Try again in the mountains

Try again in the mountains

In the early morning, just as the sky was getting light, the girl in a simple beige robe had already walked out of the bamboo house in the snowy forest.

Outside the house, the red-haired fox walked back from the stream. He looked up and saw it, his mouth wide open in astonishment, his eyes full of disbelief. He was stunned for a long while before he slowly said, "Are you busy today? Nothing. You actually got up so early today..."

After a pause, it seemed to have thought of something. It turned its head and looked up at the sky. Suddenly, it suddenly realized something. It looked at Jiang Jingyuan again with a calm expression and said, "You misjudged the weather. It's early morning now, not afternoon or evening yet. You should go back to sleep."

Jiang Jingyuan finished washing up, heard the words, glanced at it, and said, "I know it's morning, so I got up."

Sheng Liang was stunned with his mouth open.

After a moment, it frowned, looking as if it was struggling to recall something, and asked, "Did anything happen today? Did I forget?"

"It's okay." Jiang Jingyuan said, "I just tend to wake up easily lately, and something happened just now."

The little fox looked at her, signaling her with his eyes to explain in detail.

Jiang Jingyuan paused, then walked to the rocking chair and sat down, his expression grave, and he remained silent for a long while. Sheng Liang waited, walking back and forth busying himself.

Suddenly, Jiang Jingyuan finally said, "I'm not sure of the exact time..."

At night, half asleep and half awake, she suddenly felt something was wrong and suddenly woke up. She clearly felt that she was lying flat in the endless darkness. At the same time, she was also lying flat in the bamboo house, and her limbs were numb.

In the boundless darkness, her entire consciousness was shaking rapidly, and every inch of her body was... beating wildly?

"My description isn't clear. It's been a while, and I can't remember it clearly," Jiang Jingyuan explained. "That feeling wasn't good. Although it lasted for a long time, it came in waves."

What she remembered most vividly was that her head felt swollen and painful, and at the same time it felt like a strong wind was blowing across her face.

She was suspended.

Suddenly, she wanted to try to rise up. As soon as she thought about it, her whole body instantly rose rapidly towards the sky in a motionless lying position.

Soon, even she thought she was about to float out of her body.

"But no."

Jiang Jingyuan said, "When I rose to near the edge of my body, the feeling of breaking through the strong wind and the swelling and pain in my head became stronger and more urgent. But in an instant, I didn't feel myself descending or anything. I just felt myself return to the center of my body without moving."

Sheng Liang paused what he was doing, his face full of confusion, and said, "What? Why don't I understand?"

"I don't understand either. I'm just telling you so that I won't forget it later and feel sad." Jiang Jingyuan said calmly.

She said, "I thought, first, that it was strange that I was rising so fast but didn't break through the shell. Second,... I may have had this experience three or five times last night. The method to enter this state is..."

Sheng Liang looked over with some interest.

Jiang Jingyuan pursed his lips, pondered for a moment, and then tried to describe it: "A whirlpool of illusions that gradually weakens uneasy obsessions."

"Ah?" Sheng Liang was stunned.

Jiang Jingyuan shook his head. "The vortex appeared inexplicably in front of me, and it operated on its own while I was half asleep and half awake. Then I entered that state, felt a slight discomfort, and then woke up and tried to ascend in the darkness."

"Why do you want to go up?" Sheng Liang suddenly asked.

Jiang Jingyuan was silent for a moment, his expression complicated and strange. He said, "Subconsciously...? When you encounter something like this, you just rigidly think about going up?"

She didn't even think about descending or wandering around, and subconsciously thought that ascending was the best way?

Sheng Liang: “…”

"It's incomprehensible." The fox was disappointed and went about his business.

…………

Jiang Jingyuan looked up at the sky and down at the ground, feeling sleepy but unable to fall asleep. He thought in a daze all day and finally waited until night fell.

Jiang Jingyuan crawled back into bed and closed his eyes.

After a moment... Jiang Jingyuan suddenly opened her eyes. She couldn't sleep!

In the dim light, Jiang Jingyuan lay on his side in despair, opening and closing his eyes, closing and opening them again, and finally closing his eyes, his thoughts full of random thoughts.

She no longer tried to control her distracting thoughts, but instead let herself follow her thoughts, trying to slowly fall asleep in this way.

Her thoughts were so chaotic that even she could hardly perceive and distinguish the contents.

Random thoughts filled her mind and she showed no sign of falling asleep.

Suddenly, a huge buzzing sound was heard.

Jiang Jingyuan was startled and looked around, only then did he realize in panic that he had fallen into endless darkness again without knowing when.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz—"

A huge buzzing sound continued to explode, as if it was ringing around her head, loudly, but for a long time the rhythm was slow and unchanged.

It was too close, and the noise made her head uncomfortable and a little painful.

Jiang Jingyuan endured it while feeling terrified - her first miraculous journey happened when she was in a daze but her mind was empty. She thought that only in that state could she achieve this. She never expected that with so many distracting thoughts just now, she could still enter this "buzzing" darkness.

Jiang Jingyuan couldn't figure it out, and he didn't have the energy to think about it for the time being.

She just listened to the huge buzzing sound with extreme unbearable pain, which gave her a headache...

But after a while, the "buzzing" sound continued and the darkness became quiet.

"What's going on?!" Jiang Jingyuan's heart was pounding wildly, and a trace of panic suddenly swept through her body. She panicked, listening to the buzzing sound and suppressing her panic, trying to make the darkness change.

