It's the end

It's the end

Is this the end?!

The two stepped onto the gray-white stone. The blood-red barrier surrounding them slowly shrank but didn't disappear. Jiang Jingyuan waved the lantern forward and saw the gray-white stone path stretching from his feet into the darkness ahead.

After a pause, the two continued forward calmly.

A few small pieces of gravel rolled on the gray-white ground, and then fell down the stone steps with a "clatter". The white skirt fluttered by. Jiang Jingyuan and the others stopped in the thick darkness, looking at the stone steps that suddenly went down in front of them with the help of the lamp.

The stone steps here were connected tightly and high, and were much steeper than the stone steps they had just taken to enter the secret passage. The two of them felt a little restrained as they walked on them.

After walking down a short flight of stone steps, the orange-red lights illuminated the deep, rugged depressions on both sides of the stone path, which were as rough as rocks. In the depressions, books like notebooks were quietly placed.

Jiang Jingyuan was stunned for a moment, and tentatively reached out to take out a book from the depression in the stone wall, but nothing happened.

Placing the lantern in her hand temporarily in the groove of the stone wall, Jiang Jingyuan opened the book, feeling a strange sense of unease in her heart, as if something she had forgotten was placed before her eyes again.

Strangely enough, there was a piece of paper stuck in the first page of the book. Jiang Jingyuan took out the paper and held it up to the light, then lowered her eyes and read two lines carefully. She suddenly frowned quickly, because it turned out to be a marriage certificate.

Jiang Jingyuan's expression was strange for a moment, and he thought to himself, "There's a mourning hall upstairs, and the marriage certificate is in the secret passage downstairs?"

It's weird no matter how you think about it...

He tucked the marriage certificate into the last page of the book and lowered his head to read the contents of the notebook. What caught his eye was a line of hastily written words.

"Don't look for it. Success and failure are both due to Xiao He. All you need to know is..."

Before Jiang Jingyuan finished reading a line of words, a hand beside her frantically grabbed her left sleeve and shook it violently. Jiang Jingyuan suddenly looked to the side and saw the tearful girl beside her looking at her... behind her with a look of horror.

"?!!" Jiang Jingyuan's pupils shrank, and he turned his head to look behind him. His peripheral vision caught sight of dark red handwriting on the book in his hand, which looked as if it were written in blood.

“They’re coming!!!”

The orange-red light illuminated the depression in the stone wall. The groove in the stone wall where the book was placed on the side of Jiang Jingyuan emitted a faint orange-red color in the darkness. A slender arm, illuminated by the firelight in a transparent orange-yellow color, slowly stretched out from it.

Jiang Jingyuan's eyes and heart trembled.

The bright red nail polish gleamed with the warm light of the lamp, and the soft and slender arm stretched straight towards her nose, brushing against the tip of her nose. The strange smell of rottenness masked by heavy spices filled her face. Jiang Jingyuan subconsciously froze in place, her lips trembling.

Tears streamed down his cheeks. Jiang Jingyuan gathered himself, turned, and glanced at the mourning-clad girl beside him. With a tap of their toes, they both leaped up from the darkness, one in front of the other, almost simultaneously, stepping onto the stone walls on either side and swiftly passing over the graceful arm.

"clatter……"

Two figures in white landed one after the other, and with just a touch of their toes, they bounced up and down the tight and high stone steps, and then they ran wildly towards the depths of darkness.

The two of them walked down as if they were stepping into an endless abyss. The orange light behind them became smaller and smaller, so small that it seemed like just a firefly in the dark night.

The arm, illuminated by the bright orange light, remained frozen in place, motionless, as if completely unaffected by the two men, or as if it were inherently harmless...

Jiang Jingyuan's mind echoed with the terrifying roar from someone unknown.

“They’re coming!!!”

"They they they she she she she she she they—"

"They're coming!"

Jiang Jingyuan gritted her teeth and ran without taking out the lamp to illuminate the way, because... because she saw a faint light coming from the front.

The orange lights behind were too dazzling, almost turning the darkness ahead into a thick black, but Jiang Jingyuan still caught a glimmer of light in the distance.

Getting closer and closer, they ran madly towards the source of light that they didn't know whether it was life or death.

"Bang!"

In the darkness in front of the two people, a slender arm suddenly stretched out from the depression on the side of the wall, and the five soft, boneless fingers painted with nail polish instantly pierced into the opposite stone wall.

The gray stone wall was like tofu in front of this arm, and it was smashed into a deep pit without any resistance.

I'm going to...

Jiang Jingyuan: "!!!"

girl:"!!!"

Fine stone powder flew into the faces of the two men, and the two figures in white stopped abruptly in front of the arm that ran horizontally through the secret passage.

The two men didn't care about being shocked, they immediately jumped into the air and ran along the stone wall to the end of the secret passage.

“Bang, bang, bang!!!”

"Bang--"

“Bang, bang—”

One after another, graceful arms suddenly stretched out from the depressions in the stone walls on both sides of the secret passage, some fast, some slow, almost stabbing out at the moment the two men ran past.

Looking at the tragic deep pits on the walls of the secret passage, Jiang Jingyuan couldn't even imagine what would happen if a person was stabbed.

She didn't know how many attacks the damaged silver jade bracelet and those few low-level defensive magic tools could block for her. But she didn't dare to try. If something went wrong, she would go from being the one mourning for Anshun Hou on behalf of the emperor to being the one being mourned!

Hiding in the darkness, Jiang Jingyuan suddenly thought: "Mourning... Could this be the Anshun Marquis Mansion?!"

She quickly turned her head to glance at the girl behind her who was crying with a serious face, "Is this the younger generation of the Xu family?"

