Chapter 534 You have always been a good person (1/2)

After a weekend, it was Monday morning. Cui Xuezhi sent her grandpa to Yun Qiao's house early in the morning.

When Cui Xuezhi came, Yun Qiao was standing at the door of the bathroom, instructing He Yan to brush his teeth.

Because of past conflicts, Cui Xuezhi felt a little uncomfortable when facing Yun Qiao. She held her daughter's hand and stood awkwardly at the gate of the yard, not knowing whether to go in or wait outside.

It was He Yan, who was brushing his teeth, who spoke first.

"㫦㫦, you're here early. We don't go to school until eight o'clock." He Yan still had toothpaste foam in his mouth, and his words were not very clear.

㫦㫦 couldn’t understand what eight o’clock meant, but since she came early, she could still understand the sentence.

She looked at He Yan confusedly, then asked Cui Xuezhi: "Mom, we're here early, should we go home first?"

Without waiting for Cui Xuezhi to speak, He Yan immediately spat out the toothpaste foam in his mouth and said, "No, no, niece, just wait for me at my house for a while. I eat very quickly."

㫦㫦 nodded: "Okay."

"Come in." Yun Qiao said, "He Yan hasn't had breakfast yet. Please wait a moment."

"Okay." Cui Xuezhi nodded, took her grandma's hand, and walked into Yun Qiao's yard.

Yun Qiao pointed to the small stool in front of the main hall door and said, "Sit down."

Cui Xuezhi: "Thank you."

Yun Qiao casually asked, "Have you eaten yet?"

Cui Xuezhi hummed, "I've eaten."

Yun Qiao nodded, handed the cup of water in his hand to He Yan, and reminded her: "Drink water and spit it out. Be serious and rinse your mouth clean. Don't be lazy."

"Woo woo woo." He Yan nodded with water in his mouth.

After rinsing his mouth repeatedly, He Yan spit out the water in his mouth and trotted into the house: "Mom, mom, please serve me some rice quickly. I need to eat quickly and go to school quickly after eating."

"Why are you in such a hurry? It's still a long time before school starts. Eat well, chew slowly, and don't be in a hurry." Yun Qiao's forehead was throbbing. "How did you choke last time? Have you forgotten?"

"But 㫦㫦 is still waiting for me." He Yan muttered softly.

Cui Xuezhi was a little embarrassed, but she said with a stiff upper lip: "Yanyan, don't worry, just eat slowly. I'm not in a hurry."

"Okay, okay, I'll eat slowly then."

Having said that, He Yan became visibly restless.

Yun Qiao did not force her to stay. He watched her finish half a bun, an egg, and drink half of the millet porridge, then waved his hand and let her go.

"Okay, let's go to school."

He Yan cheered, ran out of the main room, took her hand, and said, "Come on, I'll take you to school."

Grandma was carrying a small schoolbag on her back. Cui Xuezhi said to He Yan, "Yanyan, there are candies in Grandma's schoolbag. Can you help Grandma share some with other children at school? You two are good friends. Please protect Grandma and don't let other children bully her, okay?"

"Auntie, don't worry, I'll take care of it." He Yan patted his chest and said very righteously: "She is my friend, I won't allow anyone to bully her."

"Okay, okay, thank you Yanyan." Cui Xuezhi's nose felt sore. She raised her hand and touched He Yan's little head, saying, "Yanyan, take Xiaoxiao to school."

"Okay, goodbye, Auntie." He Yan waved goodbye to Cui Xuezhi, and then said loudly to Yun Qiao who was still in the room: "Mom, I'm leaving. I'm going to school."

Yun Qiao: "Let's go, keep an eye on the cars on the road."

"I know." He Yan answered in a hoarse voice.

Then, she imitated He Yan and waved goodbye to Cui Xuezhi: "Goodbye, Mom. I'm going to school."

Cui Xuezhi hummed, "Goodbye, baby."

He Yan held 㫦㫦's hand, and the two children walked out of the yard one after the other with their short legs.

Cui Xuezhi followed them worriedly, stood at the door, and watched the two children walk away.

This was the first time that 㫦㫦 left Cui Xuezhi and went out alone. At this moment, Cui Xuezhi felt very panicked.

She subconsciously followed a few steps forward, but then she felt that this was not a good idea. The child would grow up one day, and she would have to learn to let go one day.

Cui Xuezhi stood at the door of Yun Qiao's house with red eyes, wanting to follow but not daring to, which made Yun Qiao feel a pang of pain in his teeth.

Who could have thought that the once willful and domineering Cui Xuezhi would become so hesitant and indecisive for the sake of her daughter.

Yun Qiao coughed lightly and said, "If you want to follow, just follow secretly and take a look."

"Wouldn't this be a bad idea?" Cui Xuezhi hesitated. "If other kids saw this, would they laugh at me?"

"What are you laughing at? It's normal for parents to be worried about their children on their first day of school." Yun Qiao said, "It was He Yan's first day of school. I also followed him and secretly watched for a long time."

After hearing Yun Qiao's words, Cui Xuezhi seemed to have received some kind of permission, "Then, I'll go."

Yun Qiao smiled and said, "Let's go."

Cui Xuezhi followed the two children carefully not far behind.

He Yan was seen holding 㫦㫦's hand tightly like a little adult, and turning around to give her a few words of advice from time to time.

Cui Xuezhi was far away and couldn't hear clearly what He Yan said to 㫦㫦, but she could see with her own eyes that 㫦㫦 became cheerful and started skipping and jumping as he walked forward.

They first went to No. 9 Hutong to meet up with Qin Lang, and then the three children went to school together hand in hand.

When the three children were halfway there, a little yellow dog appeared on the roadside. Xiaoxiao was a little scared, so He Yan held her hand to comfort her and told her not to be afraid.

After returning to school, He Yan took Grandma's hand and introduced her to other children. After the candies in the schoolbag were distributed, some children were willing to play with Grandma.

Cui Xuezhi lay in the bushes outside the school and watched for more than an hour until noon when the sun gradually rose higher and became scorching. She left because she could no longer bear the sun.

There was no one at home and she didn't want to go home alone. After thinking about it, she simply went to the clinic of the military uniform factory.

In the health room, Yun Qiao was sitting in front of the pharmacy window reading a high school history book.

The work in the clinic is very slow now. There are no patients coming to see a doctor for several hours in the morning and evening. Jiang Hua rarely stays in the clinic. She either goes upstairs to chat with the staff of the factory office, or goes to the office of the leaders of the military uniform factory in the back to deepen her relationship with them. In short, she will not stay in the clinic all the time waiting for patients to come.

"Comrade Cui, why are you here?"

Gao Qian, who was sitting in the clinic, was the first to see Cui Xuezhi and took the initiative to greet her: "Are you feeling unwell?"

"No." Cui Xuezhi shook her head: "I... I was alone at home with nothing to do and nowhere to go, so I just wandered around and came here."
