Another World: Taking the Male Supporting Character to Farm (27)

During the cold season, Han led the Snow Wolf Clan back to their original settlement, which was this valley. Later, they gradually accepted some clansmen who came to join them. Especially after learning that the Huaxia Clan had started "purging the wasteland" again, they discussed it and accepted some of them.

Those were all elders in the tribe. Although some of them could not hunt, they were all experts in other fields. Some were good at raising livestock, some were good at making bows and arrows, and some were good at pottery and building houses.

These are all the seeds left behind by the Han Chinese.

Among them were even some weak and underage cubs, which made Han and the old witch doctor feel that something was wrong.

Unfortunately, the local authorities later realized their actions and changed the route of the expulsion.

Then, a week before the end of the cold season, suddenly, a plague struck.

Although the old witch doctor was very experienced, she was still helpless in the face of the plague. She could only use some herbs to temporarily suppress the toxicity. One of the herbs was in a very dangerous ravine, guarded by man-eating flowers. Moreover, it could only be picked and used on the same day, so she had to go down there every day to risk her life. The deeper she went, the more dangerous it became.

This time, Han has been gone for several hours again.

But even if we get it back, it will be a drop in the ocean.

Heart-wrenching cries rang out from outside the thatched hut; yet another member of the Snow Wolf Clan had died, a female who had just given birth to her cubs.

The old witch doctor closed his eyes in despair. Was this the end for the Snow Wolf Clan?

Just then, she suddenly heard the sounds of the Snow Wolf Clan on alert from afar, along with their terrified shouts.

"A giant python! A high-level giant python is coming! Run!"

With sheer willpower, the old witch doctor pushed away the tribespeople who tried to help him up, shouting, "Don't worry about me, run!"

"No, the chieftain ordered us to protect you, Master Shaman!" The clansmen insisted on carrying the old shaman and running outside.

The old witch doctor, feeling dizzy and disoriented, was led into the forest by his tribesmen, where he could only see out through the shadows of the trees.

Strangely, the giant python simply stopped outside the tribe and did not attack them. Those who were about to attack her and some of the tribesmen who were slow to flee also stopped in surprise.

A petite figure jumped down from the top of the giant python's head.

She was a young female of the Silver Serpent Clan who had just come of age. She had a pair of bright green cat eyes and a petite and cute appearance, like a cat. Her temperament was calm beyond her years.

She was immediately surrounded by the Snow Wolf Clan's guard, a dozen giant wolves over ten meters tall, all with swords drawn.

"I warn you not to take another step forward, or I'll kill you!" Like most of his clansmen, Rui had never seen Xia Yixin before.

He transformed into a beast, his gaping maw filled with sharp teeth, ready to attack and bite her to death at any moment.

He let out a series of low growls.

He thought she would be scared, but she was surprisingly calm and seemed to be looking for someone.

Xia Yixin looked around but didn't see Han or the old witch doctor. She only met pairs of eyes full of wariness or fear.

"What exactly do you want?" Rui was already getting impatient.

Xia Yixin met Shang Rui's gaze. "I mean no harm. I come from the Ying Clan. I am your ally and also Han's friend. My name is Xia Yixin. I received a message from your clan leader that the Snow Wolf Clan is facing a plague, so I came here. I just want to help." This was the most appropriate explanation for her.

As she spoke, she pretended to take it out of her pocket, but actually took out the wolf fang necklace that Han had given her earlier from her storage ring.

"This is a token he gave me. Now can you trust me? I can help you."

When the wolf fang necklace was taken out, Rui gasped, and the other Snow Wolf Clan members were also full of surprise. They all recognized the wolf fang necklace; it was left to him by the former clan leader, Han's father. How could it be in her hands?!

Moreover, many members of the tribe knew about the Snow Wolf Clan's alliance with the Ying Clan, so half of them believed it.

A kind-hearted member of the tribe said, "Little female, you are not yet sexually mature. What help can you be? Hurry up and leave. The old witch doctor is already sick. Don't let us infect you."

Xia Yixin didn't back down but instead moved closer, saying, "I promised Han, and I will definitely save you. I am a witch doctor."

Rui was still a little skeptical. "So what if you're a witch doctor? Do you even know what illness we have? You dare to make such a boast. You should leave now. We don't need you."

“Of course I know what it is. It’s a plague. I think a more fitting name would be smallpox. People infected at first don’t show any signs of illness. Later, they develop rashes that are very itchy, like the red spots on your bodies. Eventually, they get a fever, become dehydrated, and die.” She paused, looking at the various expressions on the faces of the Snow Wolf Clan members. “If you still don’t believe me, I can promise you that I will cure one patient first. If I succeed, you will trust me. If I fail, you can do whatever you want with me.”

The Snow Wolf Clan members, including Rui, stared at her in shock. They were all somewhat shaken. Could she really cure the plague?

Just then, an old voice suddenly rang out from the tribe, "Xia?"

He was an old witch doctor.

The old witch doctor, who had been seriously ill and dizzy, finally saw clearly who the person was. It turned out to be the young witch doctor she had met in the Ying tribe. After shouting with all her might, she had her tribesmen carry her back.

"Old witch doctor, we meet again." Xia Yixin finally saw a familiar face and smiled.

“I believe in her. She is the shaman of our ally, the Ying tribe. I will be the first test subject.”

Rui tried to stop him, but the old witch doctor was adamant, and the people in the tribe gradually lowered their guard.

The old witch doctor had his tribesmen carry her back to their original thatched hut. Rui was still worried, his wolf-like eyes fixed on Xia Yixin as she walked in.

When Xia Yixin first met the old witch doctor, she felt a sense of familiarity with her. Her hair was gray and her face was full of wrinkles. She was the oldest beastman she had ever seen. She was dressed very cleanly and had clear eyes. Xia Yixin felt as if she were seeing an old matriarch from a previous world.

"I need to take your pulse first. If it's convenient, could you give me your wrist?" Xia Yixin knelt in front of the straw mat, gesturing for her to spread her arm.

The old witch doctor did as he was told and said, "Thank you."

Rui scoffed. He had never seen a witch doctor take a pulse before, and he didn't understand what the term meant. He saw the little female place her finger on the old witch doctor's pulse and then take out a pill that smelled of herbs from her pocket.

Considering that the water source here might still be a source of infection, she asked the tall, menacing snow wolves behind her, "Can you boil water here?"

Rui wanted to retort, but when he met her calm and collected green eyes, it was as if his flame had been extinguished.

He muttered, "Females are such a hassle!" before transforming back into human form to boil water.

Hot water was brought over shortly afterward, and Xia Yixin let it cool for a while before having the old witch doctor take the pills and water.

At first, there was no reaction after eating it, but after a few minutes, miraculously, the red rash on the old witch doctor's body gradually faded away, which even the old witch doctor himself found unbelievable.

The old witch doctor looked at him, incredibly excited. "Child, you really are sent by the Snow Wolf God to save us! That's wonderful, wonderful!"

Rui was also incredulous.
