Apocalypse: The Zombie Queen is Super Fierce (19)

The next day.

When Xia Yixin woke up, Lu Yan had already left, and she was covered with a warm blanket.

It was just getting light outside. She first had a simple breakfast with her parents and briefly discussed the future plans for the base before organizing a short meeting.

There are currently five groups of people in the base. The first group is Team Three, which consists of their own people. The deputy captain, Hong Feng, is also a decisive and efficient person. The eight members under her are all survivors of Team Three and are absolutely loyal to Xia Yixin.

The second wave was a search team that came out from the base. It was vaguely led by Captain Wang, who was at the peak of the third-tier power mutation. There were a total of 20 teams, nearly 200 people, but only about 60 of them were real superhumans. The rest were enhanced people with good physical strength, and most of them were good at using firearms.

The third group consisted of people who were physically weak or of average build, who were family members of the search team.

The fourth group consisted of twenty-three researchers from Country A's Ark, plus Xia's parents. They were all intellectual workers, ordinary people.

The fifth group consisted of two hundred people on the Ark. Among them, Lu Yan's team of superhumans numbered fifty, and the rest were refugees from Country A, including men, women, and children.

Xia Yixin held a short meeting with the representatives from the five parties. She shared her vision for the future base with them and listened to their opinions. The following day, she convened a general meeting.

First, the voting was organized in batches to elect representatives according to proportion.

Xia Yixin was elected as the city lord of the new base with a high number of votes, while the deputy city lord was Lu Yan, the Black Panther.

Then Xia Yixin renumbered the teams from 1 to 21. Team Three remained Team Three, but Xia Yixin was no longer the captain. Instead, Ren Hongfeng was promoted to captain and took over the various tasks.

Xia's father was selected as the spokesperson for the research area, and the Ark team was also incorporated into the base's teams, with team codes 22-25. They usually follow the base's orders and act together, etc.

The remaining ordinary people and the families of the team were elected by Hong Meng, who received the most votes, and Matthew, one of the refugees from the Ark. Xia Yixin's biggest move was to bring the ordinary people brought by the Ark from Country A under her management. All of the hundreds of people were organized into 100 "laborer teams" just like the search team, with ten people in a group and one hundred people in a shift.

Depending on their chosen job categories, they are responsible for infrastructure construction, education and teaching, medical and health care, logistics support, agricultural planting, and so on.

The base has a total of 50 children and teenagers under the age of 16. Just like before the apocalypse, it has added kindergartens, primary and junior high schools, and unified discipline, management and training education, etc.

Finally, the Dawn Base established a 30-person "Supervision Team." This team was not permanent and operated autonomously, with a one-month term. During their term, they were responsible for supervision and punishment. Xia Yixin adopted all the legal precepts from before the apocalypse, using whipping, imprisonment, or the death penalty for punishment. In chaotic times, harsher measures were needed. She also added a clause: "Whether one is a superhuman or an ordinary person, regardless of race or skin color, everyone is treated equally before the law."

After the detailed rules for the new base, developed through research, were released, the new base was given a name—Dawn.

The symbolism is that it is the first ray of dawn in the darkness of the end times.

The supplies in T City were well preserved, and all the zombies had been eliminated. Occasionally, some zombies that were unable to move or were stuck were dealt with by more than 20 search teams. The life support team systematically "emptied the supplies," starting with the supermarket and then the residential area, moving all the useful supplies back to the school, burying the dead, and disinfecting to prevent other viral infections.

Three meals a day are provided by the base, and each person can also use the points they earn to redeem food, drinks, and even amusement products.

Fresh meat is temporarily unavailable, as the number of pigs on the mountain is limited. Fortunately, pigs reproduce quickly, and they are being raised in a special area within the medical university. Also, the rabbits and squirrels that were originally in the laboratory are all non-mutated. When Xia Yixin was "sweeping" the surrounding area, she also discovered that non-mutated chickens, ducks, geese, cows, and so on had all been transferred over.

The large number of chickens in the chicken farm and the dozen or so dairy cows, in particular, excited the people at the new base for a long time.

Although for now only one egg and one cup of milk are given to the weak and the child, it is still a rare and precious gift.

You should know that in other bases, even the city lord might not be able to get these things.

All points are presented in the most primitive, uniformly printed form. Although each base has its own point rolls during these five years of the apocalypse, they all use modern printing and anti-theft methods, and the numbers are only one point, ten points, fifty points, and one hundred points.

Furthermore, the Dawn Base has a highly secure points bank that offers fixed deposits and installment withdrawals, which is very convenient for base residents. It offers both computer terminals and paper-based methods.

Prices in the base are currently very low. One point can be exchanged for a bottle of ordinary canned food, and ten points can be exchanged for a can of meat. Rice, flour, and oil are also 10 points per 100 grams.

For ordinary families in the Dawn Base, they can earn 30 points a day by participating in the lowest-paying jobs, which is more than enough to make ends meet.

This completely replicated pre-apocalyptic social operation model was quickly adopted by all the base residents. Everyone had something to do, and children could study with peace of mind. Everyone in the base was full of energy, and smiles gradually appeared on their faces.

The Ark team gradually blended into the dawn.

Regarding the name "Lu Yan," after the people from the Ark officially joined the base, Lu Yan announced the name change according to the previous "old tradition." Although everyone found it strange, they quickly accepted it.