"But this... How could the Anshun Marquis' Mansion have these things?" Jiang Jingyuan's mind was a little confused. "No... Is this a magical killing realm or a real existence in reality? If it is a killing realm, why is it exactly the same as the mourning hall in the Anshun Marquis' Mansion? Even the ghosts look like Anshun Marquis... But if it is reality, why would the Anshun Marquis' Mansion have these ghostly things? What's more, the Xu family members are still here. Didn't anyone notice that their young people are missing?"

Two figures in white were moving through the darkness like ghosts. In front of them, densely packed white arms stretched out with a "bang bang bang" sound. Behind them, countless arms were retracted from the deep pits on the opposite wall. Then, they changed direction and countless arms seemed to be endlessly long, suddenly grabbing the two people in front!

Oh shit!

The two men just stopped in their tracks when a strong gust of wind came from behind them!

Jiang Jingyuan curled her ten fingers under her sleeves, her eyes moved, and she stepped on those arms and flew forward and upwards.

The girl behind her was stunned, then gritted her teeth and followed.

“Swish, swish, swish—”

Countless graceful arms from the back made sounds of breaking through the air, but they all missed. They twisted and slapped back and forth in the darkness as if they had no bones, causing huge pits to appear on the stone walls on both sides of the secret passage with a "bang bang bang" sound.

Two figures in white walked forward. Jiang Jingyuan, who was standing high up, lowered his eyes and saw a clear light in the dark abyss below, which looked like a huge ancient beast with a huge mouth.

She immediately stepped on the restless arm, climbed up the stone wall of the secret passage, took out a stack of yellow and black talismans from the storage space and threw them down!

The girl who followed closely behind and climbed up the stone wall paused for a moment, then reached into the storage space and threw out three or five brass discs engraved with array patterns.

“Boom!!!”

Countless explosions overlapped, creating a cloud of white smoke beneath the dim tunnel.

Jiang Jingyuan glanced at the girl next to her. The girl instantly understood what she meant and quickly approached her.

Instantly, a surge of powerful airflow rose around Jiang Jingyuan, and a layer of blood-red barrier unfolded, covered by a layer of shimmering white light. Finally, layer after layer of invisible barriers overlapped and wrapped around the two of them tightly.

The girl clenched her fists nervously, while Jiang Jingyuan's expression was cold and serious. Jiang Jingyuan's mind moved, and the layers of barriers adjusted their appearance, suddenly and fiercely rushing towards the darkness below!

"brush--!!!"

The violent wind howled as it blew past, breaking through the layers of barriers that were intertwined with countless scarred arms below.

"Bang!!!"

Layers of barriers brought the two men crashing down from their height. A cloud of grayish-white dust and smoke instantly rose from all around them, and the stench of decay and blood quickly filled the darkness. Amidst the rain of blood, mixed with severed limbs, two figures in white moved through it like ghosts, swiftly disappearing into the cellar at the end of the tunnel.

They walked into the cellar and ran down the stone steps "thump, thump, thump". Fortunately, it only took a moment and they walked onto the flat ground.

There seemed to be no sign of pursuit from behind, and the two men gradually slowed down their pace, their heavy breathing and heartbeats interweaving into music in the darkness.

Jiang Jingyuan closed her eyes, her heartbeat quieting in her ears. She listened carefully and suddenly wondered, "What's going on... Even if those arms weren't chasing us, with such a severe explosion, there's no way there wouldn't be any sound at all... How could it be so quiet, as if those arms weren't even there?"

The lights illuminated the cellar in a dim light. When the breathing and heartbeats of the two people were completely drowned out, there was only dead silence in their ears.

But Jiang Jingyuan didn't think about it anymore. She raised her foot and walked into the depths of the cellar following the flickering candlelight on both sides, looking around... Suddenly, she paused, raised her hand to wipe the corners of her eyes, and the tears strangely stopped at some point without her knowing.

Jiang Jingyuan turned around and looked at the girl in white behind her. The girl had obviously noticed this and was staring at her in a daze.

There was silence in the dim light for a while. The girl in mourning opened her mouth and tentatively made a sound. Everything was fine for a moment. She paused and tried clearing her throat again, but still nothing happened.

“!”

The two people looked at each other in the dim light, and both relaxed a little.

"Are we back?" The girl looked at the surrounding scenery and whispered to herself.

Jiang Jingyuan didn't say anything, but pondered in his heart: "Why am I here at the Anshun Marquis' Mansion? Tsk... Why did I come here so strangely, and leave so strangely..."

Until now, she still hasn't figured out why she came to a place that she didn't know whether it was the Anshun Marquis Mansion or the magic weapon killing realm.

Jiang Jingyuan looked at the girl in front of him and wiped the sweat and tears from her face. She raised her head and smiled. She opened her mouth and was about to say something, but the expression on her face instantly turned into horror.

Jiang Jingyuan's eyelids twitched, and as she turned around, she felt a sense of anticipation in her heart.

Deep in the dim cellar stood a huge, exquisite bronze mirror, with two figures in white leaping onto it. Jiang Jingyuan watched as the two blurry figures in white on the bronze mirror quickly became clearer at a speed visible to the naked eye. In just a moment, the two figures in white were close to the bronze mirror.

A hand stretched out from the bronze mirror and grabbed the edge of it. The girl in mourning bent down and came out of the mirror. She raised her resentful eyes and stared at the girl next to Jiang Jingyuan.

The girl next to Jiang Jingyuan looked at the girl in front of her who looked exactly like her. She took a step back because of her resentful gaze. She made a gulp in her throat and barely managed to stand firm.

However, Jiang Jingyuan looked at another figure in white emerging from the bronze mirror with a calm expression.

But when the figure in white raised his head, Jiang Jingyuan and the girl beside him were both shocked!
