Chapter 8 Care

Chapter 8 Care

Yun Ran did not sleep well.

In other words, ever since Qin Qing's soul fell into this body and she woke up as Yun Ran, she has never had a full night's sleep.

The shadows of the past kept replaying in her dreams, and those disappointing, sad, desperate, painful and terrible memories all came flooding back, often waking her up in the middle of the night.

She also inherited the experience of the deceased Yun Ran. The pain and hatred became double, and the memories were intertwined, often making her unable to distinguish between reality and dreams. The only person she hated was the same person from beginning to end.

Of course, Qin Qing has more "enemies" than Yun Ran.

Yun Ran woke up in the middle of the night again and looked at the time. It was three o'clock in the morning.

Her head was aching, and she subconsciously touched her loose hair, but found that there was not a trace of moisture, as if it was just an illusion that she went to bed without drying her hair.

She was a little surprised, but she didn't think about it too deeply. She sat up and calmed down for a while. After the scene in her dream where the real Yun Ran fell into a coma after the car accident faded, she lifted the quilt and got out of bed.

Thirsty, very thirsty.

Her throat was so dry that she had difficulty swallowing, and instinct prompted her to go downstairs to find some water.

The Li family villa at night was an area Yun Ran rarely visited, and it felt a little unfamiliar.

They have lived here for some time, but both she and Li Ting are people with a strong sense of propriety and rarely hang out during such private time.

She occasionally came out two or three times to drink water or find food, but there was only an empty corridor and she was alone, and she never met Li Ting.

So when Yun Ran saw the flashing red dot by the window downstairs, he was stunned at first.

When he saw the vague outline of the person sitting in the wheelchair and the lit cigarette in his hand, Yun Ran could no longer hide his surprise.

It was hard to tell whether she was more frightened to see someone sitting in the living room in the middle of the night, or more surprised that Li Ting would actually smoke. She was stunned for several seconds before finally taking action.

This movement woke up Li Ting, who was still in a trance. He turned around sharply and recognized Yun Ran in the dim light. His first reaction was to put out the cigarette in his hand.

Now that I’ve been discovered, I can’t pretend I didn’t see it.

Yun Ran hesitated for only a moment before walking towards him: "Mr. Li."

As the person got closer, the view became clearer. Li Ting looked her up and down. The night reduced his deliberately cold indifference, making his voice seem especially gentle at the moment: "Can't sleep?"

Yun Ran smiled and said, "I'm thirsty. Come down and get some water."

Li Ting looked at her silently for a moment and nodded: "It's cold at night, drink it warm."

Yun Ran was a little slow to respond to the sudden outpouring of concern, and nodded in appreciation of the kindness. "I know, thank you."

She turned around and poured herself some water and drank it. She glanced at Li Ting who had turned back to the window, but she didn't ask any more questions and turned around to go upstairs.

There was nothing to do the next day, so Yun Ran muted his phone and deliberately stayed in bed for a while.

I woke up and fell asleep, and when I finally got up, it was already past ten in the morning.

She got up, washed, changed her clothes, and tidied herself before picking up the phone that was lying upside down on the bedside table.

There were sixteen missed calls, thirteen of which were from Gu He and three from Yun's father.

Yun Ran stopped walking down the stairs and called his father back first.

The call was answered quickly, and the first thing he said was, "Xiao Ran, Mr. Gu found his home early this morning."

Long before going to the engagement party, Yun Ran had informed him that he would not be going home that night.

Yun's father is a typical silent parent. He is not good at speaking and never expresses his concern. He also doesn't understand her "emotional problems" very well.

Li Ting helped the Yun family's company and his relationship with Yun Ran was much closer than that of ordinary friends.

There is also Gu He, who couldn't wait to claim the identity of Yun Ran's boyfriend before the banquet, and took the initiative to explain to Yun's father the real reason for his engagement with Qin Ruo.

Yun's father disagreed, but Yun Ran had an idea and told him to keep Li Ting's help a secret, without saying anything more. As for Gu He, she knew what he was talking about.

Yun's father didn't know what his daughter was going to do, but she had been in a car accident and had been lying in bed for several months before waking up. He felt guilty for not protecting his daughter, so he couldn't say anything to dissuade her.
