Chapter 14: The pillow on the road of bones and the moment of the immortal's death

The pillow on the road of bones and the moment of the immortal's social death

"Run! Follow Xuanjia!" Jiang Xuelan shouted, rushing into the secret passage covered in cobwebs and emitting a stale, musty smell. Wrapped in a tattered black robe, every step tugged at his skin, burned by the lava, causing a fiery sting, yet he didn't even frown.

Behind him, Man Gu carried the unconscious Li Jiuyou on his back. His massive frame seemed particularly clumsy in the narrow passage, and he took every step carefully, fearing that the jolt would knock his seriously injured master off his back. Li Jiuyou's unconscious head moved inchingly as Man Gu ran, his pale face rubbing against Man Gu's rough leather armor, leaving several comical red marks.

"Wang... please bear with it a little longer! I, Old Ox, will definitely carry you to the Tomb of Ten Thousand Demons!" While running, Man Gu took out his small notebook and quickly recorded: "Wang's face is rubbed red, suspected to be allergic to leather armor? Suggestion: Give Wang a piece of silk pad next time? But there is no silk at the moment... Use the Immortal Lord's tattered robe? The feasibility needs to be evaluated." He glanced at the tattered corner of Jiang Xuelan's clothes.

Ah Che held the half broom handle tightly in his hand. He was so nervous that his hands and feet were shaking. His eyes were as big as copper bells. He scanned every corner of the dark passage vigilantly, muttering to himself: "Demons and ghosts, please leave... With the broom in my hand, the world is mine..." He always felt that something terrible would jump out of the darkness at any time.

Xuanjia led the way, its shell emitting a faint, earthy-yellow glow in the gloom, barely illuminating the few feet ahead. "Hurry up! Are you dawdling around waiting to be skewered like candied haws? That Scarlet Flame Demonic Flood Dragon loves grilled beef skewers!" It turned back to urge, its green eyes gleaming in the darkness.

The passage wasn't long, and soon a faint light appeared ahead. Rushing out of the passage, a chilling wind carrying a strong stench of decay and sulfur blew in his face, choking Ah Che and causing him to cough.

The scene before them made everyone gasp.

A "road," paved with countless massive, pale animal bones, twisted and turned into the distance, a gray, deadly fog. The bones varied in shape, some as thick as giant trees, others as sharp as spears. They were densely packed and crisscrossed, making a teeth-grinding crunching sound when stepped on. On either side of the road lay a bottomless abyss of darkness, illuminated only by the occasional, phosphorescent breeze that drifted up from below, emitting the wailing sound of ghosts. The sky was leaden gray, oppressive and suffocating.

This is the forbidden area of the demon realm - the entrance to the Tomb of Ten Thousand Demons, the Road of Dry Bones.

"Wow, this welcome ceremony is quite unique." Xuanjia smacked his lips and took the lead on the path of bones. His claws made a soft "crunch" sound as they stepped on the bones. "Hold on tight, everyone. If you fall, you will really become one of them in the tomb. I won't be able to rescue you."

"This... Can I walk like this?" A Che looked at the empty eye sockets and sharp bone spurs under his feet. His calves trembled and he gripped the broom handle in his hand tighter, as if it was his last straw.

"What are you afraid of? It's just bones!" Man Gu bravely stepped onto the Bone Road, carrying Li Jiuyou on his back. The bones under his feet were indeed unstable, and his huge body swayed. Frightened, he quickly steadied himself, "Immortal Lord, you...you go ahead?"

Jiang Xuelan said nothing, taking the lead as he stepped onto the path of bones. His steps were steady, but each step strained the burns on his body, and his face paled slightly. He vigilantly surveyed his surroundings. The silence was eerie, the only sound being the wind and the crunch of bones beneath their feet, which only added to the eerie feeling. He could clearly sense that the restlessness of the demon core within the unconscious Li Jiuyou behind him seemed to have subsided somewhat, but it still beat faintly like a restless heart.

The team trudged forward in the dead silence. The Bone Road twisted and turned, seemingly endless. The chill of death permeated every corner. Che's teeth chattered with cold, and Man Gu could sense that the King on his back had a frighteningly low body temperature.

"Senior Xuan...Xuanjia, how far is it?" Ache's voice was filled with tears. He always felt that those bones were staring at him.

"What's the rush? Is the Ten Thousand Demons Tomb so easy to enter? We've only just begun!" Xuan Jia was calm and composed. "Save your energy, there's more fun to come."

At that moment, Li Jiuyou, sprawled on Man Gu's back, unconsciously let out a faint groan, seemingly due to the extreme cold and turbulence. The temporarily dormant demon core within him, sensing the dense deathly aura and yin energy outside, instinctively felt a repulsion and stirred slightly. This faint agitation, like a fine needle, penetrated the connection of the Heart-Slaying Contract and gently pricked Jiang Xuelan.

"Hiss..." Jiang Xuelan paused, frowning. That damn connection feeling again! He subconsciously glanced back at Li Jiuyou.

At this glance, he happened to see Li Jiuyou on Mangu's back. Because of the bumps and discomfort, his head unconsciously and accurately rubbed the collar of Mangu's leather armor, and then... ** His entire pale handsome face was buried in Mangu's sweaty chest covered with thick chest hair! **

The picture is very impactful!

Man Gu was unaware of anything and was still trying to maintain his balance.

The unconscious Li Jiuyou seemed to find the touch of this "furry pillow" quite pleasant. His brows relaxed a little, and he even rubbed it unconsciously, finding a more comfortable position, burying the tip of his nose in the thick hair...

Jiang Xuelan: "..."

An indescribable feeling of disgust and absurdity instantly washed over him! He turned his head sharply, his stomach churning! **Stupid monster! Where's your taste?!**

"Huh? Your Majesty seems to be feeling better?" Man Gu felt Li Jiuyou stop moving and grinned innocently. Looking down at Li Jiuyou's face buried in his chest hair, he was so moved that tears welled up in his eyes. "Your Majesty! You really still find me, Old Niu, the most reliable and warmest!" He pulled out his little notebook and excitedly wrote down: "Major discovery! Your Majesty's hidden preference: thick chest hair! Feeling: Warm and reliable! Suggestion: Consider adding blankets to the bedding in the future? Or perhaps recruit guards with lush chest hair?"

"Poof!" Ache accidentally saw it and almost laughed out loud. He quickly covered his mouth and his shoulders shook.

Xuanjia rolled his eyes and said, "Stupid cow, that's cold! Hurry up and leave! If you dawdle any longer, the pursuers will catch up!"

Jiang Xuelan forced himself to ignore the eye-catching scene behind him and quickened his pace. He had to concentrate! The dangers of the Ten Thousand Demon Tomb were far more than just the path beneath his feet!

Sure enough, not long after they'd walked, the fog ahead suddenly thickened, bringing a bone-chilling chill. At the end of the Bone Road, a massive archway, constructed from countless enormous skeletons, loomed. Beyond the archway, the fog swirled, obscuring the view within. It exuded a terrifying pressure.

"We're here! The entrance to the Tomb of Ten Thousand Demons, the White Bone Gate!" Xuanjia stopped and glanced around the archway vigilantly with his green eyes.

In front of the archway, on either side of the Bone Road, two rows of eerie guards, composed of grayish-white, withered bones, silently emerged from the abyss. They wielded rusty bone knives and spears, their hollow eye sockets pulsing with faint blue soul fire. They gazed in unison at the uninvited guests, a chilling, murderous aura permeating the air.
