Make way, I'm calling you

Make way, I'm calling you

Several women immediately turned their heads and glared at the direction of the sound. It was an old man passing by, who was shaking his head and saying "Silly... silly..."

"What are you doing, you old fool?!" When several old ladies saw this man, disgust immediately appeared on their faces. They kept waving their hands, as if they wanted to drive away some bad luck.

The old man in gray bared his yellowed teeth and laughed: "You are so stupid! You just believed everything a little girl said. You even asked about her well-being after being cheated out of her money! You have lived in vain at such an old age..."

As soon as these words were spoken, the expressions of the people who had stopped suddenly changed, and they looked at the pale-faced woman in plain clothes with vigilance.

Several of the ladies became furious and started cursing:

"You're calling these two kids liars?! What about their parents? Why aren't they by their side? Why would they leave them crying in the cold wind? What kind of good kids would cry in the street? How can you say they're not pitiful? How can they be called liars?!"

"Are their parents dead, or are they forcing them to cry on the street? Aren't these two pitiful children?!"

"How can we be as cruel as you, an old fool? Not only do you idle away your time, but you also beat your children every day! If your children ran into the street crying, we would help them too!"

The onlookers couldn't help but say, "This money is enough to give these two children a few days of good life... Especially the child in the back, he's so injured that he can't even move."

Some people who knew the old man also frowned and said, "You are really a bit mean, old man. You beat your own child until his arms are full of bruises, and now you can't stand to see other people's children doing well!"

"It's so unfortunate to have someone like you in my family!"

Everyone shook their heads in disgust.

"You! You're a bunch of idiots!" The old man in gray was so angry that he blew his beard and glared. "How do you know whether the kid behind you is really injured or not? Maybe he's just pretending!"

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone started cursing at him again.

"Let us see whether this kid is dead or not!" The gray-clothed old man's withered face turned red and ferocious in an instant. He shouted loudly, and while everyone was not paying attention, he pounced on the small straw mat and stretched out his wrinkled hands to grab the thick bedding!

"Ah!" Everyone was startled and turned around in a panic to pull him, but they could only watch the gray-white corners of his clothes escape from one hand after another, and no one could stop him.

The woman in white, her eyes red, turned around in panic. Her mouth slightly parted, her eyes widened in fear, her pupils trembling violently, as if she had seen something extremely terrifying. As she turned around in panic, a crystal tear slid from the corner of her eye and rolled down into her loose black hair...

As the skinny old hand was about to touch the thick bedding, the woman in white trembled violently.

She had been kneeling for too long, her hands and feet were numb and she couldn't get up at all. Her hands were clenched tightly on the straw mat. Her eyes were trembling with tears, but she still kept her eyes wide open and watched the hand grabbing the quilt without blinking, as if she wanted to remember this scene clearly.

Just as the old, wrinkled hand was about to lift the quilt, several hands of different sizes grabbed the skinny hand.

The woman in white opened her eyes, tears streaming down her face. Only then did she hear the crowd's curses.

"Who are you? They are two children. How dare you, an old man, bully them like this?!"

"You're so old, and you don't know how to do some good deeds for yourself. If you die, you will go to the eighteenth level of hell!"

"Get out of here, you old bastard! Don't be a target of violence here!"

Everyone grabbed the old hand, and some of them pried open the old fingers bit by bit with distorted faces. They cursed and pushed the old man aside.

The old man in gray was so angry that he screamed and danced with his hands, slapping the people who were pushing him. "Why don't you let us watch?! Is she guilty?! She's a liar, she fooled all of you idiots! And that little brat, he's so young and he's pretending to be dead and deceiving people, he deserves retribution!"

Shouting and screaming, he kicked and punched the people who blocked his way, and the scene became chaotic.

After a long while, everyone pushed the old man away.

Several elderly women wiped their tears and said to the crowd, "Look at how pitiful these two children are! Who would be willing to let their kind children suffer this kind of injustice?!"

Everyone took out money and put it into the arms of an old lady: "Hurry up and find a place for these two children to go. It's freezing cold, don't let them suffer here!"

Jiang Jingyuan watched for a long time and grabbed a handful of money from the storage space and put it in. The lady in front of her looked at her and her eyes widened, perhaps because she didn't expect that there was such a young child here.

Jiang Jingyuan turned around and raised her foot to leave, but after two steps, she suddenly stopped as if she remembered something.

"Why does she look familiar..." Jiang Jingyuan recalled the face of the woman in white just now, and a slight hesitation arose in his heart.

She turned her head to look in that direction, and saw that the woman in white also looked up and saw her.

Their eyes met, and both of them were stunned.

Jiang Jingyuan was stunned for a moment, then snapped back to her senses. She wondered, "Why is she stunned? Does she recognize me or is she just stunned subconsciously?"

Thinking of this, Jiang Jingyuan looked at the figure in white again, but the woman in white had already lowered her head and raised her hand silently to wipe away her tears.

The old man in gray looked at the handfuls of copper coins, his eyes widened, and he rushed forward again with a red face, "Did you see that?! They're already starting to scam us out of money!!"

