At the end of February, the temperature began to rise little by little.
When they had free time, the two of them would go out to buy groceries and cook together, just like an ordinary young couple. Except for Xia Yixin becoming increasingly sleepy as her pregnancy progressed, everything was normal.
They are still living in the small apartment for now, but Xia Yixin plans to move to Lu Yan's big apartment after the baby is born.
As for Lu Yan's side...
It's unrealistic to say that something that happened more than half a year ago had absolutely no impact. Although China has sealed the secrets of RP3 and other drugs, the constraints on the Qin family and even Lu Yan's side have become stronger. For example, there are occasional tracking and attempts to retaliate.
Although these feelings have lessened slightly since Xia Yixin publicly married Lu Yan, they are not entirely absent.
Fortunately, it's a new beginning, and besides, they have a new life.
After dinner, following their usual walk, Xia Yixin leaned against Lu Yan and watched TV together before falling asleep again without realizing it.
She was awakened by a child outside shouting, "It's snowing!"
Who would have thought that just as winter was about to end, a heavy snowfall would begin?
She instinctively reached out to hug the warmth beside her, but grasped nothing. She suddenly opened her eyes; the other side of the bed still retained warmth, proving that the man had just gotten up not long ago.
She groggily got up, and faint sounds of conversation drifted in from outside the slightly ajar door.
"...I'll probably arrive the day after tomorrow. Okay, see you then."
It was Lu Yan making a phone call.
Xia Yixin pushed open the door and walked out, looking at the man standing in front of the French windows.
Suddenly, a subtle, uneasy feeling arose.
He had his back to her, bathed in the city's light and shadow, but he himself seemed to be trapped in darkness, surrounded by falling snowflakes, isolated from the world.
She couldn't help but quicken her pace and hug him tightly.
Lu Yan knew when she came out. Seeing that she was barefoot, he frowned and carried her to the sofa.
"Why are you running out barefoot again?"
"Did something happen?" Xia Yixin leaned on his shoulder and looked at him stubbornly.
Lu Yan picked her up and sat on the sofa, sighing softly, "It's nothing serious. It's just that the Qin family's business in D country has been affected a bit. I need to deal with some relationships there the day after tomorrow."
It's nothing more than some people being greedy and insatiable. They'll learn their lesson after a lesson. This isn't the first similar case he's dealt with recently. Xia Yixin felt a little relieved, but a vague unease still lingered.
Could it be due to mood swings during pregnancy?
"How about I go with you? I've never been to Germany before." She looked at him hopefully.
His pupils contracted slightly. He rubbed her head, suppressing the turmoil in his heart. "No, I can't let you take the risk. Besides, you're not alone now."
She could refute the first half of the statement, but she couldn't refute the second half at all.
She touched her still-flat stomach and sighed listlessly, "It's all that brat's fault."
Lu Yan couldn't help but chuckle. "How did you know it was a boy, Madam?"
Xia Yixin rolled her eyes at the man and said, "Because you only buy things for young girls."
Since learning of her pregnancy, new father Lu Yan has entered a shopping spree, but it's clear he's biased, buying mostly things for little girls.
It's no secret that he likes girls.
The man explained in a serious tone, "I will not allow any other man to touch you, not even my own son."
However, there is a principle in this world that says the more you think about something, the less likely it is to happen. Xia Yixin had a strong intuition that she was carrying a boy.
After Xia Yixin finished speaking, she didn't hear his reply for a long time. She looked up at him strangely and found that he was actually daydreaming.
"Hey!" she poked him angrily.
As if waking from a dream, Lu Yan apologetically kissed her forehead and changed the subject, "I was thinking, if it's a boy, could we just send him to the Qin family to be raised?"
"Absolutely not!" Xia Yixin was immediately led away, her face fierce. "You dare to touch my son?"
"Looks like this kid is already trying to steal you from me even before he's born."
Xia Yixin looked at the man's aggrieved expression and couldn't help but laugh out loud. She put her arm around his shoulder and kissed his thin lips.
What started as a comforting kiss unexpectedly took on a different meaning.
The situation had stabilized after three months, and she wanted to find a way to soothe her inexplicable unease.
She was like a poison to him, and he couldn't say "no" to her.
"Go back inside?" He was breathing heavily, his eyes burning.
"This is fine." She said, her whole body turning bright red with embarrassment.
That night, naturally, was another sleepless one.
However, Xia Yixin was unaware that after she drifted off to sleep again, Lu Yan slowly opened his eyes.
After making sure she was asleep, he went back into the living room.
At this moment, the morning light had already broken through the darkness outside, and there were still traces of the battle in the living room, but Lu Yan's eyes were filled with an intense and unyielding sense of oppression.
Space distorted for a moment.
The first thing to appear was the main god, followed by a gray figure, which was the main system.
"You summoned me, which means you accepted the exchange." The Supreme God's business is mechanical and ruthless.
In fact, Xia Yixin's excessive sleepiness over the past few months was not normal, but rather an inevitable consequence of some reason.
If it weren't for this unexpected child, Lu Yan might have simply ended this world and let her leave. After all, he's done "dying alone" before.
