Discussions about death

Discussions about death

The next morning, before leaving the house, Mo Yang turned back and asked Fan Siwen, "Is the gateway locked?"

Fan Siwen yawned and replied, "It's off, it's off."

I happened to run into some young people heading out. "Good morning, what are you talking about?"

"He didn't say anything." Mo Yang walked over first.

This attitude left the young people completely bewildered.

Even though she had been at work for quite some time, Fan Siwen was still yawning at her workstation, looking like she hadn't woken up yet.

The young man next to him teased him, "What's wrong? Insomnia in a new environment? You're rich."

Fan Siwen readily agreed, "That's right, I was playing games and didn't keep track of the time, so I missed my bedtime."

"Playing games? What do you use to play?"

The young man immediately looked over, alert.

"Don't listen to his nonsense, he must be dreaming," Mo Yang quickly tried to smooth things over.

"You're hard of hearing. Which ear heard me say I was playing games?"

Song Yize offered him this opportunity, and he should have accepted it, but who knew he would insist on arguing with Mo Yang.

"I also heard you say you hit him."

The girl next to him also spoke up in his defense.

Now it's out, it can't be hidden anymore.

"Professors, are you two hiding something from us?" the young man began to openly expose them.

Mo Yang turned around, hiding the unnatural expression on his face. "What am I hiding from you? I went to bed very early yesterday."

The young man looked at Fan Siwen again.

"Alright, alright, to tell you the truth," Fan Siwen couldn't hold back any longer, "I had someone secretly set up a network." He spoke so frankly, as if to say, "Praise me, look how amazing I am."

"What? You're doing this again? Have you forgotten who you were locked up for last time?!"

"Why didn't you say so sooner!" The girl's reaction was noticeably different from that of the young boy.

"Bu'er, you agree with him too?"

"That was last time, and nobody cares about us now."

Fan Siwen's face was clearly filled with disdain.

"Who knows when Hou Chengjie might take over again..."

Hou Chengjie is dead.

Mo Yang interrupted the boy.

"Then there will be another Hou Chengjie." The young man's voice gradually faded away.

"Moreover, not only is Hou Chengjie dead, but in the eyes of outsiders, I am also dead."

Mo Yang promptly broke the awkward and somber atmosphere.

"What?" The young man's face was full of disbelief.

"Professor, could you say that again?" Fan Siwen reacted promptly this time.

"How many times do you want to hear me die?" Mo Yang turned around and questioned the man directly.

"No, I didn't hear you clearly. How did you die? Why do you say you're dead?"

"Where did you see that?" The young man's question hit the nail on the head.

“On the online platform,” Mo Yang replied.

"That's all unreliable. And even if Fan Siwen got his hands on the internet, it would definitely be an external website. Information on external websites is only for others to see and doesn't count."

"You mean, my death was for show? Thank you, you comforted me."

“But no matter what, in the eyes of outsiders, you are still dead.” Fan Siwen delivered the final blow.

"Not only am I dead, but I'm also being mourned online." Mo Yang said these two sentences viciously, as if to say, "Are you satisfied now?"

"So you're really furious now. Let me interview you. You were transported to another world, and then became incredibly popular there. What's that like?"

Fan Siwen asked with a sincere expression.

Mo Yang didn't answer.

"Professor, you said that from the very beginning, cosmic dust appeared, slowly condensed, and after a long period of evolution, nebula fragments appeared. After hundreds of millions of years, large cosmic rocks were formed, like the asteroid belt, revolving around a certain center. After a long cosmic cycle, these basic yet complex cosmic substances finally condensed into the prototype of planets." The girl spoke these words slowly, as if they contained a gentle antidote.

"Are you saying that the emergence of humans on Earth was the result of a long period of evolution?" Mo Yang responded to the girl's words with utmost gentleness.

"Blue Star appeared later than other celestial bodies in the universe, proving that humanity has been able to evolve to its current state under protection," the girl explained patiently.

"That's not necessarily true. Earth also went through a long prehistoric civilization and a complex evolutionary process of biodiversity before finally forming humans. Of course, humans are not necessarily the final stage of evolution. Who knows how they suddenly evolved into the human species and took over Earth?" At this crucial moment, the usually tactful Fan Siwen suddenly lost his mind and insisted on being stubborn.

"According to scientists' research, the formation of humankind is the inevitable result of the evolution of complex life forms." The young man cited scientific theories to present the facts.

"This is just general reasoning. Nobody knows the specifics, and nobody has recorded the entire process of human evolution. Trying to prove it with just a few fossils is just talking big." Fan Siwen couldn't resist this argument and insisted on retorting.

