Chapter 540: Career Change

"Yun Qiao, this way!"

Zheng Wenjing was wearing a beige floral dress, standing at the door of the film studio, waving at Yun Qiao with a smile.

Yun Qiao quickly crossed the street and walked towards Zheng Wenjing, "Long time no see, Wenjing."

"Yeah, long time no see." Zheng Wenjing opened her arms and hugged Yun Qiao warmly: "Yun Qiao, I missed you so much."

"I miss you too." Yun Qiao said.

"When will you arrive?" Zheng Wenjing asked her.

"I just arrived yesterday and came to see you today." Yun Qiao smiled and winked at her: "Am I okay?"

"Hehehe, that's great!" Zheng Wenjing happily hugged Yun Qiao's neck: "I knew it, even though we haven't seen each other for a long time, I'm still your best friend!"

The two laughed and joked for a while, and then Zheng Wenjing pulled Yun Qiao into the film studio.

Yun Qiao asked, "Is it okay for me to let in strangers like this?"

"It's okay," Zheng Wenjing said. "It's mainly because this place is closer to home. Otherwise, I'd have to go a long way around."

Yun Qiao nodded: "Are you still working as a stagehand now?"

Zheng Wenjing nodded. "Yes. I've only been on two productions in the past two years. I only played a small cameo role in the second one. I didn't have any lines, just a brief appearance."

"Take your time. You're still young, don't rush." Yun Qiao comforted her, "I believe that one day in the future you will definitely be able to join the crew and become the leading actor."

"There's no need to rush. There are so many actors in the studio, and not everyone gets the chance to be the lead." Zheng Wenjing said with a smile, "My son Ji Ping wants to switch careers and become a director. My father-in-law recently found a teacher for him at the studio. He'll learn from him first, and tomorrow he might become an executive director with this teacher. Then I can take advantage of his influence and get a small role with lines."

"Wow, that's pretty good." Yun Qiao's eyes lit up when he heard that. "When your Ji Ping becomes a big director in the future, he can make movies and you can act. Isn't that perfect? You two will be the best husband and wife combination in the literary and artistic world."

"Hahaha, Ji Ping told me the same thing." Zheng Wenjing laughed from ear to ear. "He said he already has a movie in mind, and that I'm the ideal heroine for it. When the project is approved, he'll choose me as his heroine."

Yun Qiao: "Very good, very good. Looks like I'll be able to see you in the cinema in a few days."

As they were talking, Zheng Wenjing had already brought Yun Qiao to the film studio's family compound.

It is a 3-story family building, and Zheng Wenjing and Ji Ping live on the fourth floor.

There is a small living room at the entrance, and the dining room and kitchen are separated in the large open space. To the outside is the bedroom and study which are connected together.

Although there are only two rooms in total, the layout is reasonable, the corner utilization rate is high, and the entire space looks spacious.

Yun Qiao said, "Wen Jing, your house is so beautiful."

Zheng Wenjing laughed and said, "It was all arranged by Ji Ping. He grew up in a film studio and was influenced by it, so he has a natural talent for art."

"I can tell." Yun Qiao asked her, "Is Ji Ping at work?"

Zheng Wenjing nodded. "He joined the crew a while ago. They're filming a war drama. He's probably in the rural suburbs now and only comes back once a week."

Yun Qiao nodded to show that he understood.

"What about you?" Zheng Wenjing asked her, "You said on the phone last time that you weren't very clear. I was in a hurry at the time and didn't have time to ask you in detail. So, are you coming to Beijing this time to visit relatives? Or will you never leave again?"

"We're not leaving anymore," Yun Qiao said. "Tingjun's job has been transferred to Beijing. We brought the kids here with us because we plan to stay here for a while."

"Then will you all move your household registration here as well?" Zheng Wenjing asked. "Your Captain He is an officer. If he's with the army, it should be easier to get you and your children registered here."

Yun Qiao shook his head. "He can't join the army this time. My two children and I have our household registration changed thanks to my father's connections. He figured out a way."

Qin Lin is old now, and his temper is not as stubborn as when he first met his relative.

Yun Qiao felt that if this had happened five days ago, the old man would definitely not have done this.

The older people get, the more afraid they are of loneliness, so accordingly, he has made many compromises with reality.
