Chapter 12 Strange Movements Outside the Window

Granny Zhang's eyes darted around, and she spotted the foot-binding cloth in Wei Wei's hand!

Her body trembled, and her voice was filled with fear: "Young Madam, the Old Madam is only doing this for your own good."

"If you don't take good care of your health, how will you continue the Meng family line?"

Wei Wei chuckled softly, looking at this person whose only weakness was her stubbornness, and asked somewhat puzzled, "Granny, what benefits did the Meng family promise you that they would make you work so hard?"

Cold sweat began to pour down Zhang Mama's forehead. Her weak body retreated to the corner of the wall, and she said in a terrified voice, "Young Madam, I don't know what you mean!"

The pretty young girl opposite her raised an eyebrow: "What are you afraid of, Granny? I just want to ask, is there a problem with that medicine?"

"No!" Granny Zhang swore.

Wei Wei tilted her head and looked at her, her gaze gradually turning cold.

Although the person in front of her was afraid, she was still unwilling to say more, as if she simply did not believe that she would really do anything.

Her heart turned completely cold.

"Your nanny is loyal, but your loyalty is going to cost me my life."

She sighed softly, "What a pity, I really wanted to give you a chance."

Granny Zhang opened her eyes, wanting to ask what it meant, but more than that, she wanted to shout for help and wake up the people nearby!

By then, not only will she be able to survive, but the person who wants to kill her will also definitely not have a good ending!

Do you really think you're something special? You're nothing but a chicken waiting to be slaughtered!

However, her body was too weak.

The cry for help that hadn't yet been uttered was forced back down into her throat by Wei Wei's hand, leaving only a desperate sob.

The foot-binding cloth was wrapped around Granny Zhang's neck, and then gradually tightened.

"I'm sorry, Granny, if you want to kill me, I have no choice but to kill you."

"But don't worry, I'll have others burn lots of paper money for you, and I'll personally mourn for you, so that we can make up for all the years of our friendship."

Granny Zhang struggled frantically. She couldn't understand what she meant by "many years of feelings," but she knew she absolutely couldn't let this clown trample on her head!

Once she escapes with her life, I'll make sure she suffers a fate worse than death!

However, given her sickly appearance, all her efforts and thoughts were in vain.

The speed at which his body twisted was becoming increasingly weak.

Wei Wei continued her actions with her eyes half-closed, her face expressionless, only her slightly trembling eyelashes revealing her inner turmoil.

As the force in her arms gradually faded, Wei Wei took a breath and slowly released her grip.

Looking at Granny Zhang, who lay sprawled on the bed with her eyes bulging like mud, Wei Wei felt a mix of emotions.

This wicked man who aided and abetted the tyrant is dead.

She no longer had the chance to offer herself poison time and time again.

I should have been happy, but the depression in my heart didn't improve much.

Wei Wei reached out and covered her bulging eyes, murmuring softly, "If you're not happy, then come find me as a ghost. Your life is life, and so are other people's lives."

"Since you've made plans to harm others, you should also be able to withstand their retaliation."

After saying that, he didn't dare to delay any longer and instead hung the foot-binding cloth on the roof beam with all his might.

A loud noise suddenly came from the window next to the back wall, which was extremely jarring in the quiet night.

Wei Wei's already tense heart became even more nervous.

She suddenly looked in that direction; the window was still swaying in the wind, and it was pitch black outside.

Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest, and she stared straight ahead without moving for a long time.

If it's true that Granny Zhang really turned into a ghost, that would be too fast.

If it really were a ghost, she wouldn't be afraid.

The hatred in her heart was something even a mere ghost couldn't harm!

Footsteps could be heard coming from the courtyard at that moment, one heavy and one slow, heading this way.

This was a signal that she and Xiaoyue had planned long ago.

"Miss."

Little Moon called out softly from the doorway.

Wei Wei withdrew her gaze and said hastily, "Come in."

When Xiaoyue pushed the door open, she saw Zhang Mama lying motionless on the bed.

Her face was pale, and she looked very scared, but she didn't move her feet and waited for Wei Wei's next move.

The moment the two of them quietly discussed it, she had already made her decision.

Even if it means death, she will go with her young mistress.

"Lift him up and hang him up."

Wei Wei's voice became a little hoarse, but she continued with her original plan with practiced ease.

Xiao Yue'er shut her mouth and, after finishing her tasks with Wei Wei, began tidying up everything in the house.

It is essential to make people believe that Granny Zhang committed suicide by hanging.

Only after they could see that there was nothing wrong did the two of them leave again.

There was nothing unusual around, as if the window had really been blown open by the wind.

Wei Wei's whole body was trembling slightly, and it was almost dawn.

She told herself not to think about anything, and that she should go back to her room, close her eyes, and rest for a while so that she could cope with everything that was to come.

Little Yue'er has already been sent to the next room.

In the pitch-black room, Wei Wei sat blankly on the edge of the bed, listening to Xiao Qiao'er's long, even breaths, and her spirits finally began to recover.

The sounds of maids and servants moving about gradually filled the courtyard; dawn was breaking.

Wei Wei finally let out the breath she had been holding in.

The sound of the window opening as she killed Zhang Mama cast a shadow over her heart.

It suddenly reminded her of that night when she vaguely heard footsteps on the roof tiles.
