Xia Yixin was momentarily dazed, but quickly came to her senses. Although Lu Yuan looked extremely similar to her, there seemed to be something missing in his dark eyes. They were two different people.
"Lu Yuan, I don't want our relationship to become complicated." She stepped back to the French windows and looked at him, trying to appear calm.
"I thank you for saving me, but that's just your illusion, not love. Do we even know each other? How could you possibly fall in love with someone you've only met a few times? You've just developed feelings for someone else. We're just friends at best..."
"These words, were they told to you by V? You can't tell whether it's me or you who's telling you." Lu Yuan interrupted her.
She was speechless for a moment, and when she saw him getting closer, she took another step back in fright.
Peng!
Lu Yuan pressed one hand against the glass behind her, trapping her firmly between himself and the glass. Under her wary gaze, he said, word by word, "Don't worry, I won't force you until you confirm the truth, but you're not allowed to use 'friend' to brush me off anymore."
Xia Yixin met Lu Yuan's eyes, her heart sinking slightly. He was serious. Was V's previous claim of "transference" also a lie? Or was she deceiving herself? Because denying Lu Yuan's feelings meant denying the similarities between Lu Yuan and Lu Yan, or rather, denying the reality of this world...
Her mind was in turmoil, and she didn't know where the strength came from, but she suddenly shoved the man in front of her away.
Her almond-shaped eyes were cold and indifferent. "Please leave. I'm tired."
Lu Yuan could tell from the cold glint in his eyes that had returned to their former intensity that she was angry. But he didn't regret it. If he didn't speak out, he would always remain outside the "safe zone" she had set for him. He didn't want to, and he didn't want to, especially since there was an enemy lurking in the shadows that he couldn't fathom.
Before leaving, Lu Yuan said, "I will come to pick you up tomorrow morning. After the ceremony, I will take you to the experimental system as promised."
When Xia Yixin was the only one left in the ward, she felt a chill and exhaustion without warning. Slowly, she leaned against the floor-to-ceiling glass, hugged her knees, and sat down on the floor. Her almond-shaped eyes went from confusion to determination.
In fact, Lu Yuan's actions today served as a wake-up call for her; she had been too naive.
She thought that being honest with him would be a way to appease him, but in reality, it stirred up a hornet's nest. She underestimated the man's patience.
She really should consider her future plans without V. If the truth is the worst, does she really want to continue playing the role of the leader's wife?
impossible.
She could never turn Lu Yuan into Lu Yan.
Now that V is no longer there to help her, she has to find her own way out, but luckily she still has Black Yama.
Although Hei Yan's physical mecha is at the PO Executor headquarters, she has established contact with it. Her 3S-level mental power allows her to summon it with her thoughts, which is one of the advantages. Unfortunately, she didn't have time to learn the mental power attack that Lu Yuan demonstrated before due to an accident.
Before going to sleep, she made sure to check the latest salvage news.
No news is good news.
Regarding Li Rui, Hong Feng, and Chen Zhe, she always had a strong intuition that, given their intelligence and abilities, even if V betrayed them, she wouldn't just die like that.
She just couldn't understand why V insisted on kidnapping them.
Li Rui did not die, and more than three days ago she was just as puzzled as Xia Yixin.
More than three days ago, when Xia Yixin was still trapped in the combat system and Lu Yuan had just entered the combat system through the administrator system pod, Li Rui woke up to the stimulation of a weak electric current.
She didn't rush to get up, but quickly surveyed her surroundings. She was lying on the examination bed, a basic medical device that could treat some common symptoms. The electric current she had just experienced was meant to wake her up.
It looked like a farm warehouse, but there were no haystacks or cattle and sheep. Instead, it was a laboratory filled with electrical instruments. Li Rui glanced around and found that there were many parts or the remains of experimental chambers scattered around. The air was filled with the smell of blood, as if a fierce battle had just taken place. She didn't see V. Instead, Chen Zhe was throwing out the people who had been killed.
She recognized several of them as murderers wanted by the Allied Powers.
This might be an underground equipment resale point, or even a black market, where people obtain equipment and even rare drugs through illegal means to sell and earn high kickbacks.
She looked around and found another examination bed not far away.
While Chen Zhe was distracted by moving the body, Li Rui reached for the wrench lying nearby. However, just as she picked it up, she caught a glimpse of a mecha out of the corner of her eye. She jumped off the bed, gripping the wrench tightly, and warily eyed V, ready to fight him at any moment.
However, to her surprise, V didn't look at her at all. Instead, he kept scanning the control panel, as if he was analyzing something. Apart from the eyes, the mecha's face had no facial features, but strangely, Li Rui felt that the other party was frowning.
Just as she was lost in thought, a gunshot rang out behind her.
It turned out that Hong Feng had woken up at some point and even had a laser gun.
However, just as the bullet was about to reach V, it suddenly changed direction and pierced through the metal wall with a loud bang. The next second, the gun in Hongfeng's hand was reduced to pieces on the ground.
This series of events all happened in less than three seconds!
At this moment, Chen Zhe heard a sound and came in from outside the door. He saw Hong Feng with a pale face and took a few steps forward with concern, but then stopped.
The difference in combat strength is too great.
Li Rui looked at the mecha that slowly raised its head and looked at them. Its tall figure was extremely imposing, and the black metallic paint exuded a coldness. Any part of its body could be a deadly weapon. Moreover, the core of the mecha was V, and it could control any place that the intelligent system could reach.
