Hundreds of thousands of Beiming soldiers surrendered, including the Imperial Guards. Apart from a portion that joined the Tiger Wolf Division that arrived later, some others who voluntarily laid down their arms and returned to their fields took the food they were given and left.

The other palace maids and officials, except for the royalists who were all imprisoned and executed, those who voluntarily went home were given food and left, while some who were willing to follow the new regime returned to the Beiming Palace to await the arrival of the new master.

As for the other princes who did not succeed to the throne, few survived the infighting, and most were crippled and no longer a threat. They will face judgment for their past misdeeds; none of them have a clean past.

Xia Yixin left the remaining matters to the scholars and talents promoted by Chu Mubai. Zhao Tuo stayed behind to handle the subsequent prisoners of war and the change of ownership of the Beiming Imperial Palace, while Xia Yixin returned to Mengcheng to pick up Zi Linglong and prepare for the next step of the plan.

The return trip was much easier than the outward journey.

The only downside was that it happened to coincide with the hottest month of June in the Northern Sea.

Over time, the soldiers felt that the atmosphere between Chu Mubai and Yan Jiu (Xia Yixin) was becoming increasingly peculiar.
