Chapter 83 Fear

"Don't speak after you go out, so as not to attract the attention of those people."

"While things are chaotic outside, I'll take you away!"

His voice lowered, and after hastily untying the ropes binding her feet, he pulled her and ran towards the door.

Once outside, it became clear that this was actually a hole carved out of the rocks!

However, the interior had been repaired to be very smooth, and even windows had been cut out, which made her think she was in a room.

They came out, and the sounds of fighting became much louder.

The surroundings were chaotic. There weren't many people on either side, but they were all highly skilled experts.

The fight was so intense that the two of them actually managed to walk quite far under the cover of night without being discovered.

On the way forward, Wei Wei was conflicted, wondering whether she should really leave this place or be taken to the place where Wei Xin was imprisoned.

The sounds behind me were already quite far away.

When she turned around and looked quickly, there was no one left in sight.

What would happen if she suddenly shouted?

She pondered for a moment, looking thoughtfully at Meng Zhixuan who was leading the way.

His behavior suggested he was impatient, as if he were even more afraid than she was.

What is he afraid of?

With a flicker of her eyes, Wei Wei slowly stopped after turning a corner and confirming that it was safe.

Meng Zhixuan pulled twice but couldn't budge it, so he turned to look at her in confusion.

"My hand hurts," she explained, frowning as she looked at his hand, which was now just bones.

Meng Zhixuan's expression turned sour, whether from hearing her words or from not being able to persuade her.

He opened his mouth as if to reprimand someone, but swallowed the words back down.

Whether out of fear of the perilous surroundings or out of pity for Wei Wei, he said nothing more, but with a grim face, he actually untied the ropes for her.

"Is it okay now?"

He asked in a low voice, gritting his teeth.

Wei Wei sighed with satisfaction; her hands were finally free.

Seeing her calm and unhurried demeanor, Meng Zhixuan was furious and shoved her from behind without any politeness: "Hurry up and leave, or you'll really lose your life here!"

The more impatient he became, the more steadfast Wei Wei stood.

The moonlight was not very bright, and it didn't illuminate people's expressions very clearly.

Wei Wei, hiding under the leaves, asked, "Where is my younger brother, Wei Xin?"

This was her ultimate purpose in coming to Qingfeng Mountain, but only now has she had the chance to ask it.

Meng Zhixuan ground his back teeth: "He's fine."

Wei Wei didn't believe him at all: "Then where is he now?"

Meng Zhixuan became irritable again: "We're about to lose our lives, and you still have the leisure to care about other people's affairs?"

"Is that someone else? That's my own brother!"

Her voice grew colder and colder: "He's just a child, and he hasn't done anything heinous. Why were you dragged here for no reason?"

Meng Zhixuan was also very agitated. He denied it, saying, "It wasn't me!"

Then he spoke again menacingly: "Are you coming with me or not? Do you really want to be killed?"

Wei Wei shook her head, her voice helpless: "Zhi Xuan, it's not that I don't want to go with you, but my purpose in coming here is to see my younger brother."

"If I just leave like this, I won't be able to explain it to my mother even if I go home."

Seeing that she wouldn't leave until she got a result, Meng Zhixuan finally took a deep breath, looking like he wanted to devour her, but his tone slowed down.

"He is in a very safe place. We will see him when we are safe."

"You'd better listen to me, or I won't be able to save you."

Wei Wei tilted her head to look at him.

His eyes were full of mockery: "Then can you tell me why you tied him up?"

Meng Zhixuan stepped forward, his expression finally turning ferocious. He said viciously, "I've already said it wasn't me! Why are you still fixated on this?"

Is it more important than our lives?

His aggressive questioning didn't frighten Wei Wei. She simply looked him straight in the eye and asked, word by word, "If it's not you, then who is it? From beginning to end, the only person who has appeared in front of me is you."

Her eyes were filled with naked suspicion and questions, making her appear very sincere: "Zhixuan, what are you still hiding at this point?"

I stopped pretending to be scared and flustered because I felt it was unnecessary.

She could tell that Meng Zhixuan's already poor health had become even weaker after all this ordeal.

The tug-of-war just now revealed his true colors.

His chest was heaving, not from the breath, but from the difficulty of breathing.

He was very tired and wanted to rest.

If it weren't for the fact that the location is wrong, it might have collapsed already.

Wei Wei's face showed concern, but her tone carried a hint of a smile: "Zhixuan, why aren't you saying anything? Are you feeling unwell?"

"If you tell me where your brother is, I'll carry you down the mountain, okay?"

Meng Zhixuan, who was panting heavily, suddenly noticed the teasing in Wei Wei's tone.

In that atmosphere, he no longer felt that she was just good-tempered.

All that remained was an overwhelming chill that crept up from the soles of my feet.

It made him shiver.

It also made him realize, belatedly, that the wife he had looked down upon was not as simple as he had imagined!

This realization filled him with apprehension, especially when he saw the rope she was holding tightly swaying back and forth, as if it were trying to lift his heart up with it.

Although he was a man, a weak man with a missing hand had little chance of winning against a healthy woman.

He began to panic.

At that moment, Wei Wei took another step towards him.

"Zhixuan, why aren't you saying anything?"

"Are you out of energy?"

This is a wolf's feigned concern for its prey!

Meng Zhixuan took a step back.

"The Wei family," he asked with difficulty and trembling, "what do you want to do?"

Wei Wei honestly told him, "I only want my brother. Hand him over."

"Your brother...your brother is being held in another place!"

His tone quickened, but he couldn't hide the panic in his voice: "I'm telling you, go find it!"

“No, you have to come along,” Wei Wei said. “This mountain is so big, I’m a little scared as a weak woman.”

Meng Zhixuan was so angry that he took another deep breath and almost fell over as he turned around.

Wei Wei reached out and steadied him, her voice gentle: "Zhi Xuan, you must be careful."

Her fingers traced his still-intact hand inch by inch, raising the hairs on his skin: "Don't die before you reach your destination."

Such a blatant threat!

Meng Zhixuan felt dizzy in waves.
