Chapter 106 I Want to Kiss You

Everyone inside knew exactly what he wanted to say.

Yao Zidian looked at Wei Wei and said, "Madam Meng, you should go back first. Lord Liu is an official appointed by the imperial court, not some bandit or brigand."

"He won't do anything to you, so don't worry too much."

He then called the guards at the door to send her back.

As Wei Wei was leaving, Prefect Liu was coming in.

As the two drew closer, Prefect Liu's gaze grew increasingly gloomy.

The guards warily stood in the middle to separate them, and only then were they able to leave the government office smoothly.

Xiaoqiao waited outside.

Upon seeing Wei Wei come out, he immediately went to greet her.

"What's wrong?" Xiaoyue asked in a low voice.

Xiao Qiao glanced warily at the guards behind her and cautiously replied, "Young Master Wang is still waiting in Chunfeng Tower. He told me to go directly there once I see Miss."

Xiao Yue'er frowned: "Didn't I say that Miss had something to do? Why is he in such a hurry?"

Xiao Qiao stuck out her tongue: "Now that Miss is out, besides, it's not easy for Miss to have a friend she can talk to, so she won't be stuck at home all day in a daze."

"Look at her, she's only seventeen, but she's always frowning like an old lady."

"Don't you feel bad seeing this?"

It's truly remarkable that Xiaoqiao'er could say so much.

However, she didn't often stay by the young lady's side, so she only saw the surface of many things.

Xiaoyue didn't know how to explain it for a moment.

The two maids were chatting happily with their heads down in front of them, while Wei Wei smiled at the guard somewhat embarrassedly: "I'm sorry to have made you laugh, young master."

The guard didn't find it funny and said in a very polite tone, "Young Madam Meng, you don't need to be so polite to me."

We walked a little further ahead.

As she approached Chunfeng Tower, she stopped in her tracks: "I have an appointment with a friend, so I'll trouble you to take me this far."

The guard subconsciously looked towards Chunfeng Tower, where he saw guests coming and going, and the scene was very harmonious.

“Since Madam Meng has made an appointment, I shall take my leave now.” He paused, looking at Wei Wei, and then asked, “The person who helped me out of that predicament in the crowd yesterday must have been Madam Meng, right?”

Wei Wei did not deny it: "It was indeed my maid who did it."

"The strategist around Prefect Liu is very cunning, so we can only use his own methods against him."

The guard's eyes were filled with gratitude: "I thank Madam Meng for her help. If you ever have the opportunity to go to the capital in the future, please feel free to ask me for help."

After saying this, he gave his name again before turning around and walking back.

Wei Wei stood at the entrance of Chunfeng Tower for a while, and only after she could no longer see anyone did she step into Chunfeng Tower.

The child had been waiting for a long time.

Upon seeing her, he immediately greeted her with a beaming smile: "Miss Wei has arrived. Let me show you up."

Wei Wei had already witnessed the waiter's resourcefulness last time, so she didn't hold back.

In the same private room as last time, Jiang Yu was still wearing a white robe.

A teacup was placed in front of him, already filled with tea.

His posture was relaxed, and when he leaned against the window and looked towards the door, his appearance was exceptionally handsome.

Wei Wei's heart started pounding uncontrollably again.

She gripped her hand tightly inside her sleeve to keep from giving anything away.

"Wu Guangyu, a third-class bodyguard of the fifth rank."

Jiang Yu suddenly spoke up, his voice carrying some indescribable emotions: "His father is a third-rank Yunhui General, who is highly valued by the emperor."

Wei Wei hadn't realized what he was talking about until now, when she understood that he was referring to the guard from earlier.

After listening, I was quite surprised.

I never expected that such a lowly guard would have such a powerful background.

However, no subtle changes were noticed in Jiang Yu.

Seeing Wei Wei's thoughtful expression, a hint of hurt flashed in his eyes.

Clearly, his status is far more powerful than that of a lowly guard!

Unfortunately, it has to be kept hidden.

Thinking about this made him feel very frustrated, and his face inevitably darkened.

Wei Wei finally noticed his unusual behavior.

She went in and sat down obediently opposite him, asking hesitantly, "Does the injury on your shoulder still hurt?"

Jiang Yu was stunned for a moment, then immediately realized that an opportunity had come.

"Um"

He answered vaguely, "It still hurts a little occasionally."

But in that look, he was clearly in so much pain that he was frowning.

Wei Wei's expression became tense: "Let's find a doctor to take a look."

Jiang Yu said, "The doctor said the injury is too deep and won't heal so quickly."

"They just told me to rest more."

Upon hearing this, Wei Wei's eyes showed guilt. She had troubled him to go to the yamen so late last night.

"Then...then you should stay home as much as possible these next few days. If there's anything you want to eat or use, I'll have someone deliver it to you."

Jiang Yu was already very satisfied with her concern.

A smile involuntarily crept onto his lips as he politely declined, saying, "I have an old servant at home; there's no need for such trouble."

He paused, his gaze falling on her earlobe, and suddenly remembered the feeling of touching it that night.

It's so soft, it must feel really nice to touch.

His voice softened as he looked at her and said, "If Miss Wei talks to me a few more times, my injuries will heal faster."

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Yu regretted it.

He had just been so engrossed in her ears that he couldn't control his thoughts at all.

This made him hesitant to act rashly.

Even if you are usually very capable in everything.

But he found himself becoming increasingly awkward and speechless in front of Wei Wei.

This isn't him at all!

He looked away, his voice laced with a laugh to ease the awkwardness: "If it's inconvenient, just pretend I didn't say anything."

Although the disappointment in her eyes flashed quickly, Wei Wei still managed to catch it.

This left her at a loss for what to do.

She unconsciously bit her lip lightly until it became even more bright red.

Jiang Yu, who had been secretly watching her, couldn't help but move her throat.

His eyes deepened, and his fingers unconsciously traced a circle on the table.

Something sprouted from his heart and grew into a towering tree without reason.

I can't keep watching like this. If I continue like this, I'll lose control of myself sooner or later.

What if we make her afraid or disgusted?

Jiang Yu let out a soft groan of pain before struggling to look away.

Wei Wei then moved closer to him.

"Will it be fine if we just talk a few more times?"

She asked softly.

His cheeks turned as red as apples, making him eager to take a bite and taste them immediately.

They were too close; close enough that Jiang Yu could smell the subtle fragrance emanating from her.

"Miss Wei."

His voice was hoarse, and it made people's bodies inexplicably soften: "If you don't back away a little, I'm going to kiss you."