However, she tried three or two times in a hurry, but the darkness remained still and the buzzing sound was huge. She suddenly remembered that she had to leave, and besides having a headache, she suddenly felt like breaking down and wanted to cry.

A huge panic overwhelmed her in an instant.

She's not going!

She's not going anywhere, she's going back!

Jiang Jingyuan struggled in the darkness, trying to escape. However, it was only a few tries. She thought, "No, I've finally waited for another opportunity like this. I have to see it clearly this time."

This time she was a little calmer than last time, and was able to calmly recall the method of cultivation.

So, Jiang Jingyuan tried to make the fear in his heart disappear bit by bit, and began to want the darkness to change.

Sometimes she wanted to change, and sometimes she wanted to exit the darkness out of fear. She was stuck in the darkness, unable to land and see more.

Jiang Jingyuan's heartstrings broke again. She felt a headache and panicked with fear, and thought to herself, she didn't want to care about whether they met or not. She didn't care anymore. She wanted to go back!

Let her go back!

She struggled frantically in the darkness, trying desperately to sense her body in the bamboo house!

Finally, she felt her own hand. Almost instantly, she fumbled around in panic and touched the familiar bedding. She felt at ease and calm in an instant.

Jiang Jingyuan took a deep breath in the darkness, feeling relieved. She listened to the humming sound and tried to change the darkness. She wanted to see something strange again...

She seemed to be stuck between the darkness and the bamboo house, swaying and falling from side to side.

Suddenly, a powerful suction force from the depths of darkness pulled her over.

She felt like she was in the vortex of a storm, her whole body spinning rapidly. But the darkness she saw was still calm, without any abnormality or ripples.

But Jiang Jingyuan was relieved, the darkness finally moved.

She was thrown into the center of the suction deep in the darkness.

Suddenly, the buzzing sound disappeared, and the boundless darkness turned into a thin blackness when the eyes were closed. Jiang Jingyuan lay on his side in the bed, holding a corner of the quilt in his hand.

Jiang Jingyuan was stunned for a moment, her shallow mind feeling uncomfortable. She opened her eyes and saw moonlight pouring in through the window in the dim light.

She failed?!

Jiang Jingyuan was shocked.

After being in disbelief, Jiang Jingyuan realized with regret that she was too panicked just now.

Just now, she had to touch the familiar texture of the bedding before she could focus on the darkness with peace of mind. This was a kind of resistance in itself.

"And..." Jiang Jingyuan subconsciously compared and thought, "Last time, the buzzing sound was also loud, but I seem to remember that it was not far above and behind, so it wouldn't have caused such a headache. But this time, the buzzing sound enveloped my head and made it hurt."

What is the reason for the difference between the two?

Distractions? She didn't know, but she had a vague feeling that it wasn't because of that.

Jiang Jingyuan couldn't figure it out.

She turned over, lay flat on her back, closed her eyes and let her thoughts wander again, entering a daze.

If she can't figure it out and doesn't know, then try again!

Jiang Jingyuan's breathing gradually became calmer...

The tall, thriving, ancient forest is full of greenery, with large patches of thick, emerald green moss.

On the relatively flat hillside, ancient trees are intertwined with roots, almost touching the ground and growing towards the sky. The gray-brown and almost black trunks are almost covered with bright green moss.

The sun was shining, and the woods were still bright.

Jiang Jingyuan and the others walked uphill together. The person in front of her handed her a bronze bracelet with obvious grains and said, "Try it."

Jiang Jingyuan took it and put it on his right wrist. He lowered his eyes to take a look, a little startled, and said, "Is this, is it?"

She raised her right hand, shook it left and right, and said, "There's one over here, too."

The person in front of her murmured, "Hmm," and handed her a mottled bronze open ring. Jiang Jingyuan took it as well, but before she even put it on her finger, she already sensed the answer.

The man stopped, turned around and led her up the hill, saying:

"There are sentient beings following you, and they also want to practice with you..."

Jiang Jingyuan felt an inexplicable sense of peace, her panic gone, and she actually felt a sense of joy. If it were just one or two, she would be uncontrollably panicked, but when it came to a whole group... she inexplicably relaxed, feeling that it was nothing.

Jiang Jingyuan smiled and nodded, "I understand."

I see.

It’s nothing…

What the hell is this!!!

Jiang Jingyuan suddenly opened his eyes, his pupils trembling, the moonlight was blocked, and there was a thick darkness in front of him.

She fell there in a cold sweat, not daring to move.

What does it mean that “there are sentient beings following you”?

What does it mean? What does it mean?! It can’t be what she understood!

Jiang Jingyuan's eyes went dark.

She was filled with fear and couldn't tell whether she was relaxed or tense.

Suddenly, a finger seemed to reach out from the darkness and poke the back of her neck. With the force she felt, the back of her neck bounced violently.

Jiang Jingyuan froze instantly.

Then, she felt a sudden bounce on the left side of her waist.

Jiang Jingyuan almost fainted!

Fear leaped in his heart. Jiang Jingyuan stared at the darkness ahead, hoping that Sheng Liang next door could communicate with him telepathically and come to save him.

After a long while, Jiang Jingyuan had to accept the reality. He took a deep breath, threw back the quilt, jumped out of bed, lit the lamp with a flick of his hand, and rushed out of the room without looking back.

She ran to the next room and "splash!" She dived into the little fox's bedding like a fish into water.
