Fang Qingyue placed Chi Yue on the stone bench in the yard, and began to clear the weeds in the yard and sweep the dusty ground.
She picked up the broom and swung it to sweep the fallen leaves and dirt in the yard into a pile, then cleaned the corners of the house.
Although Chi Yue couldn't see, she wanted to help, so she fumbled around to find some old tools and helped clean up the pebbles and broken bricks in the yard.
Although the work is hard, both of them are full of enthusiasm.
After a busy day, the dilapidated little yard gradually became much tidier.
Fang Qingyue stood under the locust tree, looking at the brand new courtyard. This would be the new home for her and Chi Yuexin.
“Chi Yue, we can open a clinic here.
When Chi Yue heard her sister's words, a happy smile appeared on her face: "Sister, I believe you."
"Let's work together to clean up this place and open a clinic."
A few days later, Fang Qingyue and Fang Chiyue's clinic finally opened its doors to welcome patients.
They carefully arranged the yard and tidied up the originally dilapidated house.
A simple wooden sign was hung at the door with the words "Qingyue Medical Clinic" written on it in beautiful handwriting.
Although the Jiangnan town is quiet, the atmosphere of life among neighbors is very strong.
In the mornings, vegetable vendors pass by with their carts, and street vendors begin to set out their wares for the morning market.
Fang Qingyue stood at the door of the clinic, smiling as she arranged the pots of herbs in front of the door, feeling at peace.
"Sister, this place is really suitable for us."
Fang Chiyue sat in the house, listening to the increasingly lively sounds outside the yard, her heart filled with longing for the future.
"Yeah, Chiyue, it's very quiet here."
Fang Qingyue looked back at her sister sitting in the house, and felt a little warm in her heart.
After these days of care, the clinic has been completely renovated, and their lives are gradually getting back on track.
However, Fang Qingyue soon discovered that it was not so easy for them to be accepted by this small town.
In the first few days after the clinic opened, although many people passed by, few people actually came in for treatment.
Occasionally, a few passers-by looked at the clinic from afar, with a hint of suspicion in their eyes, but eventually they all left in a hurry.
This made Fang Qingyue feel vaguely uneasy.
"Sister, why haven't we had anyone come after we've been open for a few days?"
Fang Chiyue asked cautiously, with a hint of worry in her tone.
"It's okay, Chi Yue, maybe everyone is not familiar with us yet."
Fang Qingyue comforted him. Although she had some doubts in her heart, she believed that as time went on, the clinic would be accepted by the people in the town.
Fang Qingyue was about to clean the open space in front of the clinic when she suddenly heard several women whispering not far away.
She frowned and walked closer quietly before she heard what they were talking about.
"Have you heard? The two women in that newly opened clinic look weird, as if they came out of a brothel." A fat woman said as she curled her lips, her expression full of contempt.
"I've felt something was wrong for a long time! How can two women from a respectable family open a clinic? They even say they're treating patients, but I'm afraid it's not a legitimate business." Another woman took over, with obvious malice in her voice.
"Hmph, I passed by yesterday and saw those two women. One of them was quite pretty. I guess she was the most beautiful girl in the brothel. She just escaped and found a place to hide." Another woman echoed, her face full of disdain.
When Fang Qingyue heard these words, she felt a surge of anger in her heart.
She had wanted to be patient, but what these people said was really too much.
She put down the broom in her hand, walked quickly to them, and said in a cold tone: "What right do you have to talk nonsense?"
"We are a legitimate medical clinic. What you said is too much!"
The women obviously did not expect Fang Qingyue to appear suddenly, and were stunned for a moment.
Then the obese woman sneered, put her hands on her hips, and fought back without flinching: "Hey, what, are you feeling guilty?"
"We were just saying it casually. What's wrong? Are we wrong?"
Seeing this, another woman quickly agreed: "Yes, who knows what you two do?"
"A blind man and a woman of unknown origin, who knows if you are goblins that escaped from somewhere?"
Fang Qingyue's face turned pale in an instant, and her fingers trembled slightly.
She didn't expect these people to be so mean and vicious that they could fabricate such disgusting rumors out of thin air.
"you!"
Fang Qingyue gritted her teeth and was about to retort when she suddenly heard a low voice coming from behind her.
"Shut up!"
Fang Qingyue turned her head and saw a tall man walking slowly towards her.
The man was wearing a light blue robe and had a handsome face. His eyes were as sharp as knives as he swept over the women.
There was a sense of indifference between his brows, but at this moment, there was a hint of coldness in his eyes.
"You women are so immoral and full of nonsense!"
The man's voice was deep and powerful, with unquestionable majesty, and his eyes swept sharply over the women.
The women were obviously frightened by the sudden appearance of the man. They all shrank their necks and dared not look him in the eye.
The obese woman wanted to make a few more excuses, but when she met the man's cold gaze, her voice unconsciously lowered.
"Humph, mind your own business! We were just saying it casually, we didn't do anything wrong!"
She muttered something, then hurriedly left with the others.
Fang Qingyue stood there, her chest still heaving with anger.
She came back to her senses, looked at the man who had helped her, and was slightly startled.