"We happen to be researching time travel technology. Once our research results are available, we can travel back in time to prove all of this," the young man responded with a positive attitude.

"You're saying that after so many generations of humanity, no one has ever invented a camera to record all of this, like they do with documenting the animal kingdom?"

"Even with cameras, there needs to be a constant battery and undamaged parts. Animal documentaries also need someone to film them. Not to mention ancient times, where an acid rainstorm could destroy everything."

"Didn't you say we weren't the original people? I don't believe that among all the groups of people who existed before us, there wasn't anyone smart enough to invent a camera that never runs out of power! What if we traveled back in time, dug one up, and if we filmed something, wouldn't we be able to sell it for a good price!"

"Then I would suggest that you wait until our time machine is invented, travel to the prehistoric civilization yourself, bury an energy camera, and after filming everything, travel back to that place to retrieve it. That has a higher probability of success."

"After being transformed by river sediment for hundreds or even thousands of years, who knows where it will end up? Where can we find it?"

"This is already the highest probability within the controllable range."

The young people still keep Fan Siwen company as he daydreams.

"If the Blue Star civilization emerged later than other celestial civilizations, wouldn't other advanced interstellar civilizations have records documenting our civilization's explorations? We could borrow them to take a look."

"Are you saying that when our human civilization develops to a certain level, and our spacetime positioning and recording technology becomes unprecedentedly advanced, we will be able to capture the entire evolutionary process of other planets before the destruction of life, is that right?"

"Yes, that's the idea. If we could exceed the speed of light, we could even capture their past and present, not just based on ancient times."

"Have you considered the destruction of the planet?" the girl suddenly interrupted their conversation.

"You mean we can even observe the process of their planet's destruction?"

"No, it's ours. Over the past 700 million years, Earth has been gradually slowing down in a stepped manner, and the distance between Earth and the Moon has increased by about 20,000 kilometers. Moreover, this slowdown is phased, not continuous, meaning it's uncertain when it will slow down again. The last two slowdowns occurred 500 million and 200 million years ago. Furthermore, Earth's rotation affects the survival and development of life on Earth, and triggering a global mass extinction event is not impossible. 4 billion kilometers away from Earth, on the 200-kilometer-diameter, all-metallic asteroid Psyche, hydroxyl molecules have been detected, and scientists have detected the possibility that this is water. This hydrated mineral may have originated from external sources, including those considered to be..." This hydration is likely a product of collisions with other celestial bodies, left behind in the core. However, if the hydration is natural or endogenous, then Psyche's evolutionary history might conflict with our current understanding of collision models. Therefore, the presence of these hydrated minerals suggests that Psyche may have once harbored life. Remember the massive rainstorm that lasted over 2 million years? It led to the widespread proliferation of dinosaurs, who eventually conquered most of Earth. However, they also ultimately perished. No one can be certain whether Earth will experience such extreme environments in the future. At least for now, Earth's temperature is constantly rising. As for whether there will ever be a day with temperatures similar to those of a volcanic eruption, nobody can say for sure.

“You’re thinking too far ahead,” Mo Yang interrupted Chen Lili’s emotional outburst. “Even if this situation might happen, it’s certainly not something people today are likely to experience.”

"Perhaps," Chen Lili replied softly.

"Then you're not just traveling forward, we're probably going to travel to the future. Should we go and see if humanity will ever go extinct?" Fan Siwen said gloatingly, as if everything he was talking about had nothing to do with him.

"Do you think this project we're working on will be completed before we get old?" The girl suddenly showed a hint of optimism.

"Don't talk nonsense. This project is theoretically supposed to produce results in the next few years. It's fine if we wait until we're old, but do you expect us to be locked up in this place for the rest of our lives?" Fan Siwen clearly didn't buy it.

"If you don't want to, then hurry up with what you're doing. Look at those two chatting, but neither of them is progressing as slowly as you." Mo Yang's words shot out, directly hitting Fan Siwen on the head.

When Fan Siwen saw the person standing in front of her, she burst into tears, saying, "Professor, you're being unfair."

"If I show any more favoritism, we'll never be able to get out of here in our next life."

As Mo Yang spoke, he tapped him on the head.

"Tap lightly, it hurts a lot. If you get brain damage, you won't be able to work anymore." Fan Siwen covered his head, threatening a work injury.

Upon hearing this, Mo Yang quickly moved far away, knowing that this little rascal might say something else next.

He never misses an opportunity to take advantage of someone.

"Professor, I've injured my brain. Could I please take a few days off to rest and recover?"

Upon hearing the sound, Mo Yang quickly went to the restroom.

"Professor...Professor..."
