Chapter 55 Even if I have to pick up trash, I'll still follow you, my wife!

After washing up, Shang Yan ran downstairs.

He wondered if it was just his imagination, but Zhou Ping's gaze seemed a little evasive.

"I saved some food for you." Zhou Ping placed a plate of vegetables and a bowl of rice on the table, but he didn't dare to look at Shang Yan.

"These are all my favorite foods," Shang Yan's eyes lit up, and he picked up his chopsticks to eat.

Zhou Ping sat down opposite him, secretly glanced at Shang Yan who was eating voraciously, and then said, "You got up a little late. This morning, your sister came and brought your homework over, saying that I should urge you to finish it."

"Cough cough cough..." Shang Yan coughed out before he could swallow a mouthful of rice.

Zhou Ping knew this would happen, so he poured a glass of warm water and handed it to Shang Yan.

After drinking the water, Shang Yan became listless. He ate his meal with a sigh, and Zhou Ping took the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen to wash them.

After washing the dishes, Zhou Ping came out of the kitchen, still holding Shang Yan's schoolbag in his hand. "You need to hurry up and finish writing. There are only ten days left of winter vacation."

"Can I not write it?" Shang Yan asked, looking utterly hopeless.

“No, I’ll do it with you.” Zhou Ping took his own homework. “Hmm… I still have one subject to finish.”

Shang Yan's eyes widened; he hadn't written a single subject.

In the end, Shang Yan couldn't fight city hall, so he picked up the pen and started writing.

Time flies, and before we knew it, it was time to go back to school.

This is the second semester of senior year, and a tense learning atmosphere permeates the entire class.

Zhou Ping's grades have consistently ranked first in the class, remaining consistently high.

To the delight of the homeroom teacher, Shang Yan, a child who was said to have some mental issues, made a surprise appearance on the list as soon as he arrived, soaring to second place, just one point behind Zhou Ping.

In every monthly exam, either Shang Yan or Zhou Ping would get a point more, and they would compete for first and second place.

Because of Shang Yan's special circumstances, he always went to the office in advance to complete the mock exams.

This avoided the time when the illness would typically occur in the afternoon.

"Zhou Ping, don't just sit there, shall we go out for a walk?" Shang Yan stretched, and the sunlight outside the window shone on his lazy face, giving him a golden glow.

"Okay," Zhou Ping said, putting away the book and getting up to walk outside.

The small corridor outside is a sanctuary for students to relax and chat after class, but since it's the senior year of high school, everyone is either buried in their studies in the classroom or taking a short nap, so there aren't many people in the corridor outside.

"Zhou Ping, what delicious food will Third Uncle make today?" Shang Yan inquired.

"Tomato and egg stir-fry? Lettuce and pork stir-fry?" Zhou Ping stood next to him, replying to Shang Yan's words in a casual manner.

He would answer every question Shang Yan asked.

Every word he said received a response.

"Zhou Ping, do you think you'll look down on me if I don't do well on the exam?" Shang Yan changed the subject, looking somewhat listless.

"Actually, I'm very capable. I've taken the college entrance exam before..." Shang Yan hesitated, realizing that he had also taken the exam before.

Unfortunately, 3 PM to 5 PM was the exact time of the exam, and Shang Yan felt that he was probably in big trouble.

Zhou Ping reached out and touched the tuft of hair on Shang Yan's head. He sensed Shang Yan's panic and reassured him, "I won't mind."

"No matter what, I will never dislike you," he said with utmost seriousness. "You were naive from the very beginning."

Shang Yan: ...

"Actually, I was quite smart back then, except for being a bit abstract, do you believe me?" Shang Yan felt that if he were to take an IQ test, he would definitely get a score of 250.

"I believe you," Zhou Ping said with a smile. He was afraid that Shang Yan, this little fool, would get stuck on something, so he added a few more words.

"Shangyan, you are very hardworking and very capable."

"So no matter what the outcome, your sister and I both want you... to be happy."

The little shark is already this silly; asking for more would be unreasonable.

"Really? Don't be so nice to me. If you do, I'll go pick up trash at your school." Shang Yan turned his head away. It was almost time for class, so he walked into the classroom.

