Chapter 5 Something is wrong with this enemy 3
On the other side of the water mirror, the uncertainty on Li Jiuyou's face was instantly replaced by an indescribable mixture of shock, disgust, absurdity, and a tingling terror he himself didn't understand. He felt as if struck by a bolt of divine thunder from the sky. His bloodshot eyes widened as he stared at the innocent-looking fool holding the torn book in the water mirror's arms. Then, he slowly shifted his gaze to the cold Immortal Lord on the ground. His Adam's apple rolled up and down, as if he wanted to say something, but no words came out.
Jiang Xuelan: "..."
He clearly felt the last bit of color on his face fade away completely in an instant. The heat that he had suppressed with great difficulty at the base of his ears suddenly erupted like a volcano, sweeping across his entire face and burning all the way to the base of his neck!
Double...cultivation? !
And Li Jiuyou? !
The demon king who had killed his entire clan (though that was a little questionable now) and whose only thought was to skin him alive and make soup out of him?!
Jiang Xuelan's vision went dark. In his sea of consciousness, only the two ferocious characters on the yellowed pages of the ancient book remained, spinning, magnifying, and roaring wildly—Dual Cultivation! Dual Cultivation! Dual Cultivation!
His throat felt sweet and a fishy smell suddenly surged up.
"puff--!"
The blood that had been suppressed for a long time finally burst out, and it sprayed directly onto the smooth jade tile floor in front of him. The spots of scarlet were glaring and shocking.
These two big words were the only ones left in Jiang Xuelan's mind.
He, the light of the immortal world, the benchmark of morality, the aloof and cold Immortal Lord Jiang Xuelan, had painstakingly cultivated an image and reputation for three hundred years... but with Ah Che's earth-shattering words of "dual cultivation," it completely, utterly, and irrevocably... collapsed!
The Immortal Venerable's face turned from pale to blue, then from blue to black, and finally settled into a sullen, stormy blue. He swung his sleeves violently and roared, his voice nearly lifting the roof of the hall: "You bastard! You're talking nonsense! Catch him!"
Several law enforcement disciples woke up as if from a dream, with expressions of "What the hell is this?" on their faces, and rushed towards A Che, who was still holding the book with a confused look on his face.
On the other side of the water mirror, Li Jiuyou finally recovered from the soul-shaking shock brought on by the word "dual cultivation." A surge of humiliation and offense shot straight to his head! It was ten times more violent than the murderous intent just now! The idea of sharing pain, the strangeness of the Heart-Slaying Contract, was all reduced to ash by this evil fire!
"Bullshit!" A furious roar shook the water mirror again. Li Jiuyou was so angry that demonic energy was running rampant, and his black hair was dancing wildly without wind. He looked like a ferocious beast with its fur standing on end after its tail was stepped on. "Who the hell wants to practice dual cultivation with this pretty boy?! I'm going to chop him into pieces and feed him to the dogs! Feed him to the dogs!!"
He was so angry that he completely lost his mind and raised his hand to hit again!
In this chaotic moment of chaos, people and horses were thrown to the ground.
"whee……"
An extremely light, charming and malicious female chuckle, like an icy poisonous snake, suddenly penetrated into the depths of Jiang Xuelan and Li Jiuyou's sea of consciousness.
It's Xingtong! That charming intelligence officer!
The next second, two completely different but equally impactful illusions were brutally stuffed into the two people's consciousness like a brand!
Jiang Xuelan's eyes suddenly blurred.
He saw a hazy fairy pond, radiating a cool moonlight. Within the water, Fairy Baizhi's clothing was half-undressed, revealing her round, white shoulders and graceful collarbone. A blush of shyness never before lingered on her face as she nestled tightly in the arms of a tall, upright man in a snow-white Taoist robe. The man tilted his head slightly, revealing his perfectly chiseled jawline... and it was him, Jiang Xuelan! Baizhi's lips were darting ever closer to his earlobe, their gestures utterly intimate and alluring!
"Junior Brother Lan..." In the illusion, "Bai Zhi"'s voice was so gentle that water could drip out.
"boom--!"
An indescribable rage, as if something he owned had been violated, suddenly erupted in Li Jiuyou's chest without warning! It was a hundred times more intense than the humiliation he'd felt earlier at the word "dual cultivation"! That image burned like a red-hot iron, searing his nerves.
"Jiang! Xue! Lan!" Li Jiuyou's eyes instantly turned blood red, and his demonic energy surged uncontrollably, rumbling the entire dome of the Red Blood Palace! He stared intently at the shadowy figure in the water mirror "embracing" Bai Zhi, his rationality completely breaking. "You dare to touch her?! I'll kill you!!!"
