Chapter 521 New Doctor

The cadres from the resettlement office had smiles on their faces and spoke in gentle tones, seemingly easy to talk to, but in fact they had a tough attitude.

She came here purely to inform, not to discuss with Yun Qiao.

Yun Qiao had no room for refusal.

She smiled wryly and pulled her lips together, but couldn't help but ask, "But hasn't the military uniform factory clinic always had one doctor and two nurses? Suddenly changing to two doctors and one nurse, is that really okay?"

The resettlement office official waved his hand and smiled, saying, "It will remain the same as it was before. The established configuration will not change."

Hearing her say this, Yun Qiao immediately understood: "So you mean, the new doctor took over my position and I was demoted to a nurse? Is that right?"

"It's the same work, the same salary. Doctors and nurses are just different titles. Don't worry too much about the title," the resettlement office official advised. "If you want, you can continue to see patients as a doctor."

Yun Qiao almost laughed out loud at the cadre's remarks.

"Then should I thank you as well?"

"That's not necessary," the official said with a smile. "Doctor Qin, I know you're always strong-willed, but we women don't have to be so stubborn sometimes. You're three months pregnant now, and your belly will soon grow bigger. Even a few steps will make your back ache. Having someone to help you with the work is a good thing. You should be open-minded."

Yun Qiao sneered: "Xiao, thank you."

"The new doctor will be starting next Monday. Please pack up your things and free up his desk for a few days."

Yun Qiao didn't say anything and turned to go into the pharmacy.

Gao Qian sighed, forced a smile, and sent the resettlement office cadres to the door, then returned.

She walked into the pharmacy, gently placed her hand on Yun Qiao's shoulder, and whispered comfortingly: "Yun Qiao, are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Yun Qiao shook his head, with no extra emotions on his calm face.

"Are you really okay?" Gao Qian looked at Yun Qiao's eyes with some concern and said, "You don't have to pretend in front of me."

"It's really okay." Yun Qiao smiled at her. "I was just so surprised to hear this news suddenly, but now I've figured it out."

"There's nothing wrong with being a nurse. The work is easy, there's no pressure to see patients, and there's no responsibility. The salary is the same anyway. Doctors can't just take time off. Now that we're both nurses, it's convenient to swap shifts and take time off if necessary."

Gao Qian breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Yun Qiao's expression wasn't fake. "I'm glad you figured it out. Since the resettlement officials have already arranged for someone to come here, they must have completed all the formalities. If you refuse to accept it, you can't change the outcome, and it will only make you feel worse."

"It's good this way now. A nurse's job is easier than a doctor's, and there's no need to write medical records or reports. Plus, I'll try to be as active as possible. You can just stay at work and take good care of your pregnancy. I hope you'll have a healthy baby boy in the future."

Yun Qiao hummed and said, "It was indeed tiring when I was pregnant with Yanyan. It's nice to have an easy pregnancy this time."

He was just a doctor in a small clinic, earning eighteen yuan a month, so there was nothing to argue about.

Just be a nurse.

Anyway, the college entrance examination will be in a few years. As long as I get into university, I will be re-employed after graduation.

With a degree, the next job will not be worse than your current job.

In the past few years, I have been able to spend more time with my children, read more books, and do more exercises, so as to improve their grades and get them into a good school.

Seeing Yun Qiao was lost in thought, Gao Qian assumed she was thinking about the new doctor, so she took the initiative to say, "Thinking about the new doctor, right? I've lived in the family compound for so long, and apart from you and the doctors at the military hospital, I haven't heard of any other doctors. I guess they're new. How about I ask someone about it?"