Zhou Ping shook his head and chuckled, knowing that Shang Yan had taken his words to heart, and then chased after him.

How could he let Shang Yan pick up trash? He has hands and feet; he would be willing to work three jobs a day to support Shang Yan.

In short, Shang Yan will not go hungry, and picking up trash is out of the question!

That was really too emotional. 019 couldn't help but wipe away some tears. As Shangyan's godfather (in its own opinion), it naturally didn't want Shangyan to suffer any injustice.

[Shangyan, as a highly intelligent system, I can actually help you in the exam room...]

[Shut up, 019, we need to be honest!] Even if Shang Yan has become a bit dumber, he's still an honest little shark. [How can you, as a system, do this?]

"That's not fair to others!" This was the first time Shang Yan had spoken seriously to 019. "Don't mention this again. Even if I get a zero on the exam and have to pick up trash, it's still what I deserve for my hard work!"

[A person should have principles, especially a leader. Look at you, this is why you can't even be considered a human being!]

What do we need to do? Answer me loudly!

How did it suddenly ignite for no reason?

019 fell silent. Did Shang Yan think he was being humorous?

But 019 couldn't help but shout back, "Honest exams, honest life!"

"Very good, this is how you should do statistics too." Shang Yan muttered a few more words of instruction to 019 before taking his book to review.

Zhou Ping, who was taking notes, glanced at Shang Yan, his gaze lingering on his handsome features before returning to his own.

Shang Yan seems to be getting more and more handsome.

Two more months passed, and then the college entrance examination arrived.

When the bell rang on the last day of the college entrance examination, Shang Yan handed in his exam paper and walked outside.

Zhou Ping was standing at the door waiting for him.

At the bustling school gate, his height made him stand out from the crowd; at least Shang Yan spotted him immediately, even from the corner.

"Zhou Ping!" Shang Yan shouted loudly, his voice so strong that everyone around him stopped and looked at the smiling young man.

However, the parents outside were all anxious to find their own children, and their gazes lingered on Shang Yan for a few seconds before they hurriedly looked away.

After Zhou Ping responded, he realized that Shang Yan probably couldn't hear him, so he stood outside and waved to Shang Yan.

Shang Qingqian stood beside him, holding two bunches of sunflowers in her hands. One bunch was given to Zhou Ping, and the other was naturally prepared for her younger brother.

After Shang Yan squeezed through, Shang Qingqian reached out and tapped him on the head, "You were only looking at Zhou Ping, didn't you see your sister?"

"Sis...you're a bit short, I was standing far away and didn't see you..." Shang Yan quickly explained after being tapped.

That's right! The place is teeming with people, and as far as the eye can see, there are heads everywhere. You can even see the heads of the tall ones, but for the short ones like Shang Qingqian... Shang Yan can't even see her head!

Shang Qingqian was so angry at his words that she laughed. She shoved the sunflower in her hand into Shang Yan's arms and said, "Let's go home and have a meal."

"Zhou Ping, come up. Mom has prepared a table full of dishes and is waiting for you. Is your third uncle free today? My dad said he wants to treat him to a meal."

——————————————————————

I've finally finished my exams and am going to university. It's been such a tough journey.

I read a warning that high school students can't date, so they never got together. (It seems like school-themed stories can't be written about.)

At this rate, we should be able to reach an agreement soon.

Everyone saw it, right? They were brothers before, but their brotherhood turned sour. They absolutely didn't talk about it, they didn't talk about it.

Actually, Zhou Ping should be the first to understand, because he's not stupid, but because of his personality, he'll probably have to wait.

It's highly unlikely that his public persona will cross any lines, so he'll just have to keep it that way for a while.

I reckon the relationship will only progress further when we fight the mystery.

Brothers, it's not that I'm not updating, I have another book that I update 6000 words a day, and these past two days I've been trying to catch up on the word count for that other book, the readers on that other book are starving.

Those familiar with this book know that I used to update one chapter a day, and now updating two chapters is considered quite vigorous.

Don't rush, don't rush. This book will be updated twice a day, and the other book will be updated three times a day (that is, 6,000 words).
