Although Tang Baozhu already knew how to do this, she pretended not to know. When she heard that he was going to teach her, she was very happy and quickly nodded in agreement.
"Thank you, you're so kind. I'm a new educated youth who arrived this year. My name is Tang Baozhu. It's nice to meet you. I don't know your name yet."
Su Rui'an is usually a very quiet person and rarely speaks to others because of his current status, he is worried about causing trouble for others.
But for some reason, he felt a special fondness for the girl in front of him. This fondness came out of nowhere, yet he couldn't bear to ignore it.
“My surname is Su, and my name is Su Rui’an. If you also want to get some, there are quite a few here. When you’re ready to go back, I’ll share some with you.”
As soon as he said it, Su Rui'an regretted it. It wasn't that he was reluctant to part with those things, but he felt that his words might have been a bit too impulsive. He wondered if the girl would think he had ulterior motives!
Tang Baozhu felt that if she wanted to get closer to him, she couldn't be too distant. She should bother him often, and after a while, the two of them would become more and more familiar with each other.
"Thank you, Brother Su. I'll help you dig; two people can do it faster. But we'll need Brother Su's help with the finishing work, as I don't have any tools and can't do it at all."
Tang Baozhu pretended to take a dagger out of her basket and then started to help him dig the soil, intending to dig more for him so that he would share some with her next time.
Then you'll have an excuse to meet again next time. When he gives you something next time, you'll have an even better excuse to see him again the time after that, even if it's just to return the favor by giving him something nice. In this way, the two of you will gradually become more and more familiar with each other.
For the rest of the time, Tang Baozhu stayed with Su Rui'an digging kudzu roots. Time passed by unnoticed, and she only came to her senses when she heard someone calling her from afar.
With a handsome guy talking to you, it's really easy to lose track of time; good looks really are alluring!
“Brother Su, the other people at the educated youth settlement have come looking for me. I can’t stay here any longer, so as not to cause you any trouble. I’ll go back now and come to see you again next time.”
Tang Baozhu pretended to be reluctant to part with him, looking very attached to him. When Su Rui'an first saw this look in her eyes, he was stunned for a moment, and his heart subconsciously skipped a beat.
After Baozhu left, he subconsciously raised his hand and touched his chest. The pounding of his heart seemed particularly loud, as if it were ringing in his ears.
This left him feeling very flustered and at a loss.
Fortunately, Su Rui'an was a man in his late twenties. Although he had never eaten pork, he had seen pigs run. He knew that he might have developed some feelings for this young girl he had just met.
But thinking about his current situation, he suppressed his little thoughts. If he weren't living in this cowshed, he would have won over this girl. It's a pity now.
I wonder who will end up with this little girl?
Just thinking about this problem makes my heart ache. I can't think about it; it makes me feel uncomfortable.
He refused to think about this issue that made him unhappy. Anyway, the girl looked quite young, so he figured she probably wouldn't be dating anyone so soon. If she really wanted to date someone, he'd deal with it when the time came.
Tang Baozhu had no idea that she was so fast and had easily won him over. She was already thinking about how to win him over next time.
He quickly ran out of the place where he was digging kudzu roots and found the educated youths who were looking for him. "I'm sorry to have worried you. I was wandering around without paying attention and got lost."
"It's alright, as long as you're okay. Just be more careful next time. There are quite a few wild beasts in these deep mountains. If you run into one, it will be troublesome."
Ye Li was worried that if any of these educated youth had grudges, and Tang Baozhu's luck attacked them indiscriminately, it would be truly terrible.
So quickly comfort her and tell her it's okay.
Others thought the same way. Even if they had opinions in their hearts, they didn't dare to say them out loud, or even think about them, for fear that if they did, God would find out and punish them.
Thinking of the lightning strikes that had occurred in the past two days, they dared not have any objections. They even quickly put on a smile when they saw Tang Baozhu looking over.
Tang Baozhu knew they were afraid of her, so she decided that next time she would just go up the mountain alone. That way she could have more fun on the mountain and maybe even run into Brother Su.
After returning to the educated youth settlement, Tang Baozhu ate separately from the others, so she kept the wild vegetables she had picked that day for herself.
I kept a little of what I ate today, and washed the rest clean. I laid it out on an oilcloth to dry before keeping it.
I glanced at the sky and felt it was still early, so I quickly took out the vines I had cut a couple of days ago and took one of their vine baskets to weave a new one for them to take back.
I remember there was a little world where I paid money specifically to learn how to weave rattan baskets, so I had no problem weaving anything.
I took a pair of gloves out of my duffel bag. My hands are too soft right now, and if I don't wear gloves, I'm sure I'll hurt them when I'm weaving the wicker basket later.
At first I was a little rusty, after all, it had been a long time since I had done this, but after a while I got faster and faster, and I finished weaving a basket in less than half an hour.
"Sister Ye Li, here's the bamboo basket back to you. I've put it in the storeroom."
Ye Li was surprised that Tang Baozhu had finished weaving the basket so quickly. She didn't seem like the type to take advantage of others, which made Ye Li feel quite pleased. However, she still said that it was just a basket and it didn't matter.
Tang Baozhu knew, of course, that she was just saying it casually, so she simply pretended she hadn't said anything.
"This isn't difficult; it'll be woven quickly. Besides, if you borrow and return it, it's easy to borrow again!"
Looking at the remaining rattan, Tang Baozhu planned to weave a few baskets for washing vegetables, and also a few baskets for carrying on her back. She felt that once she finished weaving them, she would have just enough rattan for her needs.
"Baozhu, you're so amazing! You finished weaving a basket so quickly. Did you know how to weave before?"
Those who saw her thought she was quite amazing. She had just arrived in the countryside and already knew how to make these things. When they first arrived in the countryside, they didn't know anything and had nothing. It was a tough time back then, but things gradually got better.
