Shang Yan was stunned by 019's words. [He wasn't quite used to sleeping with me before, how did you figure out he's already thinking about it now?]
019 chuckled. As a system with extremely high intelligence and emotional intelligence, it had long since exposed all of humanity's little schemes.
"I think you'd be better off sleeping on the floor," 019 advised. "Zhou Ping's gaze towards you isn't quite right."
Whether Shang Yanfa noticed or not, 019 didn't know, but 019 felt that Zhou Ping's gaze towards Shang Yanfa today was really different from before.
"In my years of experience, the way he looks at you is like he's looking at prey, although he hides it very well," 019 thought, feeling a little strange. "It wasn't like this before..."
How did it suddenly spoil?
Did he suddenly become enlightened after taking a nap?
Shang Yan lay back on his makeshift bed on the floor, looking at the ceiling with some boredom. The warm light shone on his face, casting a soft glow on his handsome features. [019, you're really making a fuss over nothing.]
[How could Zhou Ping possibly see me as prey?] They were sworn brothers, although their brotherhood may have changed a bit over time.
019 hesitated to speak to the clueless Shangyan, sometimes even feeling that Shangyan was doing it on purpose.
[Aren't you going to seduce him like this without even realizing it? Aren't you afraid...aren't you afraid he'll be heartbroken in the future?] 019 felt that Shang Yan was always seducing Zhou Ping, even though Shang Yan himself didn't seem to be aware of it at all.
As an intelligent system, it had never seen such a foolish little shark in its life, one that even had a seductive and alluring effect.
[To be honest, this side quest... I have a feeling you're going to get cornered in the end?] 019 flipped through the script 021 had sent him.
I feel there's a very high chance that the plot involving Shang Yan being cornered will happen.
Zhou Ping looks honest and obedient now, but the key is that he's self-taught; he's even learned how to fake being injured.
019 is worried about Shangyan's future.
"Are you going to say Zhou Ping ate me next?" Shang Yan said, crossing his legs and swiping his phone to play a match-3 game.
"Don't be stubborn. Listen to me, you'll sleep on the floor tonight, and you'll sleep on the floor whenever you come to Zhou Ping's house." 019 felt it was time to give its host some sincere advice. "Listen to me..."
"I'm not listening. Why are you sleeping on the floor instead of your perfectly good bed?" Shang Yan thought 019 was being long-winded.
"Don't you even know who Zhou Ping is? He's such an honest, kind, and shy person. Even if we were in bed together, what could he possibly do?" Shang Yan felt it was time to defend Zhou Ping. "Besides, although our brotherhood has encountered a slight problem lately..."
But I don't think there's anything seriously wrong.
"Sooner or later, we'll return to the purest brotherhood, once I'm better..." Shang Yan said, speaking with great conviction.
019, [...]
This little idiot can't understand official language.
"If you get... then don't blame me for not warning you, the way he looks at you isn't innocent." 019 noticed that Zhou Ping's gaze towards Shang Yan had changed at some point.
"Shangyan, are you spacing out?" The bathroom door opened, and Zhou Ping came out carrying clean clothes.
The first thing he saw when he came out was Shang Yan, who was lying on the bed with his legs swinging.
Shang Yan's legs are very well-proportioned and also... fair.
"Huh? You've finished washing the clothes?" Shang Yan sat up upon hearing this.
Zhou Ping was carrying clothes to the balcony. After hanging them up one by one, he went back inside.
As he sat on the edge of the bed, his eyes flickered as he looked at the empty space beside the bed and at Shang Yan, who was sitting on a makeshift bed on the floor next to him.
I don't know how to start the conversation.
But I don't want to be alone...
So Zhou Ping sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Shang Yan, who was sitting on the floor. He hesitated several times, wanting to say something but stopping himself, which made Shang Yan feel uneasy.
Shang Yan was sweating profusely. He shrank his neck, lowered his head, and wondered in a panic if he had done something wrong to offend Zhou Ping today.
Otherwise, why would Zhou Ping stare at him like that?
Shang Yan glanced at his phone screen. His throat tightened. Zhou Ping had been sitting there watching him for a full half hour!
It's already 10:30.
"Did I do something wrong?" Shang Yan finally broke the silence, asking somewhat uneasily like a quail.
Zhou Ping sat upright on the edge of the bed, opened his mouth but didn't ask the question he wanted to ask. Instead, he shook his head and said, "You didn't do anything wrong."
"Then why are you looking at me like that?" Shang Yan raised his head slightly. "You've been looking at me like that for half an hour!"
Is there something on my face?
"The red marks on my body have clearly disappeared a long time ago..."
Shang Yan felt uneasy. Zhou Ping just stared at him without saying a word, and he wondered if he had done something wrong.
"...You." Zhou Ping opened his mouth, but finally steeled himself, closed his eyes, and asked, "Why didn't you come up?"
His voice was very soft.
Shang Yan had been listening intently to Zhou Ping's movements, and when he heard those words, he thought there was something wrong with his ears.
"Me? Go up?" His gaze swept over Zhou Ping, then he shook his head. "That's not a good idea, I think..."
"Why? My hand doesn't hurt anymore..." After being rejected despite mustering his courage, Zhou Ping's ears turned red. He still wanted to ask... why.
“We’re brothers, so close we could share a pair of pants, but… isn’t that a bit much?” Shang Yan twisted his fingers helplessly.
That wouldn't be good. If he actually went up there, would that be appropriate?
"You were...very willing before..." Zhou Ping's lips twitched, and he slowly and softly uttered these words.
Shang Yan's pupils trembled.
"That's not right..." He couldn't remember...
Seeing Zhou Ping with his head down and an inexplicably dejected expression, Shang Yan pursed his lips and slowly got up.
"This time then." Still feeling soft-hearted, Shang Yan moved closer to Zhou Ping and sat on his lap.
"Although I don't remember doing that..." Shang Yan was genuinely puzzled; he really didn't remember doing that.
Zhou Ping:!
Zhou Ping's dark pupils suddenly widened and stared.
"Shangyan, what I actually meant was... never mind." He swallowed those words and didn't intend to explain further.
"Then you won't be sleeping on the floor today, okay?" Zhou Ping asked again, mustering his courage. Now, when he lowered his head, his chin could touch the ahoge (cowlick) on Shang Yan's head.
It looks as if Shang Yan came into his arms on her own initiative.

I've seen all the book recommendations from our readers, thank you so much!
Thank you for the positive review, thank you for the gifts from the masters, and thank you for following the updates!
To express my gratitude, I will be adding extra chapters every weekend!
There are several possible plot developments here, because in the original novel, Zhou Ping eventually transforms into a Daoist being, and there will be casualties among the members of Squad 136 in the original novel.
Shang Yan has special abilities; he can revive or at least preserve the soul of someone. I'm asking for your opinions, dear readers: would you like to save those who died and had their souls dissipate in the original story, such as Si Xiaonan and Leng Xuan...?
Note that this is the key point regarding soul digestion!
I'll ask again when I get to those lines!
This story is going to be a sweet romance. I'll try my best to write the plot, and there will be a lot of original content. I hope you all like it.
