Chapter 66: Much More Righteous

Zhu Yixin was furious.

Although they are currently newbies, Xue Shan's self-abandonment infuriates her even more.

It's also heartbreaking.

As the zombie leader's yellowed, sharp fangs drew ever closer to Xue Shan's fair and slender neck, Zhu Yi's eyes blazed with fury.

I'm going all out! Even a newbie has a temper! Do you really think I'm a pushover?

Even Zhao Cai disagrees!

Zhu Yi told Wei Weiwei to stay away to avoid accidental injury in the event of a fight.

The gleaming, gleaming horse-slaying saber came forth like a dragon emerging from its sheath, carrying a thunderous force that rivaled the brilliance of the heavens.

Zhu Yi unleashed the golden, righteous energy from the Brahma Lamp onto the thick blade. With a few whirling flashes, he leaped through the surrounding zombies and struck the zombie leader heavily on the neck.

The zombie leader was so badly beaten that he saw stars. The bloody food that was about to be eaten was gone in an instant, and evil anger rose up!

"You wanted to bite that girl's neck? Well, I'll show you what I'm capable of!"

Zhu Yi didn't care about anything else, whether she could win or not, she just had to do it!

"Shoot!" The zombie leader, his messy, yellowish-gray hair disheveled in the wind, shouted to the surrounding zombies to find the person who had attacked him.

Wei Weiwei turned around and her face suddenly turned pale.

She huddled behind a dead tree not far away, her watery eyes filled with Zhu Yi's dashing and agile figure, wielding a large knife with powerful and graceful movements.

As she dodged the poisonous creatures beneath her feet, she trembled as she aimed her Firebow at the zombie that was about to attack.

The glass rocket glowed red as it shot out, streaking across the sky like a meteor and dispelling the black mist in a small patch of the sky.

The fiery red light instantly attracted the zombies' attention, and they actually stopped to admire it.

Admiring? Zhu Yi found the way the zombies were all looking up at the sky rather comical.

Zhu Yi felt that these zombies were not stupid; they were conscious and capable of thinking.

Although they could neither see nor smell Zhu Yi, under the orderly command of the zombie leader, they surrounded Zhu Yi and Xue Shan.

They came crashing down layer by layer, and Zhu Yi was fighting hard in the middle.

Two little zombies hopped and played around the big zombie, participating briefly in the hunting and waiting to be eaten.

Zhu Yi's swift and skillful knife work slashed across the zombies, seemingly arrogant, yet producing virtually no sparks...

Even the most righteous and powerful aura is useless.

Wei Weiwei, watching from a distance, also looked anxious, but then realized that it seemed her Fire Bow hadn't caused any real damage.

"Junior Sister, you go quickly, don't worry about me!" Xue Shan covered the wound from the shallow bite of the zombie leader and said goodbye to Zhu Yi in a deep voice.

Zhu Yi somersaulted over and slammed her broadsword down on the little zombie's claws that were trying to sneak up on Xue Shan. She angrily said, "Bah! There's always a way out. How can we just become food for a zombie like this? How can we be worthy of all the food I prepared!"

Xue Shan couldn't hear or see Zhu Yi, but when the zombie's teeth were interrupted when they bit into her neck, she had a feeling that her junior sister must have returned.

"..." Xue Shan's concealment talisman dissipated, and she received no response, leaving her speechless.

The menacing zombies before her reminded her of her parents back home.

When faced with life and death, people's thoughts are always in turmoil.

Her family was poor, and although her father was lazy and loved to eat, he would sometimes bring her and her younger brother some sweets and snacks.

When Xue Shan was twelve years old, she was already one of the prettiest girls in the village, and many matchmakers came to propose marriage.

Not wanting her young daughter to marry so early, her mother secretly took out a sum of money from the household budget and sent Xue Shan to participate in the entrance examination of the Hehuan Sect.

On the day she left home to become an apprentice, the moonlight was hazy. Her mother secretly woke her up in the middle of the night, and, holding back her tears, saw her off under the cover of darkness.

Looking back on her six years of cultivation life in the sect, Xue Shan's only thought was to cultivate her skills as soon as possible, break through to the Golden Core stage, and save up more spirit stones to return home in glory.

