Chapter 145 Persuasion

As soon as I stepped over the threshold, I saw Fang Chiyue standing there with an anxious look on his face, a thin layer of sweat on his forehead.

"Chi Yue, what happened?" Shen Yuhan asked anxiously, feeling vaguely uneasy.

Fang Chiyue raised her head, her face pale and her voice trembling: "Master, my sister...she didn't come to the clinic this morning."

"I searched all the way here and found the powder she had scattered on the road. I'm afraid she's been... kidnapped!"

Shen Yuhan's face instantly turned gloomy, and his heart suddenly tightened.

He clenched his fists and a cold look flashed in his eyes.

If Fang Qingyue was kidnapped, it was definitely not done by ordinary robbers. There must be a conspiracy behind it.

Song Xiaoya's shadow immediately appeared in his mind, and a surge of anger suddenly rose in his chest.

"Take me to see the traces of the powder!"

Shen Yuhan ordered in a cold voice, and then immediately asked the guards to prepare the horses, and hurriedly followed Fang Chiyue.

The wind was howling in the wilderness.

The sky was gloomy, as if foreshadowing the coming of a storm.

Fang Qingyue was escorted all the way by the black-clad assassins and was exhausted. The road under her feet became more and more desolate. There was no one around, only rocks and weeds everywhere.

Her eyes were tightly locked, not daring to relax even a little, but her mind was racing, searching for a chance to escape.

The assassins took her to the edge of a cliff. The surroundings were vast and there was an unfathomable abyss under her feet. She could faintly hear the sound of flowing water under the cliff.

The leading man in black smiled coldly, obviously not intending to deal with Fang Qingyue for too long.

"This is where you will die." The black-clad assassin's voice was cold and emotionless.

Fang Qingyue knew that delaying time was the only thing she could do at the moment.

She raised her head with difficulty, a hint of pleading in her eyes, and said calmly: "My fellow heroes, I know you are doing this for money, and I don't blame you."

"But if you are willing to let me live, I am willing to pay double the reward. Master Shen Yuhan will pay more money as long as you are willing."

When the assassins heard the word "money", their expressions wavered slightly. The man in black who was leading the group had a flickering look in his eyes, and was obviously hesitant.

Seeing this, Fang Qingyue quickly seized the opportunity, and said anxiously: "If you want money, you can name your price. I have a way to make Master Shen Yuhan meet your requirements."

"Why would you want to die for a business deal? You're just trying to make a living. I understand. How about we both take a step back?"

She deliberately spoke sincerely, looking directly at the assassins, trying to make her words seem more convincing.

The leading assassin frowned, seemingly shaken by her proposal.

He slowly turned around and whispered with the men beside him.

Fang Qingyue secretly rejoiced that she had gained some time.

As long as you can make the other party continue to hesitate, you will have a chance to escape.

However, after a few words, the leading assassin suddenly raised his head and his eyes became cold again.

He said decisively: "We accepted the money and did the job. There is no room for regret."

"Someone has already paid a huge price for your life. We can't break the contract."

Fang Qingyue felt a chill in her heart, and her hope of persuading the other party was dashed.

Her clenched fists trembled slightly, but her mind was still racing to think of other ways out.

Suddenly, she felt a slight tingling in her waist. It was the silver needle she carried with her.

"You...you can't do this!"

Fang Qingyue pretended to be panicked, staring at the eyes of the leading assassin. When the other party approached, she suddenly used all her strength, pulled out the silver needle and stabbed it into his eyes!

"Ah!" The assassin screamed and covered his left eye. Blood instantly gushed out of his eye socket. The assassin staggered backward, covering his eyes.

Fang Qingyue took the opportunity and ran away.

The other two assassins were shocked and angry. They reacted quickly and immediately chased after him with swords drawn.

Fang Qingyue ran wildly among the rocks and weeds, her breathing becoming more and more rapid. The footsteps of the assassin behind her were getting closer and closer. She couldn't escape, but at this moment she could only take a gamble and hope for a chance of survival.

Running to the edge of the cliff, Fang Qingyue looked around and found a narrow cave at his feet.

The rock wall was steep and precipitous. She gritted her teeth, jumped down, grabbed the protruding rocks on the rock wall with both hands, and quickly slid into the cave.

The entrance to the cave was extremely small, only wide enough for one person to pass through, but it was this narrow entrance that became her temporary shelter.

Fang Qingyue hid in the cave, holding her breath, suppressing her violently beating heart, her forehead covered in cold sweat.

She hid behind a pile of rocks, breathing rapidly.

The cave was dark and damp, and she could feel the cold touch of the stone walls. Fang Qingyue knew that as long as she kept silent, the black-clad assassin would find it difficult to discover this hidden cave entrance.

Outside, the assassins had chased to the edge of the cliff and looked around, but could not find any trace of Fang Qingyue.

"Damn woman! Where did she go?!"

An assassin cursed angrily, looking around anxiously.

"She must have jumped down just now. There's a cliff below. Not to mention her, even a master of Qinggong wouldn't be able to survive!"

Another assassin said coldly, his face full of disdain.

The leading assassin covered his injured eye, his face grim as he roared, "No! We must find her body! If she's still alive, none of us will be able to report back!"

Fang Qingyue hid in the cave, and when she heard the assassin outside searching for her, she felt a surge of nervousness. She moved cautiously, curling herself up tighter, trying not to make any noise.

"If we can't find her, none of us will be able to return alive!"

The leading assassin covered his injured eye, his voice threatening.
