Chapter 43 Should We Admit Defeat?

Her behavior was tantamount to telling these people: she doesn't want anyone's help now, and anyone who says anything more is displeased with her.

The atmosphere was extremely tense. Wei Cheng, who hadn't spoken until now, finally spoke up: "Mrs. Wei, aren't you going to say something?"

"Your family business is now teetering on the brink of collapse. Are you already planning to give up entirely?"

Wei Wei was somewhat surprised and turned to look at Wei Cheng, who had a serious expression, wondering how she had suddenly gotten into this mess.

If only she speaks up, Madam Wei's hatred will surely extend to her.

Wei Wei deliberately provoked all of this, unwilling to let this smiling woman suffer unbearable pain prematurely.

Then he spoke up, "If Madam Wei doesn't speak up for justice, this matter won't be so easily resolved today."

Madam Wei finally came to her senses.

She subconsciously looked at Wei Wei, expecting to receive a threatening look, but to her surprise, it was full of sympathy and pity.

Her mouth opened slightly, and tears welled up in her eyes.

She dared not look any longer and quickly turned to look at her daughter-in-law beside her.

"Shaoyu, stop arguing with everyone."

This was the first time she had lectured Madam Wei here: "One should be forgiving when possible; they are only doing this for your own good."

Madam Wei, Shao Yu, opened her eyes wide in disbelief: "Mother! They were the ones who targeted us first!"

"Why are you siding with outsiders and unable to distinguish right from wrong?"

Madam Wei's expression didn't change much; she looked at her vulnerable expression with a numb expression: "I was listening. If you hadn't deliberately mocked Madam Meng, how could things have gotten so out of hand?"

"If you keep acting recklessly, let's go back. Staying here is just embarrassing!"

Shao Yu glared at him, gritting his teeth.

When she saw the mocking looks in everyone's eyes, she finally couldn't take it anymore.

"I'm not leaving! I'm going to stay here!"

Her eyes turned bloodshot as she stared at the people in front of her, as if she wanted to devour them.

Madam Wei closed her eyes and let out a long sigh: "If you don't want to leave, then I will leave."

After saying that, he actually stood up and walked towards the door.

They didn't linger at all.

Looking at her lonely figure, Wei Wei also decided to leave.

Whatever Jiang Changhe's purpose in keeping them here, he must have ill intentions.

She decided not to wait any longer.

Instead, he took this opportunity to catch up with Madam Wei and test what kind of person she really was!

After Madam Wei left, Shao Yu remained seated, refusing to bow his head.

She appeared somewhat deranged. Everyone silently watched the highly emotional Mrs. Wei, their interlaced gazes revealing a complex mix of emotions.

Wei Wei suddenly tugged at Madam Meng's sleeve cautiously, and said in a serious voice, "Second Aunt, please don't say anything more now. This person seems to be suffering from shock because of her husband's death; she definitely doesn't seem normal!"

She whispered in his ear, "What if it suddenly flares up? I'm afraid it might grab something and hurt us. Would that be worth it?"

After hearing her words, Madam Meng looked at the woman again, but unexpectedly met her gaze with those bloodshot eyes, which looked like she wanted to devour her!

Madam Meng was so frightened that she shuddered; she was truly terrified.

She swallowed hard and asked fearfully, "Then what should we do? We've already argued to this extent, are we just going to back down?"

After a moment's thought, Wei Wei said, "In that case, let's find an opportunity to leave after Miss Jiang returns."

Upon hearing this, Madam Meng Er couldn't help but hesitate.

Wei Wei knew what she was thinking and advised her again, "Our two families live right across the street, are you afraid you haven't had a chance to get to know her yet?"

"Wouldn't it be better if next time we come, it was just the two of us talking?"

Madam Meng's eyes lit up, and she nodded repeatedly: "You're right."

"Then we'll leave in a bit!"

Wei Wei hummed in agreement, then her tone shifted to one of concern: "If you leave suddenly, it's bound to arouse suspicion."

“If they find out we’re scared, we’ll really lose face. Does Second Aunt want to lose face like that?”

Madam Meng was naturally unwilling, but what other choice did she have?

"There is a way, but it's a bit frustrating. Can Second Aunt accept it?"

Madam Meng's brow twitched, her face filled with doubt and unease: "What do you intend to do?"

Wei Wei glanced at the woman who was still panting, her tone unchanged: "Second Aunt, you'll have to work hard. When she rushes over, just lie down on the ground. But be careful not to hurt yourself."

Before Madam Meng could react to her words, Wei Wei sneered and spoke into the other end of the line: "Madam Wei, I'd like to ask you, you don't come from a high social class, do you?"

"Otherwise, not only will he drive his mother-in-law away, but he will also shamelessly stare at people. Did he really not learn any manners when he was a child?"

Shao Yu stood up abruptly from his seat.

She screamed, "You're asking for it!"

At that moment, all she wanted to do was teach the "lowly person" who had insulted her a lesson, and she rushed over without stopping.

Wei Wei's lips curled slightly. She wondered where this person had come from, given how irrational he was.

The Wei family was too careless, which is why they were defeated by such a person.

Without delay, she skillfully took a step back and hid behind Madam Meng.

Her voice held a faint smile: "Second Aunt, we're counting on you."

Having said that, he pushed the body in front of him forward.

Madam Meng was forced to go forward, but dared not utter a word of complaint.

When Shaoyu rushed over, she couldn't help but cry out, "Mother!" and fell to the ground in a disheveled state. Then, with her eyes closed, she screamed, "Help! Someone's trying to kill me!"

The maids rushed forward to separate the two sides.

Madam Meng hurriedly got up and tried to hide to the side.

Things were in complete chaos for a while.

It was only with great difficulty that they managed to stop the crazed Shaoyu, their mouths practically dry from trying to persuade him.

It's infuriating that a junior like him is so arrogant.

The lady who had just tried to smooth things over for her was the first to make a move.

"You want to kill someone just because you disagree with them?"

She sneered, "If you didn't know better, you'd think you'd stumbled into some insane asylum!"

Someone chimed in from behind, "Forget it, forget it, even if we're afraid of her."

Shaoyu, a woman with lofty ambitions, has completely lost her guard.

She was breathing heavily, and her eyes were full of malice as she looked at everyone.

"Just wait, none of you will have a good end!"

Wei Wei looked at her and wondered if she would say something earth-shattering if she were pushed any further.

That would be interesting.

But the footsteps outside made her sigh with regret.

Jiang Changhe is back.
