Chapter 460 No Regrets (2/2)

"Thank you." Yan Jingwan took the lunch box, which was still hot.

"Have you got a meal yet?"

Qin Zheng: "I've eaten."

Yan Jingwan said "Oh" and asked him, "Yesterday I saw a big cut on the sleeve of your shirt. Did you sew it up?"

"Sew..." Qin Zheng started to speak, but suddenly thought of something, paused, and changed his words, "Not yet, do you want to help me sew?"

"Okay, leave it to me. I'll go to the logistics department and see if I can borrow a needle." Yan Jingwan asked him, "Are you free at noon? If you are, I can help you make up for it."

"I'm busy at noon." Qin Zheng reported to her: "I have a mission today. The place I'm going is a bit far. I might be back very late."

"Then wait until you're done."

Qin Zheng nodded contentedly: "Okay."

This was the first time Yan Jingwan mended his clothes, and Qin Zheng felt that he could keep it as a treasure and show it to his child when he grows up.

Qin Zheng stood up: "Then I'll leave."

"I send you."

Yan Jingwan put the lunch box aside and was about to stand up when Qin Zheng pressed her shoulders and pushed her back: "No, I won't send you off. Just eat."

Qin Zheng turned and left. Yan Jingwan opened the lunch box. In addition to the vegetables and steamed buns from the cafeteria, there was also a large piece of luncheon meat.

The canned food was probably brought by Qin Zheng from home. He couldn't bear to eat it himself, so he gave it to her.

Yan Jingwan broke the steamed bun, put the luncheon meat in the middle of it, took a bite, and tears almost came out. Her heart was also full.

Chen Rong came back from dinner with a lunch box in her hand.

Seeing Yan Jingwan had already started eating, a surprised expression appeared on his face: "Jingwan, you've started eating, who brought you the food?"

Yan Jingwan ignored her and concentrated on eating her steamed bun.

The two of them were not that familiar with each other. They had only exchanged a few words when they met before. It was only after Qin Zheng came to the art troupe to find her that Chen Rong gradually became familiar with her.

Yan Jingwan didn't know about it before, but later she found out and was extremely disgusted.

So she knew exactly what Chen Rong was thinking.

It was not a pure intersection from the beginning, so there is nothing to regret if it breaks off.

Chen Rong had asked for trouble. She was holding the lunch box with an embarrassed look on her face. A young man stepped forward to help her out: "Comrade Chen, I haven't eaten yet. Can you give me the food you brought? I don't have to go out in the rain again."

Shen Rong breathed a sigh of relief and handed him the lunch box: “Okay, here you go.”

It was completely dark when Qin Zheng came back.

It was dark and he was a man, so it was not convenient for him to go to Yan Jingwan's tent. He was also worried that Yan Jingwan would be waiting for him and did not want her to wait in vain, so he found a female soldier and asked her to tell Yan Jingwan to rest first and mend her clothes tomorrow.

Yan Jingwan had indeed been waiting and had not slept. After receiving the message, she replied to Qin Zheng and asked him to meet at the cafeteria entrance tomorrow morning. Only then did she go to bed with her clothes on.

The next day, the rain stopped and the sky cleared.

Yan Jingwan got up early in the morning, washed up, and went to the cafeteria early with the borrowed needles and thread.

She thought she was early enough, but before she even left the cafeteria, she saw the tall figure standing outside the tent from a distance.

She trotted over: "Why are you here so early?"

Qin Zheng said: "Get up early."

"Did you bring the clothes?" Yan Jingwan asked him.

"I brought it." Qin Zheng handed her the clothes draped over his arm, then went back into the tent, brought out a small stool, and placed it in front of Yan Jingwan: "Sit down and make up."

"good."

Qin Zheng: "You catch up first, I'll go get some food."

Yan Jingwan nodded: "You go ahead, I'll be there quickly."

Qin Zheng turned around and went to line up at the place where he got his meals. Yan Jingwan took out needle and thread, turned over Qin Zheng's clothes, found the scratched part, smoothed it out, and just as she was about to sew, she found that there was already a row of needle holes on it.

...sew it up and then take it apart.

Yan Jingwan couldn't help laughing, and subconsciously raised her head to look in Qin Zheng's direction, looking for his figure.

Yan Jingwan saw Qin Zheng standing at the end of the line. He had an upright posture and stood straight. The sunlight shone on him, reflecting his resolute outline. As if he noticed Yan Jingwan's gaze, he suddenly turned around and looked at her, giving her a faint smile.

The moment they looked at each other, Yan Jingwan felt as if her heart skipped a beat.

After the clothes were mended, Qin Zheng came back after getting his meal.

Yan Jingwan handed the mended clothes to Qin Zheng, who put them on directly. Neither of them said much, and they tacitly ignored the matter of the needle hole.

After finding a place to sit down and eat, Qin Zheng said, "The rain has stopped, and the water level will soon drop. Once the way out is cleared, you can move with the others to a safe place. When communication is restored, please send a telegram home to let them know you're safe. I've been out for almost a month, and they must be worried sick."

Yan Jingwan was a sick and injured person, on the first list to be evacuated. She could leave, but he had to stay and continue the reconstruction work in the disaster area. After that, he would be deep in the disaster area and would most likely not have the chance to communicate with his family, so he could only ask Yan Jingwan for help to report his safety.

Yan Jingwan understood this, so she nodded solemnly: "Okay."

After a few days, all the accumulated water receded and the way out was cleared.

Qin Zheng sent Yan Jingwan onto the transfer truck.

"Have a safe trip and take care of yourself." He said softly.

Yan Jingwan nodded and said with red eyes: "You too, be careful. I'll wait for you at the base."

Qin Zheng hummed, touched her hand gently, and let go reluctantly.

The car started slowly, and Qin Zheng stood on the ground, watching the car go away.
