Fang Lishan strode upstairs and kicked Fang Hui's door open.
Fang Hui cried all night and fell asleep just as dawn was about to break. Now she was lying in bed catching up on her sleep.
She was still half asleep when she heard a loud bang. She shuddered and woke up suddenly. She propped herself up and looked towards the door with a look of horror.
Fang Lishan pointed at Fang Hui's nose and cursed, "Fang Hui, you're still sleeping! Open your eyes and see what time it is! What kind of girl sleeps in the middle of the day?! If you're like this, I wouldn't care if you get beaten to death if you marry into someone else's family!"
"What do you care?" Fang Hui sneered self-deprecatingly: "You're about to sell your daughter! What the hell do you care about?"
Fang Lishan was furious when he heard this: "What did you say? Say it again?!!"
"Say it again, you're selling my daughter, you're selling my daughter, you're selling my daughter?!" Fang Hui was so angry that she almost lost her mind. She blurted out, "Why, you can do it but you can't tell others?"
Fang Lishan slapped Fang Hui in the face, "Unfilial daughter! Shut up!"
Fang Lishan was so angry that he didn't hold back at all. With such great force, he knocked Fang Hui onto the bed.
Fang Hui's ears were buzzing from the beating. She lay on the bed, her scattered hair covering her red and swollen cheeks. Beneath her hair, two finger marks were clearly visible.
Wu Min, who had finally caught up, arrived late. Seeing this, she hurriedly pulled Fang Lishan's arm to stand between him and Fang Hui.
"Lishan, calm down and don't be impulsive. Chen Xizi is still at the Xizi Club, and he has to have lunch with Huihui at noon. If you hit Huihui's face now, Chen Xizi will lose interest when he sees you, and all our previous plans will be wasted."
After persuading Fang Lishan, Wu Min went on to persuade Fang Hui: "Huihui, you're a girl, why are you so stubborn? Your father always responds to soft words and doesn't take any hard ones. Fang Hui shed silent tears, her eyes empty and hopeless: "Listen to my family? If I listen to my family, my life will be ruined!"
Seeing that Fang Hui's words ignited Fang Lishan's anger again, Wu Min quickly reached out to cover Fang Hui's mouth.
"Huihui, you can't say that!"
Wu Min earnestly advised, "You're still young and naive. Your parents don't blame you, but you have to know that your family won't harm you. We do all this for you."
"For me? So you let me marry a bald, perverted man? Is this what you call doing it for me?" Fang Hui laughed in anger.
"What do you mean by 'for me'? It's obviously my dad who's attracted to his family background! He wants to sacrifice my marriage to pave the way for himself!"
"Fang Hui, watch your words!" Fang Lishan glared at her angrily. "Chen Yuzi is a high-ranking government official, and what has he become because of what you said about him?"
Fang Hui covered her burning, swollen, and painful left cheek and sneered, "What did I say? Wasn't everything I said true? Isn't he bald? He's so young, not even thirty, and he already has no hair on top, with only a thinning circle around the sides. If this isn't baldness, what is it?"
