Chapter 48 Meng Zhixuan, Unrecognizable

It's no wonder Wei Wei always made fun of her; she genuinely felt that Madam Meng didn't have much affection for Master Meng.

However, Madam Meng did not give her the impression of being a peaceful person.

She was trembling with rage at Chun Mama's words, her voice filled with venom: "My son was recuperating peacefully in the Quiet Courtyard, why did you move him here?"

"Do you think I don't know what that damned woman Wei is up to?"

Standing behind the crowd, Wei Wei asked in confusion, "Mother, what idea does your daughter-in-law have that would make you so agitated and disregard your health to come and cause trouble?"

Startled by her voice, Madam Meng immediately turned and glared at her.

"You've come back just in time. I'm taking my son away now. Tell them to make way immediately!"

Wei Wei smiled slightly and approached step by step: "Mother, have you been sleeping for too long and your mind is muddled? Zhixuan is your son but also my husband. He is sick. If he doesn't stay here for me to take care of, where are we going to move him?"

“I know you are his mother, but he has grown up and gotten married. He can’t be like before.”

Her words made a lot of sense, but they still infuriated Madam Meng to the point of rage.

What happened before?

She just couldn't trust her son to be in the hands of this foolish woman!

Who knows what kind of mess they'll make of him?

But Madam Wei was completely unyielding, and trying to reason with her was futile.

She was already struggling to get here, so how could she possibly have the energy to argue with her?

Unable to win the argument, she had no choice but to resort to force.

Supported by her maid, she said angrily, "Go to the room and take the young master away! Let's see who dares to stop us!"

Wei Wei slowly spoke up from behind: "Let's see who dares to make a move. Listen up, everyone from Tingfengxuan, if anyone dares to enter the house and take Zhixuan away, beat them up! I'll take responsibility for the consequences."

She looked at Madam Meng with a half-smile: "Father has already agreed that Zhixuan can recuperate here with me. Mother's health is not good, so there's no need to cause her any more trouble."

Madam Meng was so angry that her mouth twisted into a crooked shape: "Wei, I didn't realize you would dare to openly defy my orders!"

"You're not in charge of the Meng family right now, so stay put in the courtyard, or you'll regret it!"

She gritted her teeth angrily and continued, "I must take Zhixuan away today, and no one can stop me!"

After saying that, he urged again: "Hurry up and go, or you won't be able to work for the Meng family anymore!"

That's such a statement; anyone who didn't know better would think they were stealing something shady.

Wei Wei smiled, not in a hurry, but instead sat down on the embroidered stool that Xiao Yue'er had brought, as if watching a play.

Neither side was willing to give in, and both were afraid of being scolded by their masters.

In an instant, the entire Tingfeng Pavilion was thrown into chaos once again.

However, Madam Meng's entourage consisted mostly of old women, who were much stronger.

They actually managed to rush into the house.

It was accompanied by an exaggerated voice: "Young Master, we've come to save you! We've come to save you!"

Madam Meng was very pleased to hear this, but when she turned her head and saw Wei Wei still sitting there calmly, she immediately became angry again.

Fortunately, her son had already been carried out by then.

Looking at the person who had lost even more weight than herself, she felt so heartbroken that she almost burst into tears.

"Let's go!" she said urgently.

The old woman carrying Meng Zhixuan looked excited and rushed quickly out of the courtyard.

Wei Wei finally stood up at this moment, and said with a smile, "Mother, you want to take my husband away, but you haven't asked me for my consent yet."

After saying this, she looked at Granny Chun. Granny Chun immediately understood what she meant, and after a moment of hesitation, she disregarded everything else and stepped in front of them.

"The young master has been well taken care of by the young mistress these past few days, so you don't need to worry about him."

Madam Meng asked warily, "Is this Madam Wei's idea, or the Old Madam's idea?"

Granny Chun's cowardly manner is about to resurface.

She glanced cautiously at Wei Wei, then quickly said loudly, "Does Madam need to ask any further questions?"

Madam Meng had indeed misunderstood. She nodded angrily, her voice cracking with rage: "Fine, fine, so that old geezer is determined to go against me, isn't he?"

"I'm going to tear that old woman's bones apart!"

He then said he was about to cause trouble for the old lady.

The old lady is currently unconscious, and even if you dump a pot on her head, she wouldn't know what's happening.

But Granny Chun was still a little guilty and couldn't really let her leave smoothly.

She tried to raise her voice: "Madam can go to see the old madam, but the eldest young master cannot leave this courtyard!"

After saying that, he decided to go all the way and called for someone to take the young master back to his room!

This was no joke. When everyone heard that the old lady had agreed, they were eager to do everything in their power to stop her.

Everyone used all their strength, and they were a bit too rough with their blows.

Someone pushed the old woman carrying the person from behind, and she lost her footing and fell heavily to the ground.

Meng Zhixuan flew out from behind her and crashed face down to the ground.

A muffled thud.

Wei Wei's teeth ached from listening to this.

She suppressed her surprise and went over to take a look, then reached out and turned the still unconscious man over.

Meng Zhixuan was covered in blood, and it looked like half of his teeth had been knocked out. He looked absolutely horrible.

"What a tragedy!" She shook her head, but couldn't suppress the smile on her lips.

When Madam Meng, who was being helped over, saw her son's miserable state, she immediately screamed and her legs went weak as she clung to the person next to her.

"My son! My son!" she cried out in anguish, her pitiful expression evoking pity in all who beheld her.

However, Wei Wei was truly hard-hearted; the more she listened, the more excited she became.

There is no melody in the world more beautiful than the screams of one's enemy.

Having heard enough, she angrily raised her head and glared at Madam Meng, her tone becoming rapid and urgent: "What exactly does Mother want to do? Don't you know that Zhixuan is currently weak and cannot be subjected to such drastic measures?"

"I've said so many nice things to you, but you still insisted on doing things your own way. Now look what happened, are you satisfied with this result!"

The barrage of questions left Madam Meng speechless. Already on the verge of fainting, she was further tormented by these heart-wrenching words, a pain she would never forget.

Wei Wei had no intention of letting her go so easily; after all, she had come here to suffer.
