The two of them walked all the way to a warehouse in Xishi.
The warehouse was quite large and was filled with all kinds of medicinal herbs.
Fang Qingyue walked over under the guidance of Shopkeeper Jin and carefully examined the medicinal herbs.
The quality of these medicinal herbs is quite high, even better than those she has seen in other clinics.
Fang Qingyue looked up at Manager Jin in surprise, and for a moment she was a little skeptical of what he said.
"Except for some of the more remote Chinese medicine clinics in Beijing, most of them belong to different prominent families." Shopkeeper Jin gently placed his hand on a bag of medicine and said calmly, "These prominent families all have special suppliers for their medicinal materials. It's unlikely that they would buy from people like us."
He spoke sincerely, and Fang Qingyue dispelled the last trace of doubt: "I have just opened a clinic and need a large amount of medicinal materials. Could you please deliver them to my clinic?"
"Of course, just tell me what herbs you need, and I'll give you a price first to avoid any hassles."
He had already learned from the person who ordered him to do this that Fang Qingyue did not have much money on her.
I’m worried that the high price will scare Fang Qingyue away, so we have to communicate in advance.
The two of them quickly agreed on a price, which was much cheaper than other pharmacies.
Fang Qingyue immediately signed a contract with Manager Jin, who then had the medicinal materials delivered to Mingyue Clinic.
After making preparations, Fang Qingyue's Mingyue Medical Clinic opened.
On the opening day, she specially made some sachets and planned to distribute some to people entering the clinic.
However, she sat in the pharmacy for a whole day without any patient coming.
Most of the famous medical clinics in Beijing were located in the East Market, where wealthy families lived. Therefore, when patients in Beijing fell ill, they would subconsciously go to the East Market. No one would come to the West Market, let alone the pharmacy in the corner of the West Market.
Although she had made preparations, Fang Qingyue still felt extremely lost when faced with this situation.
When she returned home at night, Shen Yuhan noticed that Fang Qingyue was in a bad mood and asked her, "What's wrong?"
"It's okay." Fang Qingyue leaned gently in Shen Yuhan's arms, trying to squeeze out a smile, "It's just a little thing, it's nothing serious."
She would never bother Shen Yuhan with such a thing.
Shen Yuhan knew that Fang Qingyue didn't want to tell him, and he felt helpless.
The next day, when Fang Qingyue arrived at the clinic, someone was already waiting at the door.
He emitted a foul odor that was so unpleasant that people stayed away from him.
Looking closely, it seemed as if something was growing on this person's neck, even spreading to his cheeks. The skin repeatedly ulcerated and healed, making it look particularly terrifying.
"Doctor, please save me." As soon as the man saw Fang Qingyue, he knelt down on the ground.
"I'm sorry, your illness seems to be an infectious disease." Fang Qingyue said to the man, covering her nose with her hand.
As soon as she finished speaking, the man burst into tears: "Even you are unwilling to see me?"
As he spoke, he sat on the ground, his eyes full of frustration, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Oh, that's not what I meant." Fang Qingyue saw the man's expression of despair and hurriedly explained, "It's just that your illness is contagious. When I examine you, I may not touch your skin directly. I hope you can understand me."
Hearing her say this, the man finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He stood quietly a little further away from Fang Qingyue, and said embarrassedly, "I didn't know this disease was contagious before. Your willingness to treat me is already a great favor, and I don't mind."
Fang Qingyue opened the door of the clinic, let the person in, and sat on a stool beside him.
She turned around and took out a veil from the cabinet in the clinic and put it on her face. Then she said to the man, "Take off your outer clothes and your inner clothes so that I can take a good look at you."
Hearing this, the man took off his clothes.
The wounds on his body were infected and festering, and some fluid oozed out due to the friction of his clothes, making him look particularly horrible.
Fang Qingyue put on the gloves she had prepared in advance and gently pressed on the man's wound.
Blood mixed with pus oozed out and almost stained Fang Qingyue's gloves. She frowned slightly.
The patient's condition wasn't originally serious and could have been cured with earlier treatment, but now it had become like this. "Where did you get a doctor or medication before? How did your condition become so serious?"
Hearing this, the man shook his head and said in a hoarse voice, "I've never seen it."
He originally lived in Xishi, and when he first fell ill, he went to see a doctor.
But after the disease broke out, the wounds on his body began to fester and pus would ooze out, and scales like fish scales would grow on his body, which looked extremely scary. Therefore, no doctor was willing to examine him.
Besides, he didn't have much money on him, so he could only drag it on like this.
The reason I came to see Fang Qingyue this time was because my condition worsened again and I really had no other options, so I wanted to come here and try.
"I see." Fang Qingyue nodded, carefully checked the patient's condition, and took his pulse.
After a thorough inspection, she couldn't help but frown. Although she had previously recognized that the man's illness was contagious, his symptoms were so complex that it was difficult to discern what exactly was ailing him.
Seeing Fang Qingyue's embarrassed look, the patient suddenly became panicked again.
"Doctor, is my illness incurable?" If so, he would have to find a way to leave all the money he had saved to his wife.
Speaking of which, he had been living and eating with my wife these past few days, and she had never disliked him. But would he cause her to contract this disease as well?
