Chapter 99 He hit me so hard, wife!

When Shang Yan woke up, he turned his head slightly and saw Zhou Ping sitting by the bed. The moment his eyes met Zhou Ping's lowered dark eyes, Shang Yan coughed lightly.

What brings you here?

"Can't I come?" Zhou Ping looked down at him, tightening his grip on Shang Yan's hand. "You're planning to keep this from me."

"Wife, how could I dare to hide it from you? I was just afraid you'd worry!" Shang Yan sat up in bed and buried her face in his chest, "My body hurts so much. Suddenly someone rushed out and tried to hit me. I fought with him for a long time!"

Zhou Ping held him tightly, not daring to move at all. He reached out to check where Shang Yan was injured. "Where does it hurt?"

Shang Yan's clothes were tattered and torn, and he hadn't had time to change them. Looking down, it was obvious that he didn't have any injuries.

"Who hit you?" He roughly searched Shang Yan's body, but found no wounds.

Shang Yan reached out and hugged his waist, burying herself in his arms. "He said his name is Loki, and he hurts all over. He hit me really hard."

"Look, look, there was a huge wound here before," Shang Yan said, tearing off the last bit of fabric from her dress and pointing to her fair chest.

"It's probably this big of a wound," he said, his long, slender fingers forming a heart shape as Zhou Ping looked over.

Zhou Ping:......

He bent down and hugged Shang Yan, who was pointing to his wounds, with a mix of amusement and exasperation. "Um... I'm sorry."

After being hugged, Shang Yan stopped wagging his tail after hearing his apology.

He reached out and poked Zhou Ping's back, somewhat puzzled. "Why are you apologizing to me?"

"Because I failed to protect you," Zhou Ping silently hugged the person even tighter.

He shouldn't have let Shang Yan come alone. Something always happens when Shang Yan is alone; it definitely won't happen again...

Shang Yan's tail swayed slightly, indicating that he had angered someone this time, and his brain was racing to think of the right words.

"What time is it now?" Shang Yan forced a change of topic.

“It’s three in the morning now. You’ve been unconscious since around ten o’clock last night.” She released him and cupped his face, which was now much paler than before.

"The doctor said you need to eat more. Are you hungry now? I'll go out and buy some food."

His fingertips twitched slightly as he gently rubbed Shang Yan's face.

Shang Yan narrowed his eyes. "Buy it now? All the shops outside will be closed by now."

It's only 3 a.m., and it's still drizzling outside. The shops on the roadside are definitely not open yet, and the roadside stalls probably won't be open for business. Where can Zhou Ping buy anything?

"I'm not hungry, I'm just a little tired. Shall we go out for food together tomorrow morning?" Shang Yan reached out and tugged at his clothes. "You'll probably have to buy me some clothes first. I can't even look myself in this anymore."

"Okay, I'll go find a shop outside in a little while." In his haste after receiving the news, he only took the Dragon Elephant Sword with him.

Shang Yan sat on the bed and looked at him for a long time. He must have stayed up all night, because there were still dark circles under his eyes. It was obvious that he had stayed up all night.

Noticing Shang Yan's gaze, Zhou Ping lowered his eyes and glanced at him. "Didn't you say you were sleepy? Why aren't you sleeping?"

Shang Yan stepped forward, reached out and wrapped his arms around his neck, then leaned back and pulled him toward the bed.

I want to sleep with you!

The hospital bed was too small; it couldn't fit both of them. Just the slightest movement made the metal bed creak.

Zhou Ping struggled to get up, "No, the bed is too small."

How could he possibly compete with patients for a place to sleep? Hearing the bed creaking because of Shang Yan's movements, Zhou Ping dared not move an inch, for fear of breaking the hospital bed apart.

"Don't move," he said, pressing Shang Yan down with his hand and sighing softly. "If this bed breaks, where will you sleep?"

Shang Yan indeed lay still and didn't move around, but he still didn't let go of Zhou Ping's neck.

In this awkward position, Zhou Ping silently supported himself on the edge of the bed with one hand to avoid actually pressing down on Shang Yan.

Shang Yan tightened his grip on his neck, tilted his head slightly, and kissed him. "Then you should rest for a while too."

After saying that, he let go of her hand.

"..." Zhou Ping's eyes deepened, and he reached out to take Shang Yan's hand, leaning down beside the bed. "Mm."

Shang Yan was really tired, and after hearing his reply, he closed his eyes and fell asleep shortly afterward.

When dawn broke, he had just woken up when he saw a set of clothes and a hot breakfast placed by his bedside.

“Someone just came to see you, and he brought you food.” Zhou Ping handed the bowl of soup to Shang Yan. “It’s not hot, it just cooled down.”

After saying that, he reached out and touched Shang Yan's head. "You retracted your tail last night."

However, the ear hasn't been retracted yet.

Shang Yan took the soup and gulped it down. After resting for a night, his originally pale face regained some color.

"Why are there goji berries and red dates in this?" Shang Yan couldn't help but ask after finishing the soup. "Shouldn't this be for you, my wife?"

Zhou Ping:......

I don't know where his confidence comes from.

"This soup was made by Lao Zhao and the others. They heard you needed to replenish your energy, so they put a lot of nourishing ingredients in it." He ruffled Shang Yan's soft hair and noticed that his hair color had faded and returned to its original brown.

After Shang Yan finished eating, he turned around and put the bowls and chopsticks into the box.

I turned around and saw him changing his clothes. I let out a soft breath and stood at a distance with my head down.

After quickly putting on his clothes, Shang Yan stretched and said, "I feel great right now, and I'll be discharged from the hospital soon!"

Zhou Ping then raised his head, reached out and grasped Shang Yan's wrist, patiently persuading, "Stay a few more days, and leave when there's really nothing else to do."

Knock knock knock—

There was a knock at the door, and Zhou Ping took a few steps forward to open it.

It was Hongying and the others. They had also gotten up very early and were here to see Shangyan.

The already small ward was instantly filled with people.

"Long time no see." Hongying greeted Zhou Ping, who opened the door, and then walked inside. Seeing that Shang Yan was awake, she went to the bedside.

"You're awake?" Hongying asked with concern. "How are you feeling?"

Shang Yan smiled slightly, "I feel pretty good, I've recovered."

Zhao Kongcheng came over and said, "Drink the soup that was sent this morning. I got up early to make it. The doctor said you were weak, so I specially added a lot of goji berries for you."

Shang Yan: ...

Shang Yan nodded eagerly, "Yeah, I feel so much more energetic after drinking it!"

After asking him about his concerns, Chen Muye asked somewhat seriously, "What happened to you yesterday? How did you end up in the suburbs?"
