Chapter 29 Would you believe me if I said I didn't look at it on purpose?

This was the night Zhou Ping slept most peacefully, yet most restlessly.

The soft breathing of the person next to him kept stimulating his senses. It was an hour later before he fully adjusted to having someone beside him.

Zhou Ping slowly closed his eyes and drifted into sleep, when he felt a pair of hands gently wrapping around his waist.

She didn't even hug him through his shirt; instead, she put her hands and arms inside his clothes.

In the darkness, Zhou Ping slowly opened his eyes.

His dark eyes stared unblinkingly at the arms that were wrapped around his waist. The fabric around his waist had been pushed up, revealing his fair skin underneath.

However, his fair skin was covered with crisscrossing scars, which looked grotesque and somewhat terrifying.

She reached out to pull the fabric of her shirt down, trying to cover the scars on her body and her painful past.

But Shang Yan's arm blocked it.

Zhou Ping stubbornly tried to pull it off, but still couldn't get it to go any further.

Zhou Ping:......

Just sleep like this, and when you wake up early in the morning, take Shangyan's arm away.

Having come up with a solution, Zhou Ping stopped worrying about it and simply fell asleep peacefully.

Shang Yan, who had slept with someone in his arms all night, woke up very early, since he had gone to bed early the night before.

Shang Yan woke up at five o'clock in the morning, when it was still dark outside.

His arm felt a little numb, and the sensation in his hand felt off. He moved his hand slightly and then instantly realized what was happening.

Did he fall asleep holding Zhou Ping like this yesterday?

Zhou Ping's hands were placed above his waist, loosely clutching his clothes, as if he had been struggling with something.

Shang Yan swallowed hard. He was always a good sleeper, so he shouldn't be capable of doing something like stripping someone of their clothes in the middle of the night and robbing them, right?

Besides, they're brothers. If they really did that kind of thing, what would they be as brothers?

Thinking this, Shang Yan quietly pulled his hand back and even thoughtfully tugged at Zhou Ping's clothes.

When his gaze fell on the faint scar on his waist, Shang Yan paused, then reached out again with his hand that he had just withdrawn, his warm fingertips gently touching it.

Noticing the waist beneath his fingers tremble slightly, Shang Yan immediately withdrew his hand, pretending nothing had happened.

"Host, you're acting like you have a guilty conscience," 019 couldn't help but say.

"You're right, I do feel a little guilty." Shang Yan turned around, his back to Zhou Ping, and fumbled for his phone under his pillow.

As soon as I opened the little green message, Shang Qingqian's message popped up.

Sister: Mom said you're not coming back today?

Sister: Shangyan, answer me! Mom and the others don't know what your relationship with Zhou Ping is, but how could I not know?

Sister: What are you doing right now?

Sister: Given your habit of always having your phone with you, you're definitely not pretending not to see it. You two wouldn't...?

Sister: Shangyan, you're still a virgin!

Sister: It's already one o'clock, isn't it over yet?

Sister: Who's on top...?

Sister: I'll bring you some medicine tomorrow.

In just a few dozen messages, the emotions shifted from confusion to shock, then to warnings, and finally to being forced to accept the situation.

It's easy to imagine that Shang Qingqian didn't sleep well last night.

Having slept soundly through the night and feeling refreshed, Shang Yan looked at the messages in silence.

Then he silently typed a reply.

Don't treat me like a human being: Sis, we didn't do anything. I was too tired yesterday and just fell asleep.

Don't treat me like a human: Also, we're not in that kind of relationship... we're really just good brothers.

Sister: Damn it, do I look like an idiot?

Sister: You and Zhou Ping sleep in the same bed?

Shang Yan's ahoge (a single hair sticking up) swayed slightly.

Don't treat me like a human being: Yeah, there's only one bed, otherwise where would I sleep?

elder sister:……

Sister: I'll come over at seven in the morning with your medicine.

Don't treat me like a human being: What medicine? I don't need it.

Sister: Don't be stubborn. I can tell whether you two are brothers or not, and who is on top and who is on the bottom.

Don't treat me like a human being: ...

Shang Yan felt he couldn't communicate with his sister anymore, so he pressed the power button and turned off the screen.

Shang Yan was unaware that Zhou Ping, who was behind him, had already woken up when Shang Yan reached out to touch the scar on his waist.

Zhou Ping also witnessed his argument with his sister behind his back.

Zhou Ping saw Shang Yan's rebuttal and felt that Shang Yan was contradictory.

He was clearly saved as "Baby" in his contact name, but when he was talking to his sister Shang Qingqian, he seriously said that they were real brothers.

Zhou Ping:......

Are they really brothers?

He doesn't know many people, and he doesn't have many friends besides Shang Yan, but he's just naive, not stupid.

After struggling internally for a moment, Zhou Ping quickly closed his eyes again when he realized that Shang Yan was about to turn around.

With plenty of time before dawn, Shang Yan put down his phone and thought it over again before deciding to close his eyes and sleep a little longer.

This time, he slept properly and didn't reach out to hug Zhou Ping.

After noticing the light, even breathing of the person next to him, Zhou Ping slowly opened his eyes and glanced at Shang Yan, who was sleeping beside him.

In the dim morning light, I could roughly see Shang Yan's serene profile. First, I saw his straight nose, then his tender red lips. His eyes, with their slightly drooping corners, were now closed. There were two small black moles below the corner of his left eye.

Knock knock—

Zhou Ping could clearly hear his own heartbeat.

He placed his hand on his chest and silently looked away.

It's still a while until 7 a.m., maybe I should sleep a little longer.

I went to bed late yesterday, so waking up just now was an accident.

Zhou Ping comforted himself with this thought, then closed his eyes and began to fall asleep.

Around six o'clock, Zhou Ping, who had dozed off for a while, opened his eyes. He glanced at Shang Yan, who was still sleeping beside him, and quietly got up and walked towards the wardrobe.

He needs to find some trousers to wear...

A rustling sound came from behind, and Shang Yan unconsciously uttered a soft "Hmm?"

As I groggily got out of bed, I witnessed Zhou Ping turning his back to me as he put on his pants.

Her legs are long, and her waist is... quite slender, but you can tell from her muscles that they are very firm.

Shang Yan gestured haphazardly with his hand.

"Why are you staring at me like that? You're such a jerk," 019 scolded before closing her eyes.

[...], he didn't do it on purpose, it was just a coincidence, okay?

Just as Shang Yan was about to look away, Zhou Ping suddenly turned around.

His hand was still on the button at his waist, his lips were tightly pursed as he looked at Shang Yan, but he only made eye contact with Shang Yan for a moment before turning his face away.

Although it was just a fleeting glance, Shang Yan saw the shyness in Zhou Ping's eyes and wondered... perhaps there was something else he hadn't seen clearly.

Shang Yan naturally reached out and waved to Zhou Ping, "Good morning, Zhou Ping!"

“…Hmm,” Zhou Ping responded, checked himself over, and, finding nothing amiss, prepared to turn and leave.

"It's almost seven o'clock, Shangyan," Zhou Ping reminded Shangyan before leaving, "You remember."
