If my old Chen wasn't as capable as Captain Qin, there would be nothing much to write about his mediocre experiences."
Feng Juan smiled upon hearing this, "Each has his own merits. Qin Zheng is indeed outstanding, but your Lao Chen is not bad either. He has won many military merits, both large and small."
Sun Lan: "But it's not as impressive as Captain Qin's resume."
Feng Juan was a little annoyed.
As neighbors, Feng Juan didn't want to make the relationship with Sun Lan too awkward.
But this person seemed to not understand other people's polite refusal. Did he have to be told something blunt and unpleasant before he would shut up?
"There are tens of thousands of soldiers guarding the border. If I don't write about Qin Zheng, can I not write a chapter on this subject?"
Sun Lan was choked and could only say awkwardly, "Of course not. This is just to make the chapter better."
What else could she say?
It cannot be said that this chapter is completely fictitious and was fabricated only to give Sun Zhu the opportunity to contact Qin Zheng. If Qin Zheng is not written, it is indeed impossible to write a chapter on this subject.
But this is too ugly.
If the matter with Qin Zheng doesn't work out, she still wants to introduce other military officers and cadres to Sun Zhu. She can't block her future path all of a sudden.
Feng Juan: "I didn't ask you, I asked about your Xiaozhu."
Sun Zhu was caught off guard when her name was called. The eyes of everyone at the table were like spotlights, following Feng Juan's words, all fell on her.
Being stared at by a dozen eyes that seemed to see through everything, for a moment she felt as if she was stripped naked and standing on the street being pointed at by people.
Sun Zhu felt extremely embarrassed. She sat there as if she were being pricked by needles, her face flushed red, but she couldn't utter a word.
Of course, Feng Juan's original intention was not to make things difficult for Sun Zhu.
By leaving them speechless, she was also indirectly achieving her goal of making the Sun Lan sisters shut up.