“Clang——”

“Ding… Ding…”

As the crowd pushed and shoved, someone kicked the bowl of water that was placed beside the straw mat and sent it flying. The clear water splashed on the corner of the woman's white clothes. The porcelain bowl knocked over a small purse that everyone had collected. As the porcelain bowl rolled, it made a few small cracks on the rough stone ground, gurgling, and finally stopped at someone's feet.

The woman in white lowered her eyes to look at the water stain on the corner of her clothes. She supported herself with both hands and stood up slowly and with difficulty. She whispered to the people in front of her, "Thank you, Auntie. Thank you, everyone. I don't want this money."

After saying this, she turned her back to the crowd and bent down to pick up the child wrapped in blankets. Her movements were very cautious, as if she was touching the child's injuries, so she was very strenuous in holding him.

"You old bastard! What are you crazy about? What does this place have to do with you? Go away!" Seeing this, several aunties felt so distressed that their chests were beating wildly. They were thirsty and wanted to take a break, but seeing this, they immediately continued to curse at the old man in gray clothes.

The old man in gray refused to give in, spitting everywhere: "Look, look, I was right, she's feeling guilty and wants to run away!"

"You are such a wicked old man!" Several people cursed, and some rushed to stop the woman in white, wanting to lend a hand to help her, but looking at the child's face exposed through the quilt, they didn't know how to start, and could only keep persuading and comforting her.

Jiang Jingyuan stood there and thought for a while, but he couldn't remember any memory of this person. He thought that maybe he just looked a little similar to someone, so he turned and left.

…………

I wandered aimlessly around the city as the sky gradually darkened, casting a hazy orange hue of sunset over the surrounding landscape. The streets were noticeably less crowded, with only a few rustling footsteps and voices remaining, creating a particularly lonely and unsettling atmosphere at dusk.

Jiang Jingyuan was walking in the alley, thinking about some things that needed to be decided, but suddenly she heard footsteps from behind. She subconsciously turned around and saw a familiar figure in white from afar. She thought for a moment, raised her foot and walked quickly into the shadow of the alley. Her whole figure seemed to melt into the shadow in an instant.

However, the next moment, Jiang Jingyuan heard another pair of deliberately light footsteps following into the alley.

She raised her head and looked around, and saw a big tree behind the wall on the side, stretching over the stone wall and hanging its branches in the alley. Jiang Jingyuan immediately walked towards the tree in the shadow, tiptoed on the ground, and jumped lightly and silently onto the branch. She crouched down and hid in the branches, lowering her head to look down.

The first person to walk into the alley was indeed the woman in white that I had seen on the street before, but she was the only one walking empty-handed.

Jiang Jingyuan, who was sitting in the tree, was slightly surprised and thought to himself, "Could this really be a liar?"

But she was only surprised for a moment, and then she continued to watch calmly.

Scammers are everywhere, it's not uncommon...

Immediately afterwards, Jiang Jingyuan saw the withered old man who followed him stealthily into the alley. The old man in gray clothes was hunched over, holding a shovel in both hands, and tiptoed towards the figure in white in front.

When he got close to the back of the woman in white, the old man in gray shouted loudly, raised his shovel high and smashed it towards the figure in front of him:

"You liar, you dare to embarrass me!!!"

Jiang Jingyuan's eyes flickered in the tree, but she didn't move. She just wondered, if this was a scammer, would he really be so careless as to not even know someone was following him? And would a scammer really be so eager to reveal his true identity?

If that's the case, then this is really not very careful...

Jiang Jingyuan wanted to see how the woman in white would respond.

The woman under the tree heard the noise behind her and turned around. The iron-black shovel was already in front of her, casting a large shadow on her face. The cold light was reflected in her black eyes, as if the shovel would smash her head to pieces in the next moment!

"People nowadays are just too irritable..." The villain in Jiang Jingyuan's heart shook his head secretly and thought to himself.

However, in the next moment, Jiang Jingyuan's eyes met a pair of black eyes.

“?!!” Jiang Jingyuan was shocked.

The woman in white turned her head and looked in her direction, her expression indifferent. She opened her thin lips and said, "Xingyun."

What?! Jiang Jingyuan stared at the woman in white, a chill suddenly running down his spine.

A stone instantly flew out from her fluttering hair with a strong wind and hit the wrist of the old man in gray who was holding the shovel. The shovel fell with a "clang", and the gray-clothed figure immediately fell to the ground screaming.

Jiang Jingyuan was frozen in the tree and was about to turn her head when a white hand was already on her right shoulder.

"Move aside, they're calling me." The hand pushed Jiang Jingyuan aside, and a figure in white emerged from the branches with a clean, sharp movement, stepping onto the eaves and leaping to the ground. He walked straight towards the gray-clad figure writhing and howling on the ground, shovel on one shoulder, and with the other, grabbed the gray-clad figure by the collar, dragging him out of the alley without looking back.

Jiang Jingyuan, who was on the tree, was stunned and thought to himself: "With such ability, does he still need to go out on the street to cheat..." Has the economic situation in all walks of life become so bad these days?

After a pause, Jiang Jingyuan tightened his face and turned back to look at the slender figure in white clothes under the tree.

At this moment, the woman in white stopped crying. She glared mercilessly at Jiang Jingyuan in the tree with her black eyes that were now red.

"Poor bastard."
