Wei Wei looked at her with difficulty: "This is not a good idea, they are investigating a case."
"If we disturb him unnecessarily, it might leave a bad impression on him and hinder our future plans."
Wei Cheng thought about it for a while and agreed that it made sense, so the matter was dropped.
After the two entered the private room, Wei Cheng pulled her to sit down and began to tell her about what had happened in the past few days.
"Didn't you tell me to keep an eye on Shaoyu last time?"
"That damned woman is like a persistent ghost; she's appeared around us more than once."
"I don't know if he was desperate, but he seemed a bit neurotic. He stood not far away staring at me, and I cursed him until my mouth was calloused."
After hearing her words, Wei Wei couldn't help but glance at Qi Yuan, the young master who had been by her side the whole time.
Perhaps it's because people's brains aren't functioning well these days, so they eat well.
He has gained some weight compared to before.
The person who was originally thin has now grown to be very well-proportioned.
He sat to Wei Cheng's left, constantly playing with her fingers.
When he saw Wei Wei looking over, he raised his head to meet her gaze, gave her a slight smile, and his eyes were very clear.
She's quite good-looking, no wonder Wei Cheng is reluctant to part with her.
"My wife, I want to go out and play," he suddenly said, his voice carrying a hint of coquetry.
Without thinking twice, Wei Cheng nodded in agreement: "Then you can't run around. Come back after playing for a while."
"Good wife, I'll do whatever you say."
He was extremely happy and stood up to leave.
When the maidservant beside her wanted to come and accompany her out, Wei Wei immediately stopped her.
"There are government officials outside right now, we shouldn't disturb them."
"I'm afraid of clashes and trouble."
"Let Young Master Qi play here. Let Xiao Yue'er find some fun things to play with."
Wei Cheng readily agreed after hearing the suggestion, but Qi Yuan was unwilling.
He was just a little kid, so of course he used noise.
"I want to get out! I want to get out!"
He frowned: "My wife promised me!"
Wei Cheng had a headache. She turned to the maid beside her and said, "Just take him around in this area, but don't go too far away."
Wei Wei looked at everything before her, her brows furrowed deeply: "Is he usually like this?"
Wei Cheng shook his head helplessly and replied with a smile, "It's not that often, but he does act unreasonably sometimes. But it's alright, as long as I agree to his requests, he's easy to talk to again."
Wei Wei's eyes flickered, but in the end she didn't say anything about staying.
Qi Yuan insisted on going out, and if he happened to run into the assassins, he would inevitably be killed in his haste.
She had already stopped it once.
There's no reason to keep blocking them.
If something really goes wrong, then you can only blame it on bad luck.
She began to talk about other things: "I saw Shaoyu once before, and she looked terrible. She was thin and her face was pale and bluish. Madam Wei probably did something to her."
Wei Cheng nodded: "This person has committed many evils. If she really dies, it will be a small retribution for her."
Wei Wei didn't care about Shao Yu, but she hadn't seen Madam Wei for a long time and wondered how she was doing.
She said, "If Shaoyu also dies, Madam Wei may become truly alone."
"Let's go see her together after this matter is temporarily resolved."
Wei Cheng nodded.
The two chatted for a while longer. After a while, a commotion suddenly broke out outside.
The sound came from a distance, probably from the direction of the male worshipper.
"What happened?"
Wei Cheng stood up and looked outside, puzzled.
Wei Wei's eyes flashed with realization, but she shook her head: "It's probably someone arguing. The young monks will handle it."
Wei Cheng, however, showed some unease.
"My husband went out. Is there a risk that he might get hurt by someone?"
Wei Wei did not answer immediately.
Her eyes were downcast, and her emotions were extremely complex.
"No, I have to go and take a look."
After Wei Cheng finished speaking, he hurriedly left the room.
The young novice monk who had just brought them in stumbled in at that moment, his voice trembling with fear: "Benefactors! Lock the courtyard immediately! There are many bad people outside with knives! Someone has been killed!"
Wei Wei's hand trembled.
Wei Cheng cried out urgently, "My husband is still outside, young master, did you see him just now?"
"She was wearing a blue coat, was very beautiful, and had a maidservant with her!"
The young novice monk just shook his head blankly: "I didn't see anyone, there wasn't a soul on the road..."
Wei Cheng was about to leave immediately.
At this moment, Wei Wei stepped forward and grabbed her hand: "It's too dangerous outside. You're just a weak woman going out to your death."
Wei Cheng's eyes were already red with anxiety: "He's just a child of a few years old right now. He doesn't know anything and doesn't understand anything."
"What should I do if something really happens?"
She was really anxious; her whole body was trembling with worry.
Wei Wei's hand did not loosen, but her voice softened a bit: "He also has a maid with him. I think that maid is very agile, even though she is young. She will definitely help him hide well."
Wei Cheng stared straight at her, tears already streaming down her face: "No, I have to go and find him."
Seeing that she wouldn't eat or drink, Wei Wei finally sighed: "I'll send someone to look for her. Don't go out."