At the same time, another illusion was forcibly stuffed into Li Jiuyou's sea of consciousness.
In the Demon Realm, next to the dark wooden throne in the Red Blood Hall that he had kicked over, a figure dressed in a dark royal robe (obviously himself) was domineeringly pressing another thin figure in a snow-white Taoist robe (obviously Jiang Xuelan) against the armrest of the throne! Their bodies were pressed tightly together, their noses almost touching. The "Li Jiuyou" in the illusion had one hand firmly grasping the back of "Jiang Xuelan's" neck, forcing him to look up, while his other hand was caressing the other's bloody shoulder wound in an extremely ambiguous manner, his movements full of possessive aggression. And the "Jiang Xuelan" in the illusion had a light blush on his cold face, his eyes were blurred, and his lips were slightly parted, as if silently inviting...
"Ugh..." Jiang Xuelan shuddered, as if being drenched from head to toe by the hottest lava! An intense, unfamiliar, numbing heat instantly swept through his body. The blush at the base of his ears suddenly spread throughout his body, even burning his fingertips! The impact of this scene was even greater than Bai Zhi's illusion just now! Shame overwhelmed him like a tsunami!
"Xingtong! You witch!" Jiang Xuelan roared inwardly, gritting his teeth.
"Wang! Calm down! That was an illusion!" In the Red Blood Hall, Man Gu, who had been guarding the corner as a background, silently writing and drawing in his small notebook, finally saw the opportunity to pounce on Li Jiuyou, who was on the verge of losing his temper. He tightly hugged Li Jiuyou's thigh and shouted at the top of his lungs, while quickly adding a sentence in the notebook: "Wang was furious because of the illusion, and it seems that he was hit by his heart? Today's observation record: Jealousy value seems to be off the charts, dangerous! Extremely dangerous!"
"Get out of here!" Li Jiuyou kicked Man Gu away, his bloodshot eyes fixed on the crimson-faced, evasive Jiang Xuelan in the water mirror. The intensely aggressive posture and bewildered expression in the illusion lingered in his mind like a spell. A deeper, more chaotic evil fire, one he couldn't even comprehend, a mixture of rage, murderous intent, and a hint of...the embarrassment of having his secrets exposed, surged wildly in his chest!
Inside the Lingxiao Palace, the Immortal Venerable's roar, Baizhi's exclamation, the law enforcement disciples' scolding, Ache's struggle and defense... all the sounds seemed to be blurred as if separated by a thick layer of frosted glass.
Jiang Xuelan clutched his aching shoulder and struggled to his feet. His face was as pale as paper, blood still lingering at the corners of his mouth, while his ears and neck were red as blood. He didn't dare look at anyone, especially the demon king in the water mirror, ready to devour anyone at any moment. The aftershocks of Xingtong's illusion still coursed through his body like countless tiny electric currents.
He took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. He had to leave here, now, right now! Otherwise, he would either be tortured by the gazes of his fellow immortals, or completely overwhelmed by the furious murderous aura (and the socially destructive side effects that came with it) that Li Jiuyou would send his way.
He endured the dizziness and severe pain in his shoulder, and hastily bowed in the direction of the immortal with a sullen face. His voice was a little hoarse due to suppression: "Master, disciple... is not feeling well, so I will take my leave first." After saying that, without waiting for a response, he almost fled, staggering out of this suffocating hell.
Bai Zhi's anxious voice followed behind him: "Junior brother! Your injury..."
Jiang Xuelan turned a deaf ear to them, wanting only to escape from this vortex of despair as quickly as possible. He walked through the corridors with a shaky footstep, hoping to find a deserted place to bury himself.
Just as I turned the corner of a corridor painted with a picture of clouds and cranes, a slow, vicissitudes-filled voice, with a hint of vicissitudes and a sense of insight into the world, suddenly floated out from the shadows in the corner:
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk. Beating is love, scolding is affection, stabbing each other is worshipping heaven and earth! Young people..."
Jiang Xuelan suddenly stopped and looked towards the source of the sound in surprise.
In the shadows, an old green-haired turtle the size of a millstone, with its shell covered with mysterious runes, slowly poked its head out. Its small green eyes flashed with wisdom (or gossip) that seemed to see through everything. It was none other than the turtle demon pharmacist Xuanjia, who was known for his venomous tongue.
Xuan Jia chewed an unknown magical herb slowly and calmly, adding the last sentence:
"...Save your energy for dual cultivation, isn't it? Why bother with that?"