Tears welled up uncontrollably. She sniffled, then took out the Hehuan Sword again and rejoined the battle. She didn't want to become food for zombies, nor did she want to perish in the First Sect Trial.

She also saved up some spirit stones and bought some clothes, weapons, jade spirit tools, and other items from the Treasure Vault. These were all the things she had accumulated by doing errands for others recently, and she would bring them back to her family later.

She still has so many unfulfilled wishes; she doesn't want to end here like this!

"I was wrong! Junior Sister, I shouldn't have given up so easily!" Xue Shan gathered her spiritual power, and the smooth blade of the Hehuan Sword flashed with shimmering magic. She unleashed her sword move, slicing off a piece of the zombie's clothing.

"Saha!" Charge! Someone is working among us, but we can't see or smell him!

The zombie leader's dry, hoarse throat uttered the secret language of zombies, all of which reached Zhu Yi's ears. Zhu Yi smiled knowingly, "Hehe, the royal-level concealment talisman my master gave me is no useless piece of paper, it's naturally very powerful!"

Thinking of this, Zhu Yi dodged the zombies' chaotic pounces and quickly walked to Xue Shan's side. As Xue Shan raised her arm, she slapped Xue Shan's chest, twitched her lips, and stared at Xue Shan's neck with an annoyed expression.

After the talisman was applied, Xue Shan instantly became invisible in front of the zombie and could clearly see the worry on Zhu Yi's face.

The same Royal-grade Concealment Talisman, when applied by one person, allows those within the group to see each other, but not outsiders.

Beneath the dark crystal goggles, Zhu Yi's eyes were filled with worry. She was a little annoyed with Xue Shan at this moment. How could she dare to use spiritual power to fight when she was already injured?

"Black smoke is coming out of the little hole on your neck! Sister Shanshan, quickly put away your spiritual power!"

Zhu Yi's face darkened, and without saying a word, she pulled out a handful of glutinous rice and poured it upside down on Xue Shan's neck. Xue Shan felt a sharp pain, and her neck and head felt hot and burning, both painful and itchy...

Tears welled up again, no wonder she had seen a sense of immaturity in Zhu Yi's eyes earlier.

"Hurry up, Sister Shanshan, I want to play with these zombies a little longer!"

Zhu Yi hurriedly found two different antidote pills and stuffed them into Xue Shan's hand: "The red one is a detoxifying pill, and the green one is a yin-resolving pill. Take them aside and try them out. Take half a pill and see which one can cure the corpse poison!"

Zhu Yi took out four royal-grade pills, two red and two green. Upon hearing this, Xue Shan hesitated and asked, "Junior Sister, are you alright here alone?"

"Don't worry! Go over there by the dead tree. There's a group of poisonous creatures over there with Weiwei. Give her half of the pills. I need to study the zombies!"

As she spoke, Zhu Yi pushed Xue Shan out. The zombies clearly sensed that there were people around them, but they couldn't find them no matter what they did, and they became increasingly angry.

Even the little zombies, who had been eagerly anticipating their arrival, couldn't resist weaving through the gaps between the big zombies, searching for their soon-to-be-acquired prey.

His little nose twitched as he sniffed around, just like a little puppy...

Zhu Yi hid to the side, finding the little zombies' round, soft, and cute heads rather amusing.

"Don't let the filthy appearance of the large zombies fool you, the two little ones are quite clean," Zhu Yi couldn't help but remark.

"That's right, those two little guys are clearly purebred zombies, even more poisonous than those big zombies!" Leader Flower poked her head out of the Demon Locking Bag, her voice still as sweet and delicate as a nightingale's. Zhu Yi listened with some curiosity.

"Aren't you demonic plants supposed to be off-limits in the Immortal Peach Secret Realm? How did you get out here?"

Hua Feiluan, her face flushed with red petals, shrank back awkwardly: "I was just curious! I'm a demonic plant! Of course I can withstand a mere Yin Soldier Realm cultivator!"

"The aura here is all sinister and evil. Although it's different from other people's demonic energy, it has been tempered by heavenly lightning, making it much more righteous than these!"
