Chapter 151: Escape Begins

Fang Chiyue wiped the mud off Fang Qingyue's face while whispering with tears in her eyes.

Her fingers gently brushed across Fang Qingyue's face, as if to confirm whether she had really returned, and as if to heal the scars she had sustained along the way.

Tears kept dripping onto their lapels, wetting Fang Chiyue's cuffs, and the cloth became heavy because of the tears.

“Sister, you’ve suffered so much…what on earth have you been through?”

"I've been waiting for you for so long, but there's been no news from you."

Fang Chiyue's voice was intermittent and choked with sobs.

Fang Qingyue patted her hand gently. She forced a smile and said gently, "Chiyue, don't cry. This is all my problem. It has nothing to do with you."

"I'm back, and I'm relieved to see that you're fine."

She took a deep breath, suppressed the bitterness in her heart, and helped Fang Chiyue back to the chair.

But now, I have to leave again.

And this time, the situation is more dangerous than ever.

"Chi Yue, I'm fine, I just ran into some trouble."

"You know, the situation in the capital has been chaotic these days, and someone is hunting me."

"I fled to the mountains and was taken care of by a grandmother, so I was safe and sound."

Fang Qingyue explained softly, trying to keep her voice steady, "But now, I have to leave here again."

"elder sister……"

When Fang Chiyue heard that she was leaving, she immediately held Fang Qingyue's sleeve tightly, her eyes full of reluctance.

“Chi Yue, I came back to ask you for some food and dry rations.

My mother-in-law from the mountains saved me, but her family is poor. I can’t burden her any longer.”

Fang Chiyue frowned upon hearing this, and was obviously unwilling to let Fang Qingyue leave again.

Although she couldn't see, she could sense the danger and crisis of her journey from Fang Qingyue's tone.

She bit her lip, a hint of determination flashed in her eyes, and she suddenly stood up.

"Sister, I'll go with you!"

Fang Qingyue was startled, then smiled bitterly and shook her head: "No, Chi Yue, you can't go with me."

"This journey is full of dangers. The assassin is still looking for me. I could be in danger at any time. If you follow me, it will only bring you trouble."

Fang Chiyue's hands trembled slightly, but her expression was resolute: "Sister, you are my only family. I can't let you face these dangers alone."

"You've saved me countless times, and now it's my turn to accompany you. No matter what the road ahead holds, I will walk with you."

Fang Qingyue looked at her, deeply moved, but she still didn't want to involve her in this escape crisis: "Chi Yue, listen to me, you stay here."

"This is your safest place. Outside...it's really too dangerous outside."

Fang Chiyue shook her head stubbornly, her eyes as firm as a rock: "Sister, I'm already blind. To me, this world is the same everywhere."

"I'm not afraid of danger, I'm only afraid of losing you."

Her voice was quiet, but it was filled with determination.

Fang Qingyue was overwhelmed with emotions. Faced with such a persistent sister, she was powerless to refuse.

Given Fang Chiyue's personality, if I insist on not taking her with me, she will definitely find ways to follow me.

She sighed softly and made a decision in her heart: "Okay, Chi Yue, since you insist so much, I will take you away. But you must promise me that you will follow my instructions on the way and never act impulsively."

A trace of tears flashed in Fang Chiyue's eyes, and she nodded heavily: "Sister, I will listen to you."

Fang Qingyue gently stroked her hand. Although she was extremely anxious, at least she was no longer alone.

Next, the two of them quickly packed up the supplies they could take away from the clinic.

While Fang Qingyue was selecting important medicinal herbs from the medicine cabinet, she was thinking about how to deal with the next situation.

It is inevitable to encounter unexpected situations on the road, and medicinal materials are the key to their lives.

"Chi Yue, help me find some herbs to stop bleeding and some herbs to detoxify."

Fang Qingyue gave instructions while tidying up.

Fang Chiyue nodded, and relying on her familiarity with every corner of the clinic, she fumbled for the medicinal materials accurately.

Although she couldn't see, her hands were extremely dexterous and her movements were light, and it was obvious that she had long been accustomed to this kind of life.

The two of them quickly packed up the medicinal materials and food in the clinic, and stuffed simple clothes and dry food into the bags.

Fang Qingyue carried the heavy package and took a deep breath: "Chiyue, get ready, we are leaving."

Fang Chiyue gently pulled her sister's sleeve. Although she couldn't see it, she could feel the tense and heavy atmosphere in the air.

She took a deep breath and held her sister's hand tightly: "Sister, let's go together."

The two of them quickly packed up the herbs and dry food, carried their packages, and left the clinic before the city gates closed in the afternoon.

They walked through the narrow alleys of the capital. The surrounding streets were quiet, with only the occasional barking of dogs and the footsteps of patrolmen in the distance.

Fang Chiyue held Fang Qingyue's hand tightly, her ears sensitive to the movements around her, while Fang Qingyue's eyes were sharp, observing her surroundings vigilantly.

The cold night wind blew across their cheeks with a hint of coolness, as if reminding them of the dangers on this road.

"Sister, are we almost at the city gate?"

Fang Chiyue asked in a low voice, with a hint of uneasiness in her tone.

"It will be almost done, Chi Yue, don't worry." Fang Qingyue responded softly. Although she knew the difficulties she might encounter next, she didn't dare to let Chi Yue feel her worry.

They walked around an alley and finally saw the city gate of the capital.

Several guards were standing at the gate, closely checking every citizen leaving the city.
